What to wear for my first day of college?

I start college on the 15th! Attached pictures are just some ideas to give an image of my style! (First 2 are more dressed up, 3rd is a casual outfit)

Yes i know some of these are overkill but I honestly dont care, im just excited! I wont be doing the pure white base for my makeup, but i will be doing dark lips and dramatic eyes.

Ill be there from about 6am to 1pm, so the temperature will range from a bit chilly to pretty hot depending on the time. Hopefully no rain!

Any advice is welcome!! Im so excited and scared!

Suggestions for which of their older shows to watch?

Hello! Im not really a new fan, as I found StarKid 6 years ago, but i will not lie, all i watched for the longest time was TGWDLM. Over the last 2 or so years I branched out to the rest of the hatchetfield trilogy as well as Cinderellas castle (which let me tell you, I LOVE CC!!! I think its SO underrated!!!) but I dont know where to go from here lol

I dont have a ton of free time, and get easily bored if the story isnt captivating or the music isnt great. Ive heard good things about twisted- should I start with that? Is the music good? Is there a good story or is it just all silly meaningless comedy?

Ty guys! Please be nice, I know I sound like a shallow fan lol

How to care for short curly hair?

18f, hated my hair my entire life and idk what to do. I LOVE the color (naturally dark brown, but bleached. The texture and such stayed the same after bleaching so that isnt my issue!)

It is always dry..so dry! Ive never had greasy hair in my life- if I dont wash it, it just dries up! And frizzy, no matter what I do i feel like a clown with all the frizz!

I have no family with this hair so ive had no advice on what to do with it. My dad hears me complain and gets me hair care gifts (bottom of image 2) but none have worked, I assume im doing something wrong but I dont even know where to start.

Routine is as follows, but i try to change it often and nothing so far has helped!

Every other day, I shampoo with Stay Bright Blonde Shampoo (the purple version) and then condition with Sleek & Shine Smoothing Conditioner

I leave conditioner in for 2-5m before washing out. I brush, then air dry, no other products.

(See image 2 for exact products!)

Yes I know thats a bad routine...thats why im here! Please if anyone knows how to help, I will thank you forever, genuinely. Thank you for reading!! Please tell me what other info i should include.

I need song recs with good lyrics!

(Some examples of current artists i listen to:)

-will wood

-teddy hyde

-sofia isella

BUT I dont listen to music for the sound, I listen for the lyrics! I LOVE sad, angry or thought provoking lyrics. My Playlist ranges from heavy metal to country, as long as I can connect to the words! So suggest any genre!

Please recommend individual songs i can look up and not just general artists!

Ill do my best to reply to every comment with what I think of the song(s) suggested!

Thank you all! Im not the biggest music person but I want to get more into it :)

[TOMT] Song my dad is trying to find.

He is extremely tech literate and has searched for a while for this song to no avail. Any help would be great! These are the lyrics he remembers (may be slightly different, as this is from memory)

You told me pose

Said I was your model

Took my tears

Locked them away in a bottle.

Extra info:

Feme vocalist.

Song title was something like "still developing"

Heard two or three years ago on YouTube.

My fear of the dark came back. What do I do??

(Quick TW for familial loss)

So, it's not really a fear of the dark specifically, but it is severely triggered by darkness.

When I was very young (like 5 and older), I had unmonitored internet access and became obsessed with scary videos. Specifically anything in the uncanny valley, or "humanoid" monsters. I would spend all day looking at these terrifying images, and then every night I would become so scared that I spent the majority of those years crying myself to sleep.

The only comfort I had was my mom. Even when I was terrified, I knew i was safe if she was awake. If I woke up at night and she was already asleep, I would start sobbing uncontrollably out of fear.

I kicked this fear eventually, around the age of 11 or 12. I would still go to bed anxious, but i could manage. I moved away from my mom when I was 14, and was perfectly fine at night without her for years.

Well, im 18 now, and a few days ago, my mother passed away. This obviously came with a lot of horrible emotions and such, but the main point of this post is that this fear came back.

Every night since she passed has been a living nightmare. I keep all my LEDs on (giving the effect of a very bright nightlight basically) and it doesnt help at all. I cannot close my eyes for more than a few seconds without imagining all sorts of uncanny things standing above my bed, and it sends me into a PANIC. Even as I type this (11pm) I keep looking around because I vividly imagine eyes peeking over the edge of my bed or from my closet or under my door etc. It is not something I can ignore- when I try, it spirals into a full panic attack. This isnt helped by the incredibly messy state of my room, giving my pareidolia space to run rampant seeing every pile of laundry as something alive.

Ive been taking so many sleeping meds but even then, I DREAD going to bed at night. It turns my stomach throughout the whole day. What do I do?? Im dealing with enough right now and having a panic attack nightly is making things so much worse. Im just so scared, I dont know what to do.

Taking a lot of melatonin to cope

Hello reddit. Recently lost someone super close to me. Since it happened, I cannot bear to be alone with my thoughts at night, so i take 3-6mg, plus occasionally another light prescribed "take as needed" sleeping med.

This can't be great for me to do nightly, right? Any advice for what to do?

Note: I lost them a few days ago, so ive only done this for around 3 nights.

my mother loved these games.

She passed a few days ago. When I was a kid (I am 18 now), we would play the games at the same time and figure out each puzzle together. We never really understood the stories, but we enjoyed the art and atmosphere and had so much fun.

She was smart, beautiful and loving. I have many siblings, but none were interested in rusty lake, so these games truly felt like something special between me and her.

Is recovery possible

Hi. I am 18, struggled with severe mental health problems since i was around 8, and been suicidal from a very VERY young age as well.

My mom passed a few days ago. I didnt live with her, hadn't since I was 14, but i loved her so SO much and I just feel so hollow now.

Now onto my main point. Everybody online, every therapist, friend and person ive spoken to about my mental health, always acts and talks like recovery is inevitable. That if you hold on and keep your head high, things WILL get better, and some day you will look back and be proud that you made it through the hardest parts.

This was not the case for my mother. She was severely depressed her entire life- i dont think she was EVER truly happy, even before me and my siblings were born. She struggled with addiction and poverty/homelessness, but through it all she stayed hopeful.

And then, she died. She never got her recovery. Never got her "happy ending". How is that fair??? She didnt deserve anything that happened to her, and yet she was forced to endure it and stay strong for her kids (which she had when she was younger than I am now.)

This has all truly shaken how I see life. I am not religious, neither was she, so i can't even truly tell myself shes happier now, or with her family. Am I doomed as well? What is the point of staying strong and resilient and hopeful if life only punished her for it until she died?

How to help my little brothers after our mom died

Hi reddit. Just made a throwaway to ask this, since my family knows my main.

Im 18 years old (just turned 18 last month), and my mom died a few days ago. We dont know how yet.

To explain my family situation: i live with my bio dad, while my little (half, mothers side) brothers, step dad, and mother live(d) on the other side of the country. I haven't seen any of them since I was 14, but i do keep in touch.

I have taken my mom's death hard, but i can function. I have always considered myself "resilient", I can handle myself. What makes me truly sick with fear and worry though, are my little brothers. They are around 10 and 12, and were very close with our mom. The 12 y/o texted me today to tell me about his birthday plans next month and asked to call and play Minecraft tomorrow. He texted like nothing was wrong and didnt mention our mom, but my stepdad has told me that both my brothers were informed of the news.

I will absolutely be playing Minecraft with him tomorrow, but ive come to beg for advice. How can I be there to support my brothers?? They dont deserve to go through this at such a young age, and i dont know how to help them when I live so far away.
