Not Nomad Rocky Point strap

Nomad unfortunately don't make the Rocky Point strap for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, so I made my own via Amazon UK

Spigen rugged case, Amazon special watch strap and all done...

Fits well, comfy and well protected 👌🏼

Back to the S25U

Moved back to the S25U and Galaxy Watch Ultra after a month with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Pixel Watch 4 45mm - just wasn’t happy with either, more so the watch

I’ve fitted the S25U into an Otterbox Commuter case for the S26U - fits perfectly and its got strong MagSafe magnets - why they didn’t do the MagSafe version for the S25U I do not know…

Ultima rugged protection

I'm gonna be a lumberjack today as I've a lot of oak to chainsaw down to size, to then split and season for our woodburner...

So the rugged strap is required 👍🏼

Back to Samsung and the Watch Ultra

Moved back to my S25 Ultra and the Watch Ultra 2025 version.

Just couldn't get on with the Pixel Watch 4 45mm and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a superb device, but not for me...

Forgot how good the watch ultra is, and got it brand new / sealed via eBay UK for £275 delivered!

Fitted it with an Ultimal velcro strap and a case for now as I've been doing a lot in the gardens today, and a few bits on my car, so didn't want to catch it / damage it etc

My new-to-me 2009 LCI E63 635d M Sport in Deep Sea Blue Metallic

Purchased this a few weeks ago; as soon as I saw the first picture I'd bought it without seeing it 😂

Got it home and started to give it my level of OCD

So far it's had a thorough in-depth interior clean; all glass cleaned, dashcam fitted (front & rear), satnav upgraded thanks to Rusty at satnavupgrades.co.uk - I've deep cleaned all the leather with Dr Leather and Furniture Clinic products; refurbed the steering wheel best as I can with a Furniture Clinic kit.

I've got brand new Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sports to be fitted this week sometime and then I'll have a bash at DIY refurbing the wheels myself.

I've also got Textar 2-piece discs and Textar pads in the garage ready for me to fit (once it's cooled down) with new OE BMWM wear sensors

Hardly been anywhere in it yet; but where I have been I've gone the long way round and it's a superb car; the engine is super-smooth and quiet; it pulls like a train as you'd expect too

I've already given it one Liqui Moly engine flush, new oil & filter and Liqui Moly Ceratec; I'll run that for a few weeks and then I'll repeat and go with a 5W40 oil, Mahle filter and Ceratec again

Long term plans are full cooling system and suspension overhaul and probably a set of Bilstein B12s; but for now, it'll do as it is

My home-office desktop system - M1 Mac Mini / SMSL DAC & ADAM Audio monitors

Just a quick pic to show off my new ADAM T5V monitors for my office desktop system - music/source is my M1 Mac Mini feeding my SMSL DO100 DAC via USB C and cables are Van Damme XLRs - stands are ones I bought off Amazon UK and I've mass-loaded them with Atacama Atabites leftover from my audiophile/hifi days - they do a superb job of weighting the stands down

It's a great system; my background noise system for when I'm working, and then my hifi system for when I was to listen to music (I have a nearly 80 year old Art Deco velour armchair I wheel into the 'sweet spot' 😂 or if I want to watch a movie in peace whilst the wife's watching her stuff on the TV etc

I don't mix/make music at all; I just prefer the true un-coloured sound from monitors over general hifi speakers and the ADAMs do all I need of them

I am thinking of getting the ADAM sub; but it's not a necessity, just a nice to have

My life post Cholecystectomy June 2023 - sorry for the long post...

Hi all,

I've joined this group hoping to connect with others who may have experienced something similar after gallbladder removal.

I had my gallbladder removed in June 2023 following severe cholecystitis and jaundice. Looking back, I did have some bowel changes and digestive discomfort afterwards, but at the time I was also dealing with a separate chronic pain issue (epididymitis) and was taking naproxen and dihydrocodeine following an epididymectomy in May 2023.

Those medications slowed my bowels significantly, so in hindsight I suspect they may have masked some of the digestive problems that were developing after my gallbladder removal.

Unfortunately, the testicular pain continued and I eventually underwent an orchiectomy in January 2024. I remained on pain medication until around April 2024, when I gradually weaned myself off.

That's when everything seemed to change.

Almost overnight I developed ongoing diarrhoea, urgency, nausea, bloating, retching, vomiting and persistent right upper quadrant (RUQ) pain under my ribs, often radiating around my side and into my back.

Between April and July 2024 I lost almost 5 stone due to the nausea, vomiting, retching and diarrhoea. I went from being a 22 stone, 6'4" competitive powerlifter to around 17 stone and so weak that I struggled to squat an empty Olympic bar. It was during this period that I was finally referred to Gastroenterology.

I underwent numerous investigations including CT scans, MRI scans, ultrasounds, endoscopy, colonoscopy and repeated blood tests. Everything came back normal apart from a SeHCAT scan, which confirmed bile acid malabsorption (BAM).

Initially I was prescribed cholestyramine, but it made me feel quite unwell and I struggled to tolerate it. I was then switched to colesevelam, which does help control the diarrhoea and urgency. Unfortunately, if I stay on it for too long it causes significant constipation, bloating and nausea, forcing me to stop it for periods. When I stop it, the diarrhoea and urgency return.

In June 2025 I was admitted to hospital for three days with mild pancreatitis after blood tests showed raised amylase levels. Since then I've continued to suffer with ongoing RUQ pain, nausea, retching and loose bowels.

I've also tried prochlorperazine for nausea, but again I struggle with the side effects if I take it continuously.

For pain management I've been prescribed tramadol, pregabalin and nortriptyline, but honestly none have provided significant relief and I'm currently in the process of reducing them.

In February 2026 I even paid privately for nerve block injections into my RUQ, at a cost of almost £3,000, but unfortunately they only worked for around three weeks before the pain returned.

This week has been particularly rough. Constant nausea, bloating, retching and very little appetite, despite keeping my fat intake as low as possible.

The thing I struggle with most is that whilst I fully accept my gallbladder needed to come out, at no point was I warned that complications such as BAM, chronic digestive issues, ongoing pain or long-term nausea could occur afterwards. Had I known these were recognised complications, at least I would have understood what might be happening when the symptoms started.

I'm now nearly three years post-surgery and still trying to understand whether all of this is simply severe post-cholecystectomy syndrome combined with BAM, or whether anyone else has experienced a similar journey.

Has anyone here dealt with ongoing RUQ pain, nausea, retching or vomiting long after gallbladder removal, even after being diagnosed and treated for BAM?

I'd be really interested to hear other people's experiences.

👍🏼

Pixel Watch 4 45mm straps 'modified' to use AWU Ultimal straps

One thing I've discovered today is that the narrower Pixel 4 45mm watch straps have the same expanding pin that holds the buckles on as the Apple Watch Ultra Ultimal straps that I have

Which means, what the pictures show - I'm very pleased with myself for this discovery 😂

But it also means that I can utilise the new Ultimal AWU straps I have for my Pixel Watch as I much prefer the Ultimal straps because they fit me well and they're well made

Unfortunately they don't make them for the Pixel Watch (just need to buy more cheap straps on Amazon UK now to bastardise them haha

Full convert from Apple to Google (well, almost) 🤣

I've literally this week moved from my Apple 'mobile' set up to Google

So M4 MacBook Air, iPhone 17 Pro Max and Apple Watch Ultra 3 sold on; and I've moved to a Lenovo Chromebook, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and the Pixel Watch 4 45mm

Very impressed with them all to be fair; but I still have my feet firmly in the Apple ecosystem with an M4 Mac Mini, M5 iPad Pro 13" and the Apple TV - the Mac Mini is my main home-office system, will never be without that

But as for the Watch 4; very impressed. It's got a great feel to it, a great look, and looks like a watch, not a mini iPhone 😂 and it's a nice size too. I don't have small arms or hands; but it doesn't look lost on me either

New to the current Google Pixel Fold, fold... 😂

I'm everything Apple; but getting bored with it all, bar my M4 Mac Mini which does all of it that I need it to; so decided it's time for a change and I'm selling off my M4 MBA, iPhone 17 Pro Max, AWU3 and moving across to the Google Eco system :)

I've ordered the Fold Pro 10 this afternoon, alongside the Pixel 4 45mm LT watch and a Lenovo Chomebook Plus (which arrives tomorrow); the Google phone and watch should be with me later in the week

Looking forward to getting back to Android; I did have the Samsung S24 Ultra and 1st Galaxy Watch Ultra a year or so back; but needed to move back to Apple for the contract I was in etc

As soon as it all lands I'll get some pictures up

But so far for the phone; I've got the Spigen front screen protector and the Slim Armor case on their way to me

After a 2 hour interior and exterior detail...

I'm bloody knackered 😂

Felt well enough to get the F31 cleaned this evening; it's very warm here in Lancashire, UK - so a good time to do it when the suns gone down and it's not going to dry the car off before you've even started

A good coating of AGs Rapid Ceramic Spray is the finishing touch

Potential next 'new to me BMW' - E60 530i N52 (UK)

Hi All

I'm considering an E60 as the potential new BMW to me here in the UK

I've had x5 BMW E39s inc x2 Japanese imports; an E65 730d M Sport in Le Mans Blue (stunning colour); an F01 730d SE Luxury (superb car and regretted selling that); and most recently an E81 130i LE with the N52 also

We currently have an F31 M Sport touring which is a superb car; that's now my wife's as she has to commute to her work 2-3 times a week; I'm fully remote / home-based so generally only use a car on the weekends

I've seen an late 2008 E60 530i M Sport that's a Japanese import; been in the UK around 2 years and bar a small scuff on the front bumper where someones caught it, it looks to be in superb condition, with just over 70k miles on it and it's a part leather / part cloth interior with heated seats and the rest of the usual gadgets (memory seats, power-fold mirrors, iDrive etc)

Having never owned an E60; but very familiar with the N52; what do I need to look for on the car specifically (bar checking codes etc which I'll do)

And for those either in the UK; or that live in countries where the roads aren't the best and you generally have to dodge potholes; how does the E60 ride on 18s and 19s, on non runflat tyres and on standard M Sport suspension?

The E60 looks superb on 19s, same with the E39s etc; but 18s always make better sense, and more so over winter etc
