What is your favorite part of Ilia’s skating?

Why do you enjoy watching him so much? What made you become a fan? For me it was his musicality honestly! Love the effortlessness of his jumps as well though!

(my least favorite part? definitely the abuse of instagram, someone please take away his phone - and post part two)

Stephane and Lucinda were both in the top comment but the next comment was for Stephane so I used him with Lucinda in parentheses. Both have amazing spins, my heart will always belong to Kamila’s though. Anyway, someone suggested I add performance so that PCS is complete so here we go who and the best performance? Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure performance is the entertainment portion, are they enjoyable to watch? Most upvoted comment wins!

skating skills are edge control, technique, movement across the ice. It measures multi directional skating, one foot skating, effortless seeming power and deep edges. Crossovers, spirals, lunges, footwork transitions (mohwaks, brackets, twizzles etc)) are often used to measure skating skills. most loved cment wins!

next musicality! musicality is how well a skater connects to the music, does it feel like they’re skating with the music or just in front of it? Do they hit moves on the right parts of the song do they stay on beat, etc.

Who has the best needle spin?

finished the jump series and there was lots of support to start another one, so let’s give a category where I know the women will shine (and some of the men too!) spins!! We’re going to start with my personal favorite needle spins! so who has the best? same as last series most upvoted comment wins!

note: if you don’t know what a needle spin is it is where the skater spins with their leg in a split behind their back (like a straightened biellman spin)

This series was really fun, and I might do a different one similar to this with other skating skills (maybe different spins, or choreo moves!). anyway last question who is your favorite jumper? Mine has got to be Ilia, his jumps just feel like he’s flying!

Old topic but do you guys think that if Ilia went to Beijing he would’ve done better in Milan?

Just given the fact that if he had gone to Beijing the pressure wouldn’t have been as great, and even if he hadn't medaled he would’ve gotten the Olympic experience which would likely take the edge off 2026 when the whole world was looking at him. but idk maybe no matter what milan just wasnt his year.
