I have to go back home, and it feels like going back to the pits of hell.
I am in USA on a seasonal J1 visa.
The visa ends soon.
I don’t want to go back. My life there has always been hell. My whole life I’ve thought about escaping it and I never could.
Now I am across the ocean in USA, and I have to go back in 2 months. I even got accepted in uni here but don’t have money to pay for it. The F1 visa doesn’t allow working.
I don’t want to go back at all.
I want to leave mostly so I can find mental health community. For myself. I want opportunities as well.. and mostly I want to be far from home. There is so much pain there, my childhood, my memories. It makes me feel stuck and depressed like I am in a hole.
My father is also mentally ill and he never got help. He cannot work. There is no mental health support back home.
My parents are separated. There is so much poverty in my family. I grew up with my mom sleeping on the floor.
There is endless sadness and anger in my fam.
It is just painful to be there. I want to start new somewhere.
I want a new chance in life. But it seems hard and impossible. I have tried everything when u have no money back home it’s hard. There are not even jobs left there. Cause it’s a small city in decay. It got ruined cause of wars in the 90s.
When I left everyone told me “DO NOT COME BACK!”.
I have to go back, empty handed. And it pains me.
