I was with somebody for kinda js a year, I know it’s not a lot but he was my first everything/anything. (Not the same for him tho)
During the relationship, there were a lot of ups and downs. And it started getting toxic day by day. Every single time I would bring up something that would bother me, he would flip the situation and make me apologize and convince him. (Used to litr send him 100+ messages or make virtual cards to manao him, even when it was not my fault)
I used to literally feel like I’m walking around egg shells when I was with him. And even when I told him this, he literally invalidated my feelings saying “do you even know the meaning of that? How can you say something like this to me?” Like I do get it, some people are naturally more sensitive, and that’s completely okay. But what’s not okay is when you do something and have an issue when I’m doing it. For instance, I removed all my guy friends for him because he didn’t like it, yet he couldn’t do the same for me even after me asking him repeatedly to do so. He called me controlling for it. The double standards were insane.
He was also super misogynist, used to spend hours arguing with women online abt feminism and patriarchy 😭 and everytime I argued with him regarding it, he would come up with the most logic-less excuses ever. He used to say shit like, periods and pregnancy are not that big of a deal since they’re only physical and temporary, and that male baldness is worse and causes more depression to men (?)
It’s been a while since I ended things with him, and I’m so glad I did. I can finally live my life without him controlling what I do and where I go. But now I js feel this hatred for him. And this annoyance at myself. That why did I put so many efforts into this relationship? Why did I let him get away with things he wouldn’t forgive me for? (He used to talk to his “bhen jaisi dost” behind my back, even after I told him she makes me uncomfortable)
There was also something else that he did that bothered me so much. I told him about my personal family problems and trauma. And in an argument, he used it against me. (Opened up to him about my dad being toxic and abusive, and he told me “I’m just like my dad”). And later on, when I confronted him abt it, he told me that he just wanted to hurt me bcs I was hurting him and that he didn’t mean it. Like bro? I would’ve never used anybody’s personal trauma against them, even if held on gunpoint. And that’s what hurts the most, sharing something so personal with somebody, and getting it used against you.
He was also extremely controlling, would not let me post literal normal pics of myself on my all girls private account bcs I “looked too good” but would post his own gym wale pics on his public account 🙏
I just feel so hurt that I wasted so many emotions and energy onto this person, only to receive disrespect at the end. And now all I’m left with is trust issues and fear of commitment. How do I heal and fix this? ☹️
