Mac SSD recs
So I have a m4 Mac air 2025 13” with 16gb memory 256gb of storage (I think) and most games I have on steam are upwards of 80gb so I can usually only I have 1 or max 2 installed at the same time. I was wondering if external storage would help with that, I’m sure it would but I’m wondering more about the latency of the games that are stored externally when it’s connected to my Mac and specific storage device recommendations. Preferably not too expensive
also I saw another post saying prices are high? should I be waiting since its nothing too urgent?
and would an HDD be better or an SSD
Many thanks in advance

Almost 200 year old coin
Bought this coin some time back, it’s not in the most perfect shape but I mainly bought it because I thought it was cool, no idea about the value
Have had my penny passport filled out for sometime now
I need a bigger one (yeah some of these aren’t pennys I js like collecting cool ones in general)
the children yearn for a map.
I played this game blind so I had about 15 beacons total for every major and non major location
Review of SN1 as someone who played it blind
So, I played Subnautica for the first time completely blind, and I finished it in about 39 hours. I found the game pretty good, great, actually. I haven't ever played a game like that before, and it was really fun, especially playing it blind without any spoilers, so I really just had to figure everything out myself. One thing I will say, though, is that I wish there was a map. It wouldn't have to be filled out from the start, but just something that fills out as you explore places, you know? Because without it, I had Lord knows how many beacons placed, maybe like 10 or 15, just to get around, so a map would be nice. I do get that the developers didn't want people just killing the creatures and items, which is why they didn't include a weapon, but I still think it should have been an option, though that's not what this review is about. I really liked the depth of information that the game gave you about all the creatures, and their designs are really cool. I do wish they let you upgrade the speed of your vehicles, though; I think that would be a cool upgrade to have, maybe in the next game.
I also like how they didn't really shove the story down your throat and kind of left it up to you. It's almost like Minecraft but with way more content. You can read all the PDAs and learn all the lore and go through everything, or you could just build a base. I've seen some crazy bases on the Subreddit, and they really give you the freedom to do what you want, even if you just want to speedrun the game. You don't really need to know all the lore to do that. Personally, I only really read the PDA when I absolutely needed to, because that's just the kind of player I am, but honestly, if you wanted to, it did seem really interesting to read each entry. I didn't really get into the Degasi PDA storyline; honestly, I just didn't read any of that, but like I was saying, I think it's great that they give you that option and variety.
I finished this game in 39 hours, I am wondering how that time comes up against other people. I think 39 hours for a blind run isn't that bad, but I am curious if someone can tell me what the average time it takes someone to finish. The overall average might be lower than that because most people probably search stuff up, whereas I made a strict rule for myself that I'm not gonna search anything up. It wasted some time, but you know, it's part of the fun. And yeah, the main character is an absolute beast. He or she, I'm not even sure, carries all that huge stuff, gets bit by Leviathans, gets stabbed a bunch of times, handles all that weight I make them hold, and goes down to 1500 meters depth without dying from the pressure. Him versus Steve from Minecraft is a crazy power-scaling strength matchup. But yeah, I think I'm yapping now. It's an amazing game and honestly, everybody should play it at least once. I'm excited for Subnautica 2. I've heard you can't kill anything in that one either, which is kind of annoying, but it's not a big deal. I don't think I'll be playing Below Zero, though, because I've heard it's just the same game with a few tweaks, and I'm not really one to go back and repeat games. That's it.
should I buy stray?
i grew up watching danTDM play this game quite some time ago, and its 50% rn.
Has anyone played it on mac? let me know how you found the game and how it is system wise

The end of my blind run
39 hours to complete the game.
The end has come! I'll start where I left off in my last post, though. I came back to the facility and opened those two doors. One led to a blue tablet and the other to some scannable stuff. I was led deeper down into the thermal biome until I reached what I call the portal hub.
This place is so fucking cool. The lights turn on when you walk in, there are weird noises, an ion cube maker, and 4 portal rooms, not to mention an egg room and a peeper distribution system thing. So, when I first got there, I had to use a blue tablet to get in, which meant I was out of blue ones (important for later). I went through each portal; I had actually found some of these places beforehand but never knew I could use them, just thought they were remnants. They were helpful for travel sometimes, but not much.
Anyway, I had to leave to go craft another blue tablet to unlock the rest of the facility. I came back and did that, and it took me to some empty room. But when I went into the water there, a Sea Emperor was there and she started saying some bs to me about if I was here to play, which was weird to say the least. I went down and it was basically a large aquarium for this leviathan lady. I spent an embarrassingly long time in the aquarium not knowing what to do, but eventually, I found the eggs and she started talking to me. She blew the sand off the aquarium portal and gave me the enzyme formula to free her kids.
I went around, got all the seeds, and made it. (I also spent an embarrassingly long time finding a coral sample to make a fabricator on my Cyclops just so that I could make the enzyme). I made the enzyme, went back, and freed her kids. She thanked me and then slowly started dying... I was thinking she would like, cure me or something, but nothing happened. So, I followed her kids through the portal and they were excreting the concentrated enzyme. I stuck my hand into it, scanned myself, and lo and behold, I was cured!
I ran back to my Neptune and tried launching, only to realize I had to go to the alien stabby place so they wouldn't shoot me down. I traveled back there, got stabbed, the place shut down, and I finally went back to my Neptune. Without saying goodbye to any of my fish or anything really, I set the rocket up and launched. Hit some debris (thought my rocket might crash there for a second), then I timewarped, and end of game!
Lol, this is the only post where I'm not gonna say "no spoilers please."
I enjoyed this game a lot and I'll make a post later that's kind of a review and my thoughts on it as someone playing it blind. But this is it for my series of posts on my blind run! I hope at least some people enjoyed reading about the bs I do, and if not, I still had fun talking about it, even if just to myself.

Blind run (can't put spoilers in title but very cool stuff)
(blind run about 33 hours in)
Guys, guys, lots of stuff has happened! I went back to the lava biome and found a shit ton of kyanite. I decided to explore further because the PDA said there’s a structure at the center of this biome, so I listened and went deeper.
I found this big cube, encountered those lava reptiles, and even took a few of their eggs. Aside from that, I went into the building and found a little alien robot crab, a stack of ion cubes, and coolest of all, a portal! It took me right back to the original alien building—the one with the stabby needle that says you're infected.
There are two more forcefield-blocked areas in the lava biome alien building. I'm hoping the cure is in there since the Sea Emperor was around. Speaking of the Sea Emperor, he doesn't seem that dangerous? I was right around him and he was quite peaceful; he only spit fire at me once.
So yeah, I went back with a ton of kyanite and got every upgrade possible for my Cyclops (yes, all of them), plus a thermal reactor for it and a matching one for my Prawn. Now that I have all the upgrades, I'm gonna go back with the two purple tablets I need and see what's inside those rooms behind the forcefields!!
I think I might be nearing the end of the game all im missing right now is ion battery cells for the neptune
is this a glitch or a solar eclipse😭
as the title says, is this rare or something? or just a glitch
Character test
I really don’t see minene but I guess😭
What to watch
Is there anything similar to future diary in/style and quality? I can’t really think of anything similar I’ve seen probably over 150 anime.
Blind run (huge progress ACF, kharaa)
TL;DR
I explored the massive green River, used an orange tablet to grab some ion cubes, and found a huge alien facility. Inside, I discovered that I am infected with Kharaa and that a cure involves a Sea Leviathan in a thermal area. I found the drop-off to the lava biome but had to turn back because I need kyanite to upgrade my Cyclops depth module and craft a thermal reactor. I also need ion batteries for the Neptune rocket but don't have the blueprint yet.
So, I was going around that huge fossil head and decided to explore some more. This green river place is HUGE, and I kept getting lost and looping around. Anyway, I found a building that had an orange tablet. I was able to open the area shown in the last picture, which had some ion cubes, but it didn't give much other help.
I kept going and found a massive alien building further down the green river. It took me an embarrassingly long time to find my way inside, but once I did, there were a lot of cool data downloads and things to scan. There was also a large, ugly-looking fish, meaning these aliens had some odd pets. I even found a really weird, restrained Warper; apparently, the aliens were trying to weaponize them.
The most important thing that happened, though, was finding out what I'm infected with. It's something called Kharaa, and it's going to kill me in two weeks? I'm hoping it's not two in-game weeks, because if it is, I'm definitely dying. The logs also mentioned they were developing a cure using something called the Sea Leviathan in a thermal area, so I guess my goal is to head there next.
However, I can't really go much deeper yet until I find out where to get kyanite, since I need that for the depth module on my Cyclops. Going down there with only my Prawn suit is going to be troublesome. I explored past the facility and found a drop-off that seems to lead into a lava-like biome, so I assume that's where I need to go. I ultimately turned back because, as I said, I don't have the depth module.
Aside from that, I've gotten almost every upgrade for the Cyclops. The fire suppression system and the shield are great, but that shield really drains the battery! I want the thermal reactor module, but again, kyanite is the issue. I also need ion batteries for the Neptune rocket, but I have zero clue how to make those and no blueprint as of yet.
So yeah, that's about it! And as always, please no spoilers.
cuddlefish are so cute
Blind run) I found these random eggs a while ago, and I finally got the blueprint for the alien containment thing. I was like, might as well put the two same-looking eggs in here, because I was worried if I put different types in together they might try to eat each other.
I scanned them after they hatched, and the PDA said they are capable of listening to simple commands? I'm not sure how I would do that, but either way, they are very cute!
Recommendations
A hold has been placed in my soul after finishing mirai nikki. Please give me recommendations to fill the hole🥺🙏
Going abroad
I’m going to be studying abroad and I was wondering if anyone got any osap grants if are also in the same situation and maybe some advice on the process, I’m aware there’s another form or something I need to fill out but that’s kinda it, info online is pretty abstract
thoughts after finishing the anime
Well, I originally posted a theory, and I was mostly wrong, but I was right that she was hiding something major from Yukki. Theories aside, I actually really liked the anime, especially the ending of Redial. Initially, her "love" was rooted in obsession and a desire to have a proper family and future, while Yukki's "love" came from wanting someone consistent in his life (at least, that's my interpretation). In the end, though, they found true love. I really didn't think I would consider this to be a romance anime, but it really seems to be one! Akise's character is kind of odd to me, though... he seems like a plot device, and I don't know how I feel about him.
I do have a question, though: is Redial canon? Or is it like some sort of alternate ending? I really hope it's canon and they actually do end up together.
quick edit: I think the anime would be much more popular if they didnt have 14 yr olds butt booty naked every other episode😭
Theory (ep 8)
So, I finally got around to watching this anime last night and I kinda binged the first 8 episodes until like 5 AM. 😭
So no spoilers please
But I wanted to share some theories I had regarding Yuno and her love for Yukki.
I think she was interested in Yukki before the diaries and stuff, but she never did anything—which is weird. All she did was stalk him for a year and never made a move. Secondly, I don’t think she’s actually in love with him in the normal sense; she feels possessiveness over him, and I have a feeling it might be a condition of her diary.
When it says in her diary, “Yuno and Yukki become one,” I don’t think it’s talking about sex, even though it says "happy ending." Seeing the weird dead bodies in Yuno's apartment, I think she might be eating people? I’m stretching with that, I know, but there’s just something really weird with how they weren’t just murdered but disfigured. I think maybe “become one” means that she like... eats him? I’m not sure, but there’s definitely something up with her.
Edit: I would still crack tho
