questions about interlock device after dui in nsw what are my options

hey folks i got done for a dui a few months back in nsw and now ive gotta get this interlock thing fitted to drive again. its been a pain dealing with all the paperwork and im not sure about the rules around servicing or what happens if i miss a test or appointment.

i went with smart start interlocks for the install and they seem straightforward but im confused about the legal side like how long i have to keep it and if violations extend the time or affect other stuff. the costs add up quick with servicing and im worried about getting it wrong while trying to get back to normal life.

what exact rules apply for interlock breaches in nsw and any tips on staying compliant without extra stress? thanks for any advice guys

What's the nicest thing you've ever overheard someone say about you when they didn't know you were listening?

Not a compliment to your face. The accidentally overheard version, which always lands completely differently

what artist has the most recognizable sound instantly?

Some artists can play for literally two seconds and you already know exactly who it is. Not even because of the voice sometimes, but because their production, style, or overall vibe is so unique that nobody else really sounds like them.

I always find those artists more interesting because even if you don’t love every song, they still feel original and easy to recognize immediately. A lot of music today feels influenced by trends, so hearing someone with a truly distinct sound stands out even more.

Which artist do you think has the most recognizable sound? And what’s the first song that comes to mind when you think of them?

apartment hunting here feels like a second full time job now

I swear Austin apartment searching got so much more exhausting after like 2022 lol. Half the listings look good until you actually tour them and then it’s either “luxury” with paper thin walls or some random mandatory fee turns a $1700 place into $2100 somehow. What kinda surprised me though is how many people here apparently use apartment locators instead of doomscrolling Zillow for 4 hours a night. My coworker sent me this thing called One Place Locators a few weeks ago and I didn’t even realize that was a normal thing in Austin

not even trying to hype it up or anything, I just genuinely thought apartment locators were some outdated 90s business lol. But after talking to a few people here apparently they’re weirdly common if you’re relocating or trying to narrow down neighborhoods fast

anyway idk how some of yall move every year here. I think I’d rather fight I-35 traffic barefoot

Does anyone actually know what causes those painful under the skin pimples or is skincare just guessing?

Real question because I genuinely cannot crack the pattern.

Some months my skin is completely fine and then suddenly I get one of those painful deep pimples that feels like it has roots and a mortgage under my skin.

People say hormones. Stress. Dairy. Sleep. Dirty pillowcases. Looking at the moon incorrectly. I’m kidding. Sort of.

Have you actually figured out what triggers yours? Or does one just appear randomly to ruin your confidence for a week?

What's something you've never done that most people assume everyone has done?

Could be totally normal stuff. Driven a car, eaten a certain food, seen a famous movie. Whatever it is that makes people do the "wait, seriously?" face when you mention it

inherited this old lady in philadelphia and shes falling apart on me

so yeah my great aunt passed last winter left me her house in fishtown, sweet right? except not really cuz the place is a disaster zone, like she was 92 and didnt really keep up with stuff for maybe the last decade, no shade to her she was awesome but the house shows it

its a 1920s row home, brick exterior which is fine i guess but inside is a whole different story, the roof leaks in like three spots now, i put buckets out when it rains its kinda pathetic tbh, the basement floods every time we get a good storm, like standing water not just damp, electric is still the old knob and tube wiring which im told is a major fire risk, plaster is cracking and falling off in some rooms, and theres this smell i cant describe, like old and wet and musty combined, its not great

i got some contractors to come look and give me quotes cuz i thought maybe i could fix the big stuff then sell, but lol the numbers were wild, 15k for the roof, 12k for electric, basement could be 15-20 depending whats going on down there, plus theres some plumbing issues they found, i stopped asking after a while, i work a normal job, i dont have 40-50k sitting around, not even close

talked to a realtor and she was nice about it but basically said selling a house in this condition is hard, most buyers want something move in ready, flippers will lowball you, and it could sit on the market for months while im still paying taxes and insurance, not ideal

has anyone here sold an old house that needed major work to a cash buyer? how bad was the offer compared to what you thought it was worth? did they try to nickel and dime you after the inspection? and do i need a lawyer or is it as simple as they make it sound

i love this old house for sentimental reasons but i cant afford to love it anymore you know, just trying to figure out the least painful way out, any advice from people who been there would be awesome

why do people sometimes miss old versions of themselves more than old people?

sometimes nostalgia feels less about missing specific people and more about missing who you were during that period of life. is there a psychological reason people become emotionally attached to past versions of themselves like that?

First time in Greece. Is Naxos or Paros better for a "chill" vibe?

Hi everyone! I’m finally planning my first trip to Greece this September and I’m trying to narrow down my island hopping. I’ve heard amazing things about both Naxos and Paros, but I’m struggling to choose between them. I'm really looking for that perfect balance of beautiful, sandy beaches where I can relax all day, but also a town with some soul and great local tavernas for the evenings. I love the idea of wandering through those classic white-washed alleys without feeling like I'm in a massive tourist trap. If you had to pick one for a five-day stay, which one felt more authentic to you?

Thanks in advance for the help

Im heading to Sydney next month for the first time and im really keen to see some proper Australian wildlife. I already booked two tours, the full day Wild Wombat and Kangaroo Tour plus the Wild Bat Photo Experience. Both look pretty good and im excited about getting up close with kangaroos and wombats.

Still got one more free day and im wondering if there are any other must-do wildlife tours or experiences around Sydney that are actually worth it.

What are the best ones youve done or would recommend? Anything better than the standard zoo options?

I’m importing from China to the US and wondering if it’s better to split freight, warehousing, and FBA prep, or use one provider for all of it.

I’ve been looking at companie who handle China to US freight, US warehousing, and Amazon FBA prep with this perspective, but I’m not sure if that convenience is worth giving up some control.

For regular importers, what would you check before trusting one company with the full chain?

I’ve run my commercial cleaning business for years, focusing entirely on the Map Pack and citations. Lately, however, my new clients aren't saying "I clicked the map", they're saying "the AI recommended you".

I recently started working with an agency, they focus on "Answer Engine Optimization" rather than just old-school local SEO. They’re helping me use topic mapping and structured data to make sure we’re the authoritative source that AI search tools actually cite. It's a huge shift from just chasing reviews to feeding factual data to LLMs.

Has anyone else moved from traditional local SEO to "AEO"? Are you seeing better lead quality from AI recommendations compared to standard map clicks?

I am currently looking into the real cost of setting up a server for my business and it is a bit overwhelming.

I am trying to decide between buying a physical server to keep in the office or just going with a cloud provider, but the price range is huge. Some people say you can get by on $100 a month, while others are quoting thousands for hardware and professional setup.

With the hardware prices and memory costs this year, I am worried about overspending on something that might be overkill. I mainly need it for centralizing files, running a basic database, and handling some internal apps for a team of about 15 people.

I found a breakdown online on how much a server costs for small businesses, but I am still curious about the hidden costs like maintenance, security updates, and power if I go on-premise.

What has been your experience with server costs lately? If you are a small business owner, did you find it cheaper to manage your own hardware or just stick to a monthly subscription? I would love to hear some details on your current setup and any recommendations for a mid-range budget.

Thanks!

man I am so incredibly burnt out on living in what feels like a giant parking lot. I usually try to get out to the actual state parks on weekends but lately the heat index has been pushing 105 and the humidity is just suffocating. walking on urban asphalt right now literally feels like standing in front of an open oven

had to ditch my trail plans this weekend because the mosquito situation was apocalyptic and the trails were flooded anyway. Ended up just wandering around trying not to melt and eventually found this massive old oak canopy over by Glass and Vine. I just sat there for like two hours under the branches. didn't even care about doing anything active, just needed to feel the temperature instantly drop by 15 degrees under the leaves

it really makes you realize how vital established trees are in urban spaces. why do city planners just pave over everything instead of leaving these giant canopies intact? standing in the deep shade of a huge tree versus standing on a sidewalk a few feet away is basically the difference between breathing and suffocating right now. anyone else just feeling totally trapped by the summer pavement bake?

Been working with voice AI agents in customer support for the past year and wanted to get perspectives on which features actually deliver value.

Our setup: ~250 inbound support calls daily, mix of technical questions and basic inquiries. Started with basic IVR, now testing AI-powered analysis.

Features we're currently using:

Real-time sentiment tracking - This one surprised me. System flags when caller's tone shifts negative and can auto-escalate or alert supervisor. Caught escalations we would've missed. Actually prevents issues vs just documenting them.

Live transcription + keyword detection - Useful for compliance (recording disclosures, verbal approvals). Also helps with agent training - can flag when specific phrases are missed.

Post-call summaries - AI generates bullet points of what was discussed, action items, resolution. Saves probably 2-3 min per call on documentation. Scales well.

Talk/listen ratio tracking - Shows which agents dominate conversations vs actually listening. Helped with coaching - some agents were talking 75% of the time, wonder why customers seemed frustrated.

Call routing intelligence - Analyzes caller intent in first 20 seconds, routes better than traditional IVR. Reduced transfers by ~30%.

Questions for the community:

  1. Conversational AI handling calls entirely - anyone using this in production? How's accuracy for complex queries?
  2. Multi-language support - our customer base is getting more diverse. Which platforms handle accents/dialects well?
  3. CRM integration depth - is anyone doing automated ticket creation based on call content? Or still manual?
  4. Cost structure - per-minute vs per-call vs flat rate. What makes sense at different volumes?

Curious what features others prioritize or think are just marketing hype. Voice AI space feels crowded with overlapping claims.

Sometimes I feel like I get sweaty even when the temperature is fine. It makes me feel uncomfortable even though everything else is normal. Is this common or should I look into it more?
