Is there any way to repair this Quest 2 headstrap at home?

My quest 2 has been collecting dust for a year. After using it for like 20 mins the top headband fell apart and I'm not sure how to put it back together. Given that it's just a piece of velcro and some glue I gather it's somehow possible to fix without being a replacement part but I'm not sure how. Does anybody have any resources that could help? I doubt Im the first this has happened to

Pro-tip, Block your websites from storing cookies. It will kill their recommendation engines

What worked for be wasnt going cold-turkey. First I maintain two browsers, one for the addictive crap like youtube, social media etc so there's a clear seperation. Then I also avoid logging into accounts and also blocking cookies for those sites. Youtube in particular is bad for this, endlessly recommending content based on 1 video view. Now I just need to hit refresh once and their homepage becomes empty and has nothing to recommend.

Managed to kick tiktok, facebook and insta out my life this way. All that's left are youtube and reddit which I'll still use but at highly reduced rates.

Website is getting a lot of daily junk/bot traffic. Beyond cloudflare, is there anything else I could be doing to mitigate it

https://preview.redd.it/jhxf4di76teh1.png?width=2112&format=png&auto=webp&s=f41b8a179fee4d5b61e1c407c3bc3b17d114e234

As per the title, the image above shows my cloudfare 24 hour traffic, it's a pretty much all junk as the website is still in development with no real users.

They like to hammer a few specific pages, with one page getting 10k hits daily. I've setup cloudflare rules to prevent bots, blocking most crawling user agents, blocking a bunch of url patterns, on top of the usual robots.txt but it's still fairly bad.

I'm not persistently logging then blocking specific ips yet (partially because I dont know how). Is there anything else that I could be doing?

My page website is fairly page heavy, exposing around 1000 pages in the sitemap but still I didnt expect so much malicious traffic so quickly

Building the ultimate ufc stats tool. Records, trends and fight annotations. Broken down all-time, annually, by gender, by decade and more

This is part of a broader martial arts project FightLegacy.com, which is aiming to be a general purpose imdb style platform for martial arts. The above example just focuses on the ufc for a tool that will be pushed to all organizations.

This feature is able to take fight data and transform them into a range of fighter 30+ stats and trend graphs that can be searched by users. Broken down into time categories like all-time, per decade, annually along with other filters by gender division, nationality etc.

It can also do the inverse so if a person appears in any of the above leaderboards, going to their profile will aggregate all of their leaderboard positions.

Some examples

- Jim has the #6 fastest win in 2010-2020
- Jim has the #15 fastest submission in 2026
- Jim is the #20 of Americans most fights of all time

How it started vs how it's going (martial arts website)

A before and after of my terrible design skills. Still a long way to go. I read somewhere that showing faces builds trust, i think it's a bit better

What are your go to apps for general website/backend management and monitoring

As per the title what are some apps that u use that you consider must haves for general website and backend management. Currently I just use events on my backend that trigger messages in my own discord channel and a basic ssh app on the rare occasion I need to manually restart my server when away from my machine.

Ideally free apps so this doesn't turn into a thread of shilling their products

Working on a project documenting martial arts history. How would you label founders of martial arts when it involves multiple people. For example, BJJ where there's Helios, Carlos and Maeda. Would you consider them all founders or something else

As per the title, I'm working on a martial arts database for lineages, weaponry and general history. When it comes to the creation of a new martial arts where they are multiple people involved, who do you consider a founder vs influential figure vs early practioner. Using bjj as an example, you have Maeda and the two Gracies, helios and Carlos. Go to any bjj gym and you'll mostly see photos of helios while the others barely get a nod. Just wondering what everybody's stance is.

Link if youre interested, it's not ready for usage but feel free to skim

There are many clones of Fist of Fury. Did nobody legally protect their movies in the early era?

Im working on a martial arts movie project and I'm discovering so many named clones of popular movies. Using fist of fury as an example there are many movies all containing this name in the title.

- New Fist of Fury (Jackie Chan)
- The Last Fist of Fury (koren)
- The Return of Fist of Fury
- Fist of Fury (1991)
- Return of Fist (still a clone but at least it doesnt use the actual name)

I recall John Romero failed to protect his Night of the living dead zombie movies which lead to a lot of 'of the Dead' clones. Is this a similar case or did Hong Kong cinema just not protect their movies in general at the time

Are there any good resources that compile a list of hollywood movie/tv show martial art practitioners?

I'm building a project, part of it involves cataloging a list of famous to semi famous martial artists . Anything from household names like Bruce Lee, Keanu Reaves, to lesser known ranging from Micheal Jai White or even power rangers actors. I'm aiming to catalogue a wide spectrum.

Does anybody know of any good resources beyond manually crawling through imdb and wikipedia
