The End is not the Nether

The End needs a spruce-up, that is true. But it's whole shabang is that it is desolate and empty. The Nether is hostile and dangerous but useful. The End is a bossfight then a dimension to explore and find rewards. I don't think that it needs a complete overhaul. Maybe 2 new passive or neutral mobs, a couple of biomes. Maybe a structure. And a few items. Otherwise it just becomes Nether 2.0. Not saying thats a bad thing, just saying that it may change the End from how its supposed to be. Unless there is lore or something that explains a sudden explosion of life, we just don't really need loads for a reqlly good end update. This is a controversial take, I know. But it is probably all we need. Thoughts?

Headcanon: Skulk could be a defence mechanism

So, we know from the leaks that the >!red blocks in the Sift are 'healthy skulk'!< and the skulk blocks we know are >!unhealthy!<. But what if the >!unhealthy!< skulk was intended to be a defence mechanism for >!The Sift!<? Like, the people that made the ancient cities made the portal, didn't like what they found and used >!The Sift!< to stop others from coming in and opening the portal? That would be quite interesting imo. Thoughts?

What do we think the connection is between the Sift and Skulk?

Maybe the Skulk is some form of parasite trying to infect the Sift? Or perhaps it is guarding the portal, protecting the Sift? I would love to hear some theories, nothing too serious. MCD2 is not out yet so we don't know loads about it.

Throwing flame charges

Thats it, just the title, thats the suggestion. Just like in bedwars. But in vanilla. Just for fun. Maybe PvP? Creating a small explosing and a bit of fire? I would imagine that it would make flame charges rarer from piglin bartering and nobody crafts them so that would not meed to change. They have very little use in game so as a sort of ranged weapon it just makes sense. Ghasts do it so why can't Steve? I know dispensers do it but they only can do one angle at a time.

Any thoughts on the bedrock skin creator?

To me it blocks a whole bunch of creativity behind a paywall and the internet is...tricky at best to find reputavle sources for skin creation. Any suggestions? But in all honesty it has some good things. I really like the concept of getting achievements to unlock cosmetics and the animated stuff is really fun!

Is anybody talking about the fact that boats are now fixed? (On Bedrock)

This is such a nice QoL change but I haven't seen many people talking about it

Edit: forgot to elaborate, Bedrock boats now have only 5hp so you do not need to hit them for six hours straight to break them

We have had many polls and questionnaires in the past, but I am curious. What do YOU think is the least favourite pokemon?

So from what research I have done, I have concluded that >!Bruxish!< seems to be the least favoured by the community. But what in your personal opinion do you think is the least favourite? Or maybe which pokemon do you think gets the least use? Which pokemon has been caught merely to full the pokedex?

What is one pokemon that you simply NEED in every playthrough/game?

Mine has to be Inkay, lvl 30 evolution and super cute! I know its ×4 weak to bug types but you can easily cover that weakness. Very handy to have a dark and psychic type with loads of coverage. Superpower at lvl 60 for Malamar with contrary combined with a metrenome is op, foul play too

Grass texture should extend down the sides of the block and the (dirt) block below it.

So in game when you see a hill it mainly looks just like a mound of ugly dirt. I think that the grass blovk texture should extend further to the bottom of the block and if there is a dirt block there then it should extend maybe halfway down the block there? Does anybody agree?

There should be an easier way to find your most caught pokemon, maybe with more statistics

I dont think that it would serve tremendous use in game. But it would still be cool to have a better statistics page, or at least one with more statistics. Like which pokemon you have caught the most, which one you have the most candy for, which one you have the most of currently etc. Just as an interesting statistic. Does anyone else feel the same?

There should be a way to choose the music played in game... and stop cave sounds

Sound in Minecraft is VERY important. It drives a huge amount of the detail and emotion of the game and is extremely well known. But sometimes there are gaps in the music and you are left with silence. In singleplayer this is quite dull. So we should have a way to just create tracks of music in game.

I am not against just playing music irl to replace it, but it would just be cool to have it as an option. Maybe its like spotify or something that would allow you to pick specific ones and create playlists or mixes of sorts. And of course you could listen to them outside of worlds in a menu to see, or rather listen, to what it is like. Then in game and outside, you can select and which music you want to listen to.

Also we need cave sounds to have an option to be turned off. The amount of times I have *leapt* out of my skin when one plays in the abscence of music is definetely in the hundreds now. Or if you are an absolute masochist then maybe there could be an option to change the regularity and 'strength' of the cave sounds.

The Sniffer: suggestions to improve it

Many in the community agree on the fact that the Sniffer is half baked at best, it is cute but mostly useless. But I think it could be very useful. And seeing that >!it may be getting its own dimension in MCD2!<, I think it about timr for it to get some more attention.

  1. Taming: Sniffers naturally dig up torchflower seeds and pitcher pods. Now, the torchflower seeds are used for breeding, so why cant the pitcher pods be used for taming? A tamed Sniffer would get a harness added onto its model and texture.

  2. Riding: I am not *fully* set on the idea but it could work, by equipping the Sniffer with a saddle you can now use it to plant seeds in a 3×3 area. And by using a 'Torchflower on a stick' in your offhand slot you can control and increase the normal walking speed of the Sniffer. The seeds planted would depend on the seeds held in your hand.

  3. Harvesting: the Sniffer would also be able to harvest fully grown crops, but would not able to pick them up. Of course you could automate this part by running hoppers and hopper minecarts under the tilled soil to collect or something else like that.

  4. Bonus: Sniffer pelt, obtainable by shearing a sniffer, it could be used as a sort of wool alternative. Same uses and applications but a different texture.

Just some ideas that I thought would fit in with the Sniffer and make it more useful! Any thoughts and suggestions?

Villager update: Part 3:

Hello there! This is the third of a chain of posts on the topic of Villagers! Please keep all criticism constructive and I will try to respond to comments. I will also link the posts together as I post them.

This Part will focus on the Villagers and their trades to be more specific, therefore I have used the Mobs flair.

Villager trading is, to say the least, very powerful. You can get trades for diamond gear in just about an hour of work. And infinite enchanted books too! It is both loved and hated but needs some form of balancing.

Firstly, villager curing. Having the ability to permanently reduce trade costs to the minimum is overpowered. One stick for one emerald? It takes the fun and challenge out of trading. Therefore, I suggest that the price reduction remains only applying to emerald costs but does NOT stack. Just a 20-30% reduction (maybe more, these are just ideas) would go a long way. This is not to say that it should be harder for players to use Villager trades, it is just to make it more of a challenge.

Furthermore, rerolling trades is tedious and dull. I saw that Grian came up with the idea that by giving a Villager an enchanted book, it would then sell that book. This would definetely be a very good change to make. And the only way I could see to improve it is to have 'requests'. Requests would work by asking Wandering Traders to 'find' specific items that they are able to have after a few days. Including specific enchanted books. Not specific levels, just individual enchantments. Then they would give you a low level version of the book which you could give to a Villager. This would add more utility to Wandering Traders. I think a reasonable amount of days for the Trader to 'find' a book would be between 7 to 10 days and afterwards they would not be able to find that book for a while?

I hope these ideas seem reasonable enough to fit in Minecraft, and as usual any suggestions and thoughts are welcome!

Villager update: Part 2:

Hello there! This will be the second of a chain of posts on the topic of Villagers! Please keep all criticism constructive and I will try to respond to comments. I will also link the posts together as I post them.

This Part will focus on the Golems in the game, therefore I have used the Mobs flair.

Villagers are iconic for having their Iron protectors around, but this could easily be expanded to the other types too!

  1. Iron Golems: The only change I would suggest for the Iron golems is that they would have a larger detection radius for mobs and immediately aggro on a mob if it hurts a villager, no matter the distance. Maybe also they could be repaired by villagers? Some Villages don't have enough Villagers to spawn another one, and there are the professions that involve working with iron so why not use some to repair the Iron Golem?

  2. Copper Golems: The first thing that came to mind is that they could wander around and pick up mob drops but then I realised that that was the job of the Allay (which will get talked about in a future post). So instead as their main function is to organise chests, why not have them help the Villagers? I think that Villagers should get the ability to put items into copper chests, and then have the golems sort them in a new Village building I will call the Village Hall! Generating near the center of most Villages it would be a building a bit larger than most other buildings and have a few chests for the Copper Golem to sort items into. One for food and crops, one for valuables, and one for any other miscellanious items. And Villagers could pool their resources together to be good and proper community. I will hope that this extended suggestion does not breach any rules and is not too advanced to naturally occur. I think that it functions as a nice little tutorial for the Copper Golem and to see it spawn naturally would be super cool!

  3. Snow Golems: At first thought it could just be slapping them into a cold biome Village and calling it a day, but I think we can do better. What if Snow Golems were able to start snowball fights between Villagers? Just friendly bursts of fun between Villagers, mostly children. I imagined that the snowballs would do no damage to villagers, including the knockback. Just hitting the villagers and breaking. And of course they would be able to do more damage to mobs alongside their Iron counterparts.

I hope these ideas seem reasonable enough to fit in Minecraft, and as usual any suggestions and thoughts are welcome! And I hope that this does not get taken down for being multiple suggestions as it is for improving Villager and Golem interaction!

Villager update: Part 1

Hello there! This (as you can see from the title) will be the beginning of a chain of posts (which I believe is not against the rules) on the topic of Villagers! Please keep all criticism constructive and I will try to respond to comments. I will also link the posts together as I post them.

This Part will focus on the Villages themselves, therefore I have used the Structures flair.

The Villages need a decent improvement. We are currently stuck with what we can barely call 'Villages' I think that there should be an increase in the size of Villages, and maybe make it so wach one generates with a minimum number of each type of house? A real village could not function if the only job was to ve a librarian. Furthermore, I do not think that more professions should be added or removed. And the layout is sometimes really strange. I think that the generation of Villages should only really be in flat areas, otherwise we end up with 'broken Villages" which look cool in a youtube short but not cool in game.

In conclusion, I suggest for a change to the Village generation that they should generate with a minimum number of each profession (maybe with some having a chance to not generate, maybe) and that they should stick to flat terrain rather than ambitious mountains. Any thoughts and/or suggestions?

The Nether is a realm of fungus

Yes I know that we have got Warped and Crimson fungus, but I am saying that the Netherrack itself is a fungus. And a very special one at that. Why do I think this? Well, I have a couple of reasons:

  1. Sound: place and break a block of Netherrack. Now place and break one of the Stem blocks (Warped or Crimson). They make similar sounds, the stems have a slight echo at the end which I will come to in a bit. But the point is that a production of the fungus sounds the same as Netherrack. This could be coincidence but there is more.

  2. Ruined portals: We assumed that the Netherrack could spread on its own as some sort of fleshy organism. But this does not happen with any portals we make, only ruined portals have this. And now that they are 'ruined' the Netherrack has stopped spreading. It has been cut off from the main body and us quite small. Similar to real life fungus, if it lacks the nutrients and size to start a new colony, in an unfamiliar environment it will die. The Netherrack fungus spread into the overworld through the portals but they kept being cut off and the Netherrack realised that going through these portals was a waste or resources. So it stopped trying. That is why our portals do not do the same. But the point is that the Netherrack has both an intelligence and a desire to spread.

  3. Blackstone, Ancient Debris Quartz... and a general lack of organs: You could say that the lava is a sort of foreign digestive juce utilised by the Netherrack. And that could be correct, there are no designated 'organs' or 'stomach' for the Netherrack to use to digest food. There are pockets of lava everywhere and patches of blackstone and debris everywhere too. I would suggest that the Netherrack fungus uses lava to digest its food. A normal fleshy organism would have a stomach or a brain or just organs in general but there is no such thing in the nether. So I would guess that the blackstone and debris, not really having a real life equivalent could be the remains of digested food. As for quartz, I am not entirely sure.

  4. The matters of the two elephants in the room: Crimson and Warped fungus. What are they then? Evolved branches of the Netherrack? Parisites? I would go with the possibility that it is both. They have evolved from the 'plain' Netherrack fungus and become a parisite of sorts, new enough to only go to the surface but still acting like a fungus.

  5. Also it's dead then: My final part of the theory is that the Netherrack fungus is dead. If the Crimson and Warped fungi are parasites, and the digestion of food is not continuing. And foreign entities are ecisting and using the Netherrack without any sort of response. Then it must all be dead. And a long time dead. This does sort of go against what I said earlier but if everything I have said is true, then it still stands. The parisitic fungi are branches of Netherrack and retain any knowledge it had. Therefore they do not go through portals as a way of protecting its resources gathered by breaking down the Netherrack.

This theory is a bit far fetched and I do not know if it has already been discussed and debunked or whatever. But here us my take, I hope it makes sense. Any thoughts?

Also, what flair do I use for this lol

Is there potentially an SCP that can create D-classes for the foundation?

There are not enough death row inmates for the Foundation to use. It has become a meme of sorts over the years. Could a plausable explanation simply be that there is an SCP capable of creating harmless yet obedient D-classes that the Foundation could use?

Edit: Wow, there are so many for the foundation to use
