From porch. I snuck around from the back and sure enough the kitten/cat was on my front porch. But they ran back into the wood line. So I then set the food and water on the front porch. I tried doing kitten calls for a second but to no avail. Here’s a pic I got on my outdoor camera tho. Does this look like a kitten or adult cat? Either way I think it would really amazing to be able to somehow get her/him and take her:him to the vet and then Salem would have a playmate. Salem is around 12 weeks old now. Can anyone give me any ideas on how to potentially catch him/her so I can take him/her to the vet? This baby is very feral. I’m not sure why he:she was meowing at the back then at the front but I would love to add him:her to my household 🥹

I swear I got so lucky to have been able to be the one to rescue her from the woods 🥺 she’s got the best personality. She’s soft as silk now! Growing immensely! I gave her Credelio flea/tick medicine today because she had Nexguard Combo on June 26. She’s up to date on all vaccines and worming. She’s due to be spayed in October when she’s 6 months old. I love her so much! I can’t say enough how much I (and Salem) enjoy this compassionate community of people here on r/kittens as well. It fills my heart with joy to see people on here rescuing kittens alike and also updating about my precious baby Salem.

I never imagined I would love an animal so much. She senses when I wake up and comes running to greet me and will jump up on the bed purring and meowing if she isn’t already in the bed asleep! She understands what “get the ball means” on her cat toy that has cardboard in the middle for scratching & a ball that goes around and around if she hits it with her paw. She’s become a food critic with all the kitten foods and treats I’ve let her try! She also loves playing hide n seek!

She loves getting in the sink *right when I’m about to brush my teeth lol. She inspects every corner and tbh my house has never been CLEANER since having her because I vacuum daily now instead of waiting. When I do leave for work or town she always greets me at the door and meows lovingly and wants me to pick her up. She loves looking out the windowsill 🪟 as well. She brought me a moth she caught the other day as a token of kindness and it was admittedly the sweetest thing ever 🥺

As you can see I’ve looked at Placidus. Whole sign. Vedic. Was told by a traditional Vedic astrologer I’d need to move to make money or something. Idk. I’m just trying to figure out how to literally stop getting delayed with everything I try to do. I can’t make this stuff up. I’m such a good person.

Here are some real life examples of my life…

got $15,000 inheritance at 19 and then got hit with a custody battle that exhausted every bit of it which just resulted in my ex getting every other weekend after supervised visits bc he couldn’t pass a hair follicle drug test and I voluntarily done one.

Horrible toxic abusive relationship that lasted way too long in high school with someone older and he took advantage of my age and vulnerability. More toxic abusive relationships followed.

My parents are pretty well off but my dad is a POS alcoholic that cheated on my mom and broke our happy family up after 17 yrs of marriage and 3 kids and he married an evil woman.

Two bio brothers one passed in 2023 at 30 years old from alleged suicide per the coroner but that’s still hard to believe. Other brother has been in and out of prison or jail or rehab since before I could even drive and assaulted me and broke into my home in 2021 and took my phone so I couldn’t call 911 and gave me severe ptsd and recurring nightmares for a long time.

I lost a child that I was very excited about having and that tore me to pieces and I grieved for forever about that.

Almost finished my first degree and right before taking my exam I stopped to help someone voluntarily and the cops started harassing me and hit me with a DUI so I couldn’t take the exam while there were pension charges and the case was DISMISSED because I was NOT DUI and took a breathalyzer and blood test to prove it. So I needed to redo the entire course but after the case was dismissed…
a hurricane hit. Then when that passed…

in 2025 my car completely just broke down and became a money pit and didn’t even have 100k miles and I had zero credit and it was a very hard year where I had Saturn return and Sade sati overlapping. So without a car I couldn’t work in the field I’d wanted to work in that required a car. I fixed my credit and did end up getting a new car this year that I now only owe $5,000 on and it’s only got 4k miles but it was through blood sweat and tears that I have it. Within the first 800 miles I scrubbed my tire and rim and that cost $980 to replace then I took my car through a car wash and their conveyor belt happened to mess up and it was a tidal wave auto spa and I had just gotten this car, fixed the tire and rim brand new and their conveyor jolted me forward violently 3x and they blamed it on a car in front of me pressing their brakes so I had to drive out of town to pay for an inspection to be done due to being worried about sensors.

I got a job I really wanted and my abusive ex’s wife worked there and I found that out on day 2 and it seemed like a sick joke and she gave my abusive ex my number to bully me and I resigned because of how hostile it was and knew it wouldn’t end well for me. I worked really hard to get hired at this job.

I forgot to mention when I was able to secure a rental car in 2025 after my car was shot and after I’d literally walked to work in the rain because I refused to accept a car from carvana at 29% interest rate that within the first week of having the rental a cement truck passed me and cement rocks flew out and broke the rental windshield and I couldn’t prove it was them and couldn’t stop in traffic and despite having a police report had to pay $850 to fix the windshield while actively trying to save for a vehicle of my own. That was September 2025 - the week of my birthday too. In December 2025 2 deer ran out in front of me and I had to pay a $1,000 deductible on that rental car.
2024 I had a woman run into the back of my car at a Chick-fil-A drive through and another run into the back of my car at a road work site.

This is random but 2011 I got my first car and it got totaled because my blood sugar bottomed out and I flew out of my car and lost consciousness completely.
2018 I got a newer car that was cert pre owned with only 7k miles and after owning it 11 days a deer ran out and after the deductible and insurance claim it never drove right again then a few months later a woman was texting and driving and hit me head on while I was stopped at a turning lane and totalled my car and I got whiplash and some injuries from that.

I could go on and on and on really. My life has been turmoil. I was given a brand new mobile home to live in so the one bill I wouldn’t have is rent which I realize is a such a blessing and was given it in 2017 and it only had a 1 year warranty and due to it not being built right or wrapped it needs a minimum of $20,000 in repairs and it’s not even a decade old and half the walls are damaged from rain I don’t have that kind of money as I’ve been dealing with bills food life getting a new car in this awful economy… and just had to replace a door on said home that cost $700 because it flooded 2 weeks ago and rain was coming in through my door knob and casing and it was a nightmare and guess what? It rained yesterday and the new door is leaking despite replacing the entire door, knobs. And casing around the door. My relationships as aforementioned have never been healthy. And every single time I try my hardest to get ahead in life.. nope.
I’m tired of looking at the silver lining I’ve been doing that for 30 years. I mean the first 7 years of life were amazing. But the last 23 have been absolutely horrendous. I have sleep apnea diagnosed at 25 and CPAP failed due to intolerance so I had to save up thousands to get a dental appliance and CT scans and I have a small airway and my jaw did not grow out far enough during puberty but my first custom device didn’t fit… second one broke in 3 days.. third one worked fine from March of this year until June and now it’s just not working anymore.
I’m just tired. I feel blocked in everything. I’m passionate about spirituality and mediation and excel at things like that and love reading occult books. But I’m just seriously exhausted and can’t say that enough.

She goes with me everywhere and will get to see the world 🌎 as my only pet she’s the most spoiled girl! She loves me and I love her so much. Once a wild baby kitten in the woods to living a life of luxury now

Figure things out when I had no idea what to do

I grabbed these in a rush at petsmart the day I rescued her and am seeing online all kinds of differing opinions such as “don’t feed your cat dry food” and “Iams is the worst” and “big companies pay the vets to recommend certain brands”. I have 6 cans of fancy feast wet food on the way Sunday.
Can someone please weigh in on what to do? Thank you.

She was exhausted, dehydrated, starving. she would not have survived another day or so. I called two local vets in my area and shockingly enough the “good vet” told me that it would be July 7 or the other vet petsmart uses told me June 30. The “good vet” turned us away and I was anxious because I have never had a kitten and didn’t even have a pet. I told them it was an emergency during business hours as I didn’t know if the kitten would make it and was willing to pay extra fees and didn’t know if it were a him or her or how old but that he/she really needed to be seen and I didn’t care about the price . They told me to go to petsmart. 😭

so I went to petsmart and they actually helped me find stuff to the best of their ability - shoutout to Wesley that works at PetsMart in Douglas, Georgia (United States) for caring and helping me because I didn’t know about certain things that I needed. NO shoutout to the “highly rated” vet in my area that gave me a July 7 date. And shoutout to you guys for helping me in the best way possible by telling me to move the litter box further away, telling me about dawn soap with the duck for fleas in the meantime, telling me the estimated weeks old she may be, telling me about a flea comb, having love and compassion, helping a new owner of a precious baby kitty that was really skittish at first due to being out in the elements abandoned for this long. She was so scared and in fight or flight mode. Thank you all for so much compassion. So much love. And for cheering me on and being gentle with me when I didn’t know what to do.

She has put on weight in the last few days and I drove out of town to an ever BETTER rated vet than my local one today! They actually took me seriously that this baby needed to be seen! I ended up going to Northside Animal Hospital & Urgent Care in Valdosta, Georgia and the vet confirmed he/she is actually a SHE! 🖤
the out of town vet Dr. Myron Graham was amazing and done worming and testing!

They also said she was NEGATIVE for feline leukemia & aids! They gave me some liquid nexguard which I’m attaching below a pic in the comments of because I need to put it on her since we just got home!

I named her Aset after an Egyptian Goddess 🖤🐈‍⬛

oh and they said she was 8 or 9 weeks old and got some shots and that I’d come back in 3 weeks to get more shots like rabies and other things and also more nexguard because it would be monthly for fleas/ticks!

Such a wonderful wonderful thing and great day and time spent making sure this baby was okay and also it only cost $194 which was really reasonable - if the local vet would have seen my kitten when I called the emergency line I would have paid them $500+ that day.

I’ll be continuing to go out of town and now I can rest a little easier at night. No ringworm. Checked for ear mites. I’m so happy 😀

Petsmart gave me some wormer and receipt is posted. Idk how old he or she is and am quite frankly aggravated with the vets because this kitten has been in the elements . Can anyone gauge how old he:she is? I gave wormer they drew up in a vial. And got the basics food, carrier, toy, litter box and will keep her/him inside. She’s super skittish but sweet as ever.

I just got told yesterday by a traditional Vedic astrologer that my Jupiter looks good and that I need to move from my native place but that’s kinda hard because where I’m at I don’t have a rent payment but it does make sense because I want to move and be able to work online doing e-commerce and services online so I don’t get harassed by my abuser of the past. I don’t have any younger siblings, my brother passed in 2023 at 30. And my only other sibling assaulted me in 2022 and has been in and out of prison so naturally we do not speak.
It seems like every time I’m almost to the finish line or financial independence like getting my real estate license I get hit with things begin my control. I had a thriving TikTok business in 2024 that the same abusive ex found and started saying how he was going to send my livestreams about spirituality to my child’s father and family who’s very Christian and disagrees with anything not Christian so I shut it down and I hate I had to do that but that was another thing that I loved doing and was good at. I’m in the process of restarting said TikTok like I’d done previously as it brings me and others joy. And I’d love to get out of this small town. My dad… it’s been up and down and we haven’t spoken in years and he hasn’t been really supportive of me from the time my parents got a divorce because he was a cheater. I love my mom but she has many health problems and just got into a car accident this March where a company truck in the wrong hit her and totallled her car and she ended up in ER.

I just want a normal simple life. I love nature. I want a mortgage on my own piece of land in a different place far away from this local place..! My relationships since high school have been terrible so if the current one didn’t work then maybe I’d just settle for single. But I’m simple. I love reading. I love learning. I love cooking and watching documentaries and exercising and collecting moldavite. Financially things have been hard. Obstacles galore. The Vedic astrologer said I was in a Saturn period known as sadesati until 2027. I would love to consult this astrologer for a full session but it’s $399 and I spent over that amount earlier in the year for an astrologer to tell me many things but specifically that my relationship would be great during the first half of the year and that couldn’t have been further from the truth because March 21-most of April it was terrible.. I was told by the 2024 Vedic astrologer lady that wealth would come by early 40s.

So my main question would be why does it seem like every time I try to better my life some unknown force happens I can’t control (false DUI, abusive ex and associates locally harassing and law enforcers don’t care, hurricane, car completely stopped working, relationship issues also intertwined with work so when things fall apart I’m emotionally and financially torn). I’d be happy to just mortgage a small 3 bedroom 1 bath house on an acre of land and work 8-5 from home or if in a town without harassment in an office and just live a normal boring life because that brings me joy and plant a garden and meditate. Simple things bring me joy. But even the most simple things seem to get destroyed over and over. I do believe in past lives. I’m a good person. So I must’ve royally messed up in my past lives. How can just get to the point where I’m independently stable at the very least. It’s unbelievable what I’ve been through up until this point, truly. So I just ask for any gleam of hope.

Also I know we have choices in life but I do believe many things are simply going to happen and that’s why astrology is here. Western astrology is way too vague and general for me.
