Market wages and fortune 500 companies

I just wanted to leave this here. I've found that the longer you stay at a company, especially big fortune 500 companies their definition of market wages is pretty much what ever the minimum is to keep you from leaving, not what you usually can get from a promotion or equivalent job as a new employee somewhere else. When you add it up it's a life changing amount of money for an engineer at retirement age.

Why you should care if your an engineer, you do the innovation and value added work only to have management and executives to be over paid. It's the discipline and principle of things and to not be used for your passion.

Best of luck out there.

Let's preface this photo stolen from WallStreetbets with "after earnings investments until next quarter"

The smartest move is to make the whale investors pay by selling and letting them hold the bag until the earnings call.

Following up on my investment advise to make the DRAM suppliers pay for the additional cost of DRAM on your PC from a few weeks ago

I sold my DRAM etf for $71 a share after investing at $50 a share and made 40 % profit over the month. Nothing like making AI memory hoarders pay thru a good investment.

Would I buy at $70? No, but if it pulls back or earnings are good on micron then you to could make those memory hording AI farms pay for your mini pc maxed out with RAM as well.

Quiting gm as an engineer was the best move of my career

Leadership spews good leadership as being the difference maker while putting in "ambiguous" in engineering job descriptions. This translates to Leadership expecting to pay average to below average tech wages and hope for someone to else to make them rich.

Meanwhile the companies lackluster results are clear compared to silicon valley where the leaders are the ones who invented something new and continued to do so as well as owning the company. Meanwhile "good communication and social skills" are touted as good leadership qualities. The rest is history. Funnily enough the government has figured out long ago that laws like the free economy, anti trust and patents etc, make life better for the average joe and will not budge on innovation I'm the civilian world

Good luck hope this helps all you people hanging on at GM, complaining about each other as it seems both leadership and rank and file are both the problem.

Slick way to pay for extra ram on mini pc

Since ram has sky rocketed and people don't want to pay extra price, I suggest investing in the DRAM etf, I put $20 k into it the other week and I'm up $5000 in 2 weeks. While I'm holding for a year or two there is plenty of up side to invest and profit to offset the extra ram cost and then sell and use the money elsewhere.

20k in DRAM etf which holds a significant amount of micron.

Good trade or not seems like you guys are focused on micron and not the overall memory trade.

Holiday inn club vacations scam pulled by sales person

I went on the vacation provided by holiday inn club vacations march 2026 in Las Vegas. They sold me on 2 weeks of vacations for 30000 points by showing me how many points it would take from Sunday to Friday during the spring and fall for several of their resorts.

I immediately tried to login to the club vacations website to book my vacation and it literally took 3 months for this to get setup. Upon trying to book It really costs 40000 to 50000 points for a single bedroom for Sunday thru Thursday in most resorts.

The scam is to show you that it is a good deal that you will pay back within 3-4 years if you vacation 2 weeks out of the year, when in reality it's takes 8-9 years of vacations.

Not only that but they have a $1100 finance fee on $3500 financed at 16% apr loan for this credit.

My solution is to dispute the down payment on my credit card, then pull back anything they try to bill my bank and block them.

In addition I'm a platinum rewards member with holiday inn hotels but won't be booking with them anymore.

Due to their dishonesty they are actually losing money on me and they will have to take me to court to get any money out of me. No I did not use the time share at all.

I hope this helps anyone looking at holiday inn club vacations. Do not believe their sales person's they are probably logging in with their personal account to show you a reduced number of points as to what you will actually get.

Man am I glad to be back in my escape after the rental, from a comfort perspective however I got 55 mpg average on my trip in the Hyundai sonata rental which was impressive compared to the escapes 32 to 36 mpg highway. On the way back 45mpg all highway vs the 55mph roads there.

The range in the sonata was also impressive 500+ mpg ..... When I go to look at another vehicle I will be comparing Hyundai suv hybrids, as the ford bronco seems like a lesser vehicle than the escape. Honda and Toyota used vehicles were expressive compared to Ford.
