I recently bought this smooth-bezel Gulf Oil Air-King, listed as a 5500. I’ve since found two other Gulf Oil examples online: one with a smooth bezel and one with a gold bezel, but both have a gold crown like mine.
My AD noticed that the case is actually engraved 5501, and suggested it may have been used as the base case, which would also explain the gold crown.
I’m looking for some certainty, but there’s very little information online. Any insights?

I am looking for a 118206 with a cherry dial and arabic date wheel. Can’t find any active listings anywhere and i’ve been looking for quite a while. Does anyone happen to have any leads or tips?

I love unusual dials, but my SBGA469 one always felt a bit boring since it mostly looks black. Today I saw it in the sun again.. the texture is insane.

There’s something pretty cool about a watch having a hidden beauty that only shows itself in the right light.

My 2021 Yacht-Master went in under warranty because it was running a little out of spec. Got it back after a few months, since then I really got into vintage. Like my 16700, 16570 and 1500.

Felt a little strange to wear my “heavy” YM again but I’m sure that feeling will fade.

Flying to Turkey in a few days for my brother-in-law’s wedding. I’ll be there for two weeks, mostly in Istanbul, and I’m only planning on taking one watch.

I’ve narrowed it down to these.
I’d like something that works well for the wedding, but also for everyday wear while exploring the city.
I’m really tempted to take my 16700 Pepsi because I think it’s the most interesting option for the trip, but I’m not sure how safe it is to wear it around Istanbul for two weeks.
What would you pick and why?

My Black Bay 41 had a bezel that didn’t feel as smooth as any of my other dive watches. The action felt noticeably rougher and less consistent, so I brought it to my AD in February. In March, they informed me that Tudor wanted the watch sent to Switzerland for inspection. After that, I heard absolutely nothing for months…
Yesterday I finally got an update. Tudor apparently inspected the watch and concluded that the bezel is a product characteristic and well within their tolerances. So after several months and a trip to Switzerland, the watch is being returned without any repair.

My 16700 from 1991 which I recently purchased. Can’t stop looking at it, ordered a jubilee from the ad for it too and think it will look even better then :)

Swapped my black bezel for a Pepsi insert and also ordered a Jubilee bracelet from the AD. Curious to see how it all comes together on the watch.

This was my first ever Tudor, since then I added serveral others. I think they are still heavily underrated especially now with the in-house movements. What do you guys think of the Royal?

Wearing my explorer 2 16570 from 1999 for the first time. Really pleased with the size of it, I previously tried on the new reference in 42MM but it felt huge on my wrist.

Thinking of changing it back to the steel bracelet again.

Doesn’t get nearly enough wrist time, unfortunately—but when the light hits the dial just right, it easily becomes the most unique piece in my collection.
