Hi everyone,I’m not Vietnamese, but I’ve been watching the Vietnamese national football team recently and I am seriously impressed. Their style of play, work ethic, and tactical discipline are amazing to watch. As an outsider, I’ve officially become a fan of Vietnamese football! How did they become so good?

I really hope they manage to qualify for the upcoming World Cup. Seeing them on the biggest stage would be incredible, and they definitely deserve it!

Ik kom net van een avondje Rotterdam en ik heb eerlijk gezegd nog nooit zóveel mensen gezien die op straat bedelen of duidelijk met mentale problemen kampen. Ik werd zelfs benaderd door een prostituee. 😬

Ik kwam vroeger dagelijks in Rotterdam en in al die tijd heb ik het eerlijk gezegd nooit zo erg gezien als vanavond. Misschien komt het doordat ik er nu extra op lette, maar het viel me echt enorm op.

Ik zag mensen die duidelijk dakloos waren, iemand die op blote voeten heen en weer liep en meerdere mensen die om wisselgeld vroegen. Het verbaasde me echt.

Ik dacht altijd dat Nederland het op sociaal gebied behoorlijk goed voor elkaar had. Natuurlijk zijn armoede, dakloosheid en psychische problemen nooit helemaal uit te bannen, maar het contrast vond ik opvallend. Aan de ene kant zie je overal mensen lachen, uitgaan en genieten (en dat gun ik iedereen natuurlijk), terwijl je een paar meter verderop mensen ziet die duidelijk ernstig met zichzelf worstelen.

En ik meen het echt als ik zeg tijdens mijn vakantie in Marokko ben ik volgens mij minder vaak benaderd met de vraag of ik nog wat kleingeld had dan vanavond in Rotterdam. 😵

Er is in Nederland volgens mij genoeg werk, dus ik vraag me vooral af wat is hier misgegaan? Is de geestelijke gezondheidszorg en opvang in Nederland zo overbelast? Is dakloosheid zichtbaarder geworden? Of valt het in Rotterdam gewoon extra op door het uitgaansleven?

Ben benieuwd hoe Rotterdammers hier zelf tegenaan kijken.

Nigeria failing to qualify for the World Cup is obviously disappointing, but what worries me more is that it doesn’t seem to be an isolated problem. We’ve seen setbacks with both the men’s and women’s national teams, as well as at youth level.

So I’m wondering: is Nigeria still a top footballing nation, or is it slowly falling behind?

Where do you think things went wrong? Is it the NFF, poor organisation, coaching, youth development, infrastructure, the domestic league, player development, or something else?

And should we still consider Nigeria one of the favourites for the AFCON, or have countries like Morocco, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Egypt overtaken Nigeria in terms of structure and long term development?

I’d also be interested to hear which African countries you think Nigeria should look at as examples. What are they doing better?, particularly when it comes to developing young players and building a strong national-team system?

For me, the fact that we’re seeing problems across the men’s team, women’s team and youth teams makes it difficult to dismiss this as simply bad luck or one bad generation.

What needs to change, and which African countries should Nigeria learn from?

This subreddit suddenly popped up on my feed, so I started browsing through it out of curiosity. One thing that really surprised me is how highly educated everyone here seems to be. I’ve also noticed that some people are looking for a second or even third wife, while others seem to be struggling to find a partner at all, which I find quite interesting.

I’m of Moroccan background and live in the Netherlands. There’s a fairly large Moroccan community here of around 430,000 people, and most people tend to get married around their mid-20s. I honestly don’t know anyone who is seriously looking to get married and goes around saying, “I have a master’s degree,” as if that’s the main selling point.

Thankfully, divorce rates within the community aren’t particularly high either. So I’m genuinely curious: why don’t more of you look for a spouse within your own communities? Or is it that you feel like there simply aren’t enough Muslims around you who are compatible?

Just genuinely curious, not trying to judge anyone. I’d be interested to hear how people here see it.

Malawi has a great team! I didn’t even know they had world-class players. Malawi should really invest in this team. What a joy to watch! And this is coming from someone who isn’t even Malawian, by the way. Anyone else going to the final in Morocco?

Im moroccan i have watched many games of him and im very suprised rangers only paid 8,5 million euro for him,he is very fast and strong, never understood why morocco didnt call him up for the world cup because abde of real betis was injured i guess im gonna watch more games of rangers,do you guys think he is gonna be a starter? Ik ben benieuwd of iemand juridisch advies of ervaring heeft met deze situatie.

Ik heb een Wajong-uitkering van vóór 2015 en ben destijds aangemerkt als iemand met arbeidsvermogen. Op papier betekent dit dat ik zou kunnen werken, maar op dit moment lukt dat door mijn beperkingen niet. Misschien verandert dat in de toekomst, misschien pas over vele jaren, maar nu heb ik geen arbeidsinkomen.

Mijn kind heeft veel extra zorg nodig en ik wil daarom graag de extra kinderbijslag bij intensieve zorg aanvragen. Ik begrijp dat er voorwaarden zijn rondom inkomen uit arbeid, maar ik loop tegen iets aan wat ik moeilijk te begrijpen vind.

Omdat ik een Wajong heb met arbeidsvermogen, lijkt het erop dat ik niet onder de uitzondering voor volledig en duurzaam arbeidsongeschikten val. Daardoor zou ik mogelijk geen recht hebben op het extra bedrag.

Wat ik lastig vind aan deze regeling:

Ik kan nu niet werken en kan dus ook niet aan de inkomenseis voldoen.

Mijn kind heeft wel extra zorg nodig en de kosten daarvan zijn er gewoon.

Als ik in de toekomst wél weer kan werken en daardoor voldoende arbeidsinkomen heb, zou ik mogelijk ineens wél recht hebben op dit bedrag.

Ik vraag me af hoe dit juridisch wordt bekeken. Is dit alleen een kwestie van de wettelijke regels waar de SVB aan gebonden is, of is er ruimte om mijn persoonlijke situatie mee te wegen? Kan er bijvoorbeeld een beroep worden gedaan op het gelijkheidsbeginsel of een andere juridische grond?

Zijn er mensen die ervaring hebben met bezwaar tegen een afwijzing van de SVB in een vergelijkbare situatie?

Ik ben van Marokkaanse afkomst, geboren en opgegroeid in Nederland. Ik ben de tweede generatie. Misschien klinkt dit gek als je het van een Nederlandse Marokkaan hoort, maar zo voel ik me echt.

Soms mis ik de tijd van vroeger. Toen waren de meeste huisartsen, tandartsen en overige artsen nog geboren en getogen nederlanders ongeacht afkomst.

Mijn tandarts komt uit Syrië. Ik praat de helft van de tijd Engels met hem en de andere helft gebrekkig Nederlands. Daardoor voelt het soms alsof je minder makkelijk een band opbouwt met je tandarts.

Mijn vrouw en ik hebben besloten om dit jaar in Nederland te blijven. Wat ons opvalt, is dat de vakantieparken en stranden erg druk zijn. De hele samenstelling van de samenleving is veranderd en Nederland is veel drukker geworden. Dat merk je eigenlijk in alles op straat, in de winkels, in het verkeer en op vakantie.

Ik ga eerlijk zijn ik snap heel goed dat veel mensen vinden dat er niet steeds meer mensen bij moeten komen in Nederland. Zo voel ik dat ook.

Ik kan me nog herinneren dat ik als Nederlands-Marokkaanse jongen een van de weinige kinderen met een migratieachtergrond was, samen met een paar Turkse en Surinaamse Nederlanders.

Laatst hadden mijn vrouw en ik het er nog over. Vroeger voelde alles veel meer gemengd. Onze vriendengroep bestond uit autochtone Nederlanders en mensen met verschillende achtergronden. Mijn beste vriend had twee moeders. Het waren de aardigste mensen van de buurt en niemand maakte daar een probleem van. Onze ouders maakten altijd gezellig een praatje met elkaar.

Waar is die tijd gebleven? Ik mis die tijd van vroeger.

Why did we fear france? Hakimi bouaddi played their worst games, why didnt we just play like before, this is a serious problem i wouldnt be angry if we lost but we basicly did nothing to prevent it, bonou,mazraoui,diop played good salahedine and amrabat werent bad, again why did we not just played our game,? Why oh why? If you look at the history those africans wont be mentioned in the history books it will be a france win and if you look at lamine yamal they were saying go back to morocco and racist slurs like how tf can you choose for a country that threated your people that badly,when morocco won against the netherlands the black players of the netherland were targeted with racist slurs, it doesnt feel right seeing my african brothers choosing for france or spain, i can accept if it was a country that has nothing to do with the colonial past, but france was very bad for us africans what they did to algeria is beyond words and there you see mbappe olise Zidane cherki choosing france???

Though 9 out of 10 afcon teams reached the R32 i cant say its a succes because of the new format of 48 teams and the third 8 place qualification to the next round.

So basicly only morocco and Egypt have performed,

The others did great like cape verde almost winning against argentina,

Senegal and ivory coast with all the talent they have need to improve alot more for the coming world cup, because they all have the talent but not the complete package to succeed.

How do you guys rate this world cup for africa?

There is no shame to lose to france they are a very good side, lets enjoy the game
