TLR lovers: what did you switch to?

I know this has been asked before but I’m specifically looking for recommendations from people who loved Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore but had to switch to something else.

I’ve had a love/hate relationship with TLR. I LOVE everything about it except for the essential oils/fragrance.
My skin used to tolerate it in the past but lately I wake up with flushed warm skin whenever I use it at night. I’ve given it way too many chances, so I think it’s finally time to move on.

For those who had to make the switch- what did you replace it with?
Looking for the closest alternatives that are fragrance-free and essential-oil-free. Other than Skinfix and Dieux please!

Growth Factor first, then Vitamin C - is that wrong?

TNS (or any other Growth Factors) and vitamin C users, in which order do you apply these two products?

I’ve been applying TNS first, then vitamin C (L ascorbic acid) a few minutes later but this is what I read:

“If you put the SkinMedica TNS emulsion on first, it acts as a rich, conditioning lotion barrier.
When you drop the highly acidic Vitamin C on top of that lotion layer, two negative things happen:

  1. The Vitamin C cannot penetrate: It gets blocked by the heavy TNS emulsion and sits on top, oxidizing and causing surface irritation.
  2. The Growth Factors get destroyed: The strong acid environment from the Vitamin C can break down the delicate growth factor proteins in the TNS, rendering your expensive serum useless.”

Is that true?

SkinMedica explicitly says TNS should be applied to clean, bare skin first.

Should I alternate the two products instead?

I don’t have the time or patience to wait 20-30 minutes between products. What do you actually do?

Instant Angel: Holy Stink. Anyone else?

So I’ve been hearing for months that Dieux Instant Angel is basically a religious experience in a tube, how it changed peoples lives, etc. Naturally, I had to try it.

First I used the tester at Sephora. It smelled suspicious. But I figured it was a tester and it’s probably been through some things.
Then I bought a fresh one.
Reader, it was 10x worse. Apparently the perfume cloud at Sephora had been masking the scent because at home I was able to smell the full bouquet of mildewed dish sponge, forgotten damp towel and some other mysterious notes that I cannot really name.
Still, I refused to give up. I thought maybe it was a bad batch. I returned it and bought another one from a completely different store. Same smell. Same emotional damage.
The worst part is that it isn’t just a mildly unpleasant scent. To me it stinks and it lingers. I’ve since discovered there seem to be two types of people: people who smell absolutely nothing and people like me.
I’m disappointed because I really wanted to join the Instant Angel fan club. Everyone raves about how incredible it is but I also don’t want my face smelling like I haven’t showered since 1998.

Please share your experience.

Is this normal?

Why does my tattoo still look so dark after 5 sessions?
At first I was spacing my appointments about 2-3 months apart and for the last few I’ve been waiting 4-5 months between sessions. Am I doing something wrong or could it be the laser not being that effective? They’re using a Candela Picoway laser.
Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated!

Do you keep your diagnosis private?

Does anyone else avoid telling certain people about their diagnosis because you know they won’t understand and will just invalidate it?
My mother has no idea I’ve been diagnosed or that I’m on medication. I told her my son was diagnosed with severe ADHD and she immediately brushed it off with “a lot of kids are restless, impulsive, disorganized and inattentive.” That pretty much confirmed what I expected. I can only imagine how dismissive she’d be if I told her I was diagnosed in my late 30s, so I don’t even consider bringing it up with her or anyone else I expect to react the same way.
I already regret telling a friend (who’s a pharmacist, of all people). Her response was “yeah almost everyone has it these days” as if it were a fucking seasonal flu that spreads around every year.
So I decided I’d rather keep it to myself.

EDIT: To clarify, I am always open to discussing it with anyone who is genuinely receptive and empathetic. Choosing silence with certain people isn't about hiding, shame or fear of judgment. It is simply a boundary to protect my energy and save myself the unnecessary stress of having to prove my reality to dismissive people.

What's your go-to generic right now?

I need your feedback on generic Adderall manufacturers. Since everything is on backorder I'm trying to figure out which generic brands are worth getting.
Here is my experience with what I've tried so far:

Teva (both IR and XR): most effective for me. Used to get it at Walgreens but they switched me to Rhodes because Teva is backordered.

Sandoz (IR): also worked great but I heard they stopped making them? Not sure if that's true.

Elite (IR): all side effects, zero benefits.

Rhodes (XR): totally useless, feels like taking absolutely nothing.

Let me know your top 2 or 3 so I know what to ask my pharmacist for.

What's the one thing you did that had the biggest positive impact on your sleep?

Go easy on me if this has been asked a hundred times already. I know all the usual recommendations but l'd love to hear from real people about what actually worked for them.

Scared to meditate

I’m fairly new to meditation. Couple weeks ago I entered the deepest meditative state l've experienced so far. After about 45 minutes I decided that it was time to get up and enjoy my guaranteed calmness and peaceful mind for the rest of the day, but instead I started having a horrific dissociation and depersonalization instantly after opening my eyes. I was terrified. As I learned later it is not uncommon when you stop deep meditation abruptly without grounding yourself first. Since then I've been scared to meditate.
Please share if you ever experienced this and how to go back to meditating again safely without losing my mind.

EDIT: It was a breath-focused meditation that completely disconnected my mind from my body.

Why?

I ask it something totally random that isn’t even remotely related in any way to my mental or psychological state.

ChatGPT: You’re not broken, it’s normal, it’s fine.

Umm thanks.. I didn’t think I was. Let’s just discuss those carnations and peonies I asked about 🤷‍♀️

Would this be considered meditation?

I sit with my eyes closed and stay aware of the sounds around me: birds, traffic, random voices, sounds in the building, etc. It calms me down and stops my racing thoughts.
I’m not focusing on one specific sound. Instead I let my awareness effortlessly shift from a bird to traffic to a voice as those sounds naturally arise. I only focus on sounds, not body sensations, breath or anything else.

What type of meditation is this, if any?
