My First Week Taking Creatine

Hi everyone,

A post about strength training and creatine.

So, I’ve been training for strength with weights for the past 3–4 years, more or less consistently.

My fitness trainer (back when I still had one) never mentioned or recommended creatine to me, although I had read and heard about it several times.

About a week ago, I happened to walk into a fitness supplement store more or less by chance — I normally buy my protein powder from an online store — mainly because I wanted to exchange a word or two with the saleswoman, and I ended up walking out of the store with 500 g of creatine.

To cut a long story short: I’ve been taking it for one week now, 5 grams every morning, and I’m genuinely surprised by the changes I can feel and that are also visible in my body after just one week of taking it. Some people might think I’m exaggerating, but I can honestly already see and feel a difference after just one week.

Question:
For those of you who have experience with creatine, I’d like to ask: is this more or less an initial “spike” effect that occurs when someone is introduced to creatine for the first time, and will this effect gradually diminish over time, bringing me closer to my original state — the “normal” state for my age, before I started taking creatine? Or is this actually a new state that will last and can be maintained as long as I continue taking creatine regularly?

Thanks!

Kreatin

Pozdrav vsem,

Hvala!

Kneeling Before the Pu**y

I had something of a profound experience during meditation that I'd like to share.

During my teenage years, I was circumcised, and I believe it left a lasting mark on me.

I have experienced both what it means to be intact and what it means to be circumcised.
For a very long time, I was unable to truly accept, recognize, and integrate this irreversible and final change, which, at least in my view, is a handicap at the very core of being a man. I respect that others may see it differently, but this is how see it.

The foreskin serves many functions. Some of them include protection: Providing comfortable, safe, and pleasant coverage while shielding the sensitive glans from friction, physical injury, and drying caused by constant exposure to air; Pleasure through the incomparable gliding effect, where the double-layered tissue moves smoothly back and forth over the shaft and glans; Maintaining natural moisture and lubrication, reducing the need for additional lubricants. There are many more functions, but that isn't the subject of this post, so I'll leave that for another time.

For a man, the penis is his center, in the sense described by Sasha Cobra (a therapist and energy worker whose work explores the intersection of spirituality and sexuality).

To kneel before it. To honor it.
On the other hand, I believe the pu**y is the complementary pole—the one before which many men do not know how to kneel or bow, choosing instead often to trivialise it.

For a man, the pu**y is the ultimate.
It is the essential thing. A source of awe as well as fear and discomfort.

I think many men are afraid of that depth, that mystery.
How many men today are truly capable of bowing before that mystery, that depth, secret, source, that enigma?

The pu**y has the power to reduce you to something insifgnificant —or to elevate you to the highest heights.

Raw onion breath solutions (no gum, no fresh mint)

Hi,

I regularly eat raw onion.

My problem is the breath afterwards.

Unfortunately, common solutions don't work for me: -Chewing gum is not an option because I don't tolerate artificial sweeteners well -Fresh mint or parsley are usually not practical because I'm often away from home and don't have them with me.

So far I've found these possible alternatives:

  1. Drinking water and rinsing my mouth.
  2. Cleaning my tongue (and brushing teeth if possible).
  3. Eating an apple after the meal.
  4. Having a high-protein skyr, cottage cheese after eating raw onion.

ChatGPT suggested an interesting solution to me:

1.) Chewing 1–2 roasted coffee beans for a few minutes, or briefly rinsing with coffee.

2.) Mix ½ teaspoon of ground coffee with a glass of lukewarm water, rinse/gargle for 30–60 seconds, then spit it out and rinse your mouth with plain water..

Which of these ideas do you think actually work or are worth trying?

Which ones actually made a noticeable difference for "raw onion breath" ?

Thanks!

Inspiring Life Stories [Discussion]

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for inspiring real-life stories of people who faced what seemed like impossible personal limitations or circumstances and still managed to live a meaningful, inspiring life.

One example would be Nick Vujicic — someone born without arms and legs who became an inspiration to many people.

I’m interested in people who overcame things such as severe disability, illness, trauma, poverty, imprisonment, loss, or other extreme life challenges.

I’m especially interested in stories where themes like: gratitude, inner strength, resilience, faith, acceptance. .. are part of the message.

Do you know any people, books, documentaries, interviews.. that fit this kind of theme?

Thank you.

Gratitude (Looking for authors, books, documentaries, talks)

Hello everyone,

I’m interested in the topic of gratitude and I’m looking for books, documentaries, lectures, podcasts, or other resources that explore this theme in a meaningful way.

Have any of you come across authors, thinkers, psychologists, philosophers, mystics, entrepreneurs... who speak or write about gratitude?

I’m especially interested in works that offer a thoughtful, inspiring, or original perspective on gratitude

Thank you for any recommendations.

Breaking Bad vs La casa de papel

Hi,

There are many reasons I like Breaking Bad, that wasn't just the acting, carachters; plot; humor; drama...

Walter White didn't feel completely evil to me. He seemed like a man whose unresolved personality traits, ego, frustrations slowly - as someone that seems that didn't fully live- led him down a path that destroyed his life and the lives of many others.
Many characters created their own hell through their choices. A self-created hell that seemed hard to get out of.

Walter White was standing at a crossroads
Given his situation and perspective as far as he was able to see in his mind.
It seems that he could have remained kind of the invisible, overlooked man, undervalued high-school teacher (which became apparent when money entered the picture, particularly when it came to paying for his treatment of cancer)...or he could take the wild, adventures path that made him finally feel alive but was broadly socially and personally destructive

I think that the show also raises some questions:
-The way we perceive money, how we relate to it, and where we place it in our hierarchy of values.
-To think how money can probably sometimes become a curse
-a system and societal conformity and whether we should accept society's values or think for ourselves and accept that maybe sometimes to be lead by the system's value will not neccesserily lead us to a good place
-What if Walter had simply accepted charity and job offer ? What if he had found another way to express himself, to be creative (and was that even possible in his situation and position) ?

Perhaps there isn't really a clear overall message or final moral. It's more about giving you something to think so I would like to hear you opinion?

And there is is another show that many people seem to like as well: La Casa de Papel.
Do any of you like this show?

I think I’m done with hostels

I think I’m done staying in hostels when I travel.

Even though my last hostel actually offered quite a bit of privacy (small capsule-style rooms), I still realized it’s probably not for me anymore.

Here are my reasons:

  • poor sleep quality (snoring and other sleep disturbances)
  • sharing bathrooms with a large number of people
  • you never really know what could get stolen (people constantly coming and going)
  • living with complete strangers of all kinds of personalities
  • ...

What are the best alternatives for traveling as cheaply as possible while still having your own private bathroom and a small kitchen?

So basically some kind of mini studio apartment?

Thanks.

Thomas W. Campbell (physicist)

Hi!

Is anyone familiar with physicist Thomas W Campbell and his bok "My Big TOE"? On of his claim is that consciousness is fundamental.

My question would be: is anyone familiar has he ever talked about Jesus?

Has Thomas W. Campbell ever explicitly mentioned Jesus in his books, interviews, podcasts, or MBT discussions?

I know he usually avoids traditional religious language, but I’m curious whether he ever talked directly about Jesus?

If possible, please share:

* exact quotes * book names / chapters * podcast or interview links

Thanks!
