Scouting a planet and launching an attack – persistent space strategy directly in the browser

I wanted to show a bit more actual gameplay from Last-War.

In this short clip I send a probe to another planet, open the espionage report, check the available information and then launch a fleet based on what I found.

Last-War is a persistent multiplayer space strategy game that runs directly in the browser.

No download.

No installation.

The game focuses on long-term economy, research, colonization, espionage, custom ship design, alliances, trading and PvP fleet combat.

You can even design your own ship types, configure them for different roles and give your designs their own names.

Play here:

I’d be interested to know whether this kind of gameplay is what you expect from a deeper browser strategy game.

Modern or Classic? Which interface would you choose for a persistent browser space strategy game?

I’ve been working on Last-War, a persistent multiplayer space strategy game that runs directly in the browser.

One thing I wanted to offer was a choice between two very different interfaces:

Modern Web

A cleaner, more visual interface with updated navigation, galaxy views and a more contemporary sci-fi look.

Classic Web

A denser, more traditional browser game interface for players who prefer the old-school style and want more information visible at once.

Both interfaces use the same account, same planets, same fleets and the same persistent universe.

Last-War is deliberately a bit deeper and more complex than many lightweight sci-fi browser games. It focuses on long-term planning, economy, research, fleet composition, custom ship design, colonization, trading, alliances and persistent PvP rather than quick sessions or simplified mechanics.

Some of the main systems include:

• 7 galaxies

• Planet colonization

• Research and economy

• Custom ship design

• Fleet missions and combat

• Player trading

• Alliances

• Persistent multiplayer universe

You can play directly in the browser here:

https://last-war.com

I’m genuinely curious:

Would you choose Modern or Classic — and why?

Last-War is now playable in the browser — new players can register directly

Hi everyone,

I’m developing Last-War, a persistent online space strategy game that has been available on Android and iOS for some time.

The game is now also playable directly in a web browser:

https://web.last-war.de/login

You can build and manage planets, establish colonies, research technologies, design and produce ships, command fleets, trade resources, join alliances, explore the galaxy, and fight other players.

New players can now register directly in the web version. Existing players can use the same account and game progress across the browser, Android, and iOS versions.

The web version offers two different interfaces: a modern view designed for desktop and mobile browsers, and an optional Classic view inspired by the original Last-War browser game. Players can choose the style they prefer while using the same account and game progress.

An interactive help system is also included to explain important functions directly inside the game and help new or returning players get started.

The game is still being actively developed, so feedback about the interface, balancing, or technical issues is welcome.

Web version:
https://web.last-war.de/login

I’d be interested to hear what strategy-game players think about the concept and the two browser interfaces.

I'm not looking for empty praise—I would really appreciate honest feedback from developers and Play Store users.

[Indie / Mobile] I run a classic browsergame-style space strategy game called Last-War — feedback welcome

Hi everyone,

I run a sci-fi strategy game called Last-War, inspired by classic old-school browsergames.

The game is about building planets, researching technologies, managing resources, designing ships, joining alliances and sending fleets across different galaxies. It is currently available as a mobile app, and the new round has just started, so everyone begins from zero again.

I am not a big studio — this is an active community-driven project that is still being improved step by step. Bugs are being fixed, new systems are being added, and player feedback directly influences development.

If you like old browsergame-style space strategy games with long-term progression, alliances and galactic competition, I would really appreciate your feedback.

🚀 Fresh Universe Started – Last-War (Android & iOS)

Hi everyone!

Last-War is inspired by classic browser-based space strategy games and aims to bring that long-term experience to mobile devices.

Players start with a single planet and gradually expand their empire by colonizing worlds, researching technologies, designing their own ships, trading resources, joining alliances, engaging in diplomacy, espionage, and competing in a persistent universe.

Unlike many mobile strategy games, there are no heroes to collect and no short match sessions. The focus is on long-term progression, planning, diplomacy, and competition between real players.

Features:

🚀 Design your own ships

🌍 Colonize planets

🔬 Research technologies

🤝 Join alliances

⚔️ PvP, espionage and diplomacy

🌐 Persistent universe

🇬🇧 English

🇩🇪 German

🇪🇸 Spanish

🇵🇱 Polish

A completely fresh universe has just started, so everyone currently has an equal opportunity to grow.

I'd genuinely appreciate hearing from strategy fans:

Do you think there is still a place for old-school browser-style strategy games on mobile?

DevPost] I spent years bringing old-school browser space strategy gameplay to Android and iOS – here's the result

Hi everyone,

I'm Bernd, a hobby developer from Germany, and I've been working on Last-War in my spare time for several years.

I grew up with browser-based strategy games and always wanted to bring that long-term experience to mobile devices.

In Last-War, players start with a single planet and gradually expand their empire by colonizing worlds, researching technologies, designing their own ships, trading resources, joining alliances, engaging in diplomacy, and competing in a persistent universe.

Unlike many mobile strategy games, there are no heroes to collect and no short match sessions. The goal is to recreate the feeling of classic browser MMOs, where decisions, alliances, and planning matter over weeks and months.

A completely fresh universe has recently started, so everyone currently has an equal opportunity to grow.

[DEV] I just restarted the universe of my indie space strategy game today 🚀

Hi everyone,

I'm Bernd, a hobby developer from Germany and I've been working on my space strategy game Last-War in my spare time for quite a while now.

The game is inspired by classic browser-based space strategy games where players colonize planets, research technologies, design their own ships, trade resources, join alliances and compete in a persistent universe.

Today a completely fresh universe has started, so everyone begins under the same conditions.

The game currently supports English, German, Spanish and Polish, and I'm continuously working on new features, improvements and balancing.

I'm mainly looking for honest feedback from Android strategy fans. Do games like this still have an audience on mobile?

Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lastwar.game

I'd really appreciate any thoughts, suggestions or criticism.

Thanks for taking a look!
