apartment help / evergreen rock maple

hello!
my partner and i are looking at moving to the evergreen rock maple apartments. we toured a few apartments there and really liked it. i was wondering if anyone here lives there and would be willing to share what their electricity bills look like? i obviously dont mean actual pictures, but im just wondering if its around $80 a month or is it more like $200+ a month? i’ve never had an apartment so im trying to budget and prepare the best i can.

if anyone has anymore info on that apartment complex it would be greatly appreciated!

(i copy pasted from r/olympia because i figured i’d get a little more help here, if it looks familiar that’s why 🫡)

color trouble?

hello! i am still very new to beading but i was wondering how you guys find beads that have such a good gradient next to each other? are you buying packs? and if so where from? i went to my local craft store to find some and they just had a couple shades of each color, and what’s up with hardly being able to find yellow, green, or purple beads?? i see beautiful patterns i want to try but i never seem to have the right colors😔.

another question: how do yall make sure you have enough beads of a certain color before you start? is it just one of those things you wing and pray to the bead gods you’ll have enough?

thank you for your advice and any direction / peace of mind you can provide ( :

surfs up inspired bead piece

hey! i posted in here a day or two ago about needing to find a surfs up related pattern to make something for my sibling! i could NOT for the life of me find anything anywhere so i ended up having to make one (: here is the final project, it’s also the first pattern i’ve ever made from “scratch” i figured i’d post the finished product here incase anyone was interested in seeing it!

pic 1: on the loom
pic 2: finished piece (:

need help finding a pattern please!

(i know this isn’t necessarily perler beads but i feel like i might be able to convert the pattern for what im needing? beaders helping beaders right?😅)

hello! i REALLY want to make my sibling a “surf’s up” inspired seed bead piece for their birthday(maybe a bookmark or something they can hang on their wall) but i cannot for the life of me find any kind of pattern anywhere🫩. do you guys have any kind of idea on where i could find one? or have you ever seen any? or would i be better off making my own & if thats the case how would i even go about doing that? i have procreate and have used it in the past for patterns but it’s really tedious and i’ve never tried making a pattern based off a photo. i was thinking if i was unable to find a pattern (whether that be an alpha (?) pattern, cross stitch, basically anything with squares) i would just open procreate and have the picture layered under a grid then just fill in the squares that way. i’ve seen other character designs and they always look somewhat like the character, im just worried if i make my OWN it wont even resemble what im going for.

😂 i included some pictures to give an idea of what im talking about. i’m preferably looking for a pattern i can use on a loom (like the ones on bracelet book) but if there’s an actual pattern that requires peyote or brick stitch then i guess ill learn how to do those for my sibling!

thank you for helping a beader out🤙

p.s. anything chicken joe related would also be insanely appreciated because im like 98% sure thats their favorite character (big z’s shell necklace would be cool too)

p.p.s read the rules before posting and just making sure this is clear: i am not trying to advertise anything, just need help finding a pattern.

borderline balding baddie 🫩

TLDR at end (sorry not sure where i should put it).

hello! i will start this off by saying i USED to have thick hair that went down to my butt. after i graduated high school i wanted to cut 12” to donate, the hair “salon” i went to ended up cutting over 18” and since then ive tried out the shorter haircuts and preferred them for a little bit due to them being much less maintenance that i was ever used to. recently ive been trying to grow my hair back out but over the last few years (maybe about 4) i’ve noticed a significant decrease in the amount of hair i actually have on my head (and that’s not just from it being shorter haha).

my mom used to braid my hair at least weekly/monthly after i would shower and she would make the braids really tight, i wonder if this has anything to do with the thickness of my hair? because now (as im a little older) i don’t live at home and i can’t remember the last time my hair had two french braids going down each side. i unfortunately do not know how to braid my own hair and with the layers in my hair it makes it a little more difficult due to the various lengths. i have also lost a LOT of weight the last couple years (like 150lbs), would this be another contributing factor? like my body isn’t getting as many extra nutrients as it used to or something?

do you guys have any tips on how i can bring my hair back? i worry ill have bald spots in my wedding photos one day 😭 (yes i know that this is not at all the worst thing to happen, it’s just not my normal so id like to avoid it happening as long as possible).

are there specific shampoos you guys buy that actually seem to help? or specific hair products / routines you follow? my mom never really taught me about these things (she’s more of a tomboy and never cared too much for that type of stuff) and i feel like im at such a disadvantage.

i have straight frizzy hair when i brush it after the shower, and when i leave it to air dry or use oils/creams it usually has wave and a little curl under it (i think i’ve heard people refer to it as irish curls?) i don’t necessarily have a bunch of money to spend on my hair / products and would like to stick to more natural remedies. you just hear so many stories of companies putting chemicals in their products that cause hair loss, and there’s so many options and it’s honestly overwhelming “sulfate free” “paraben free” “silicon free” are these even things that matter? or is it just the new marketing gimmick?

i see people in other parts of the world have the most beautiful hair and i wonder how they take care of it. i want to learn how different cultures use natural remedies or natural shampoos. i hear rice water is something a lot of women use in other countries, things kind of like that. i also feel like natural ways are way better than whatever you can buy in the store. if you have any tips/tricks or even resources so i can dive a little deeper that would be greatly appreciated, thank you for reading this far!

💇‍♀️TLDR: i used to have thick hair, now it’s thinning and i want to fix it. i’d prefer natural remedies to expensive personalized shampoos, as natural remedies are usually tried and true vs. shampoo companies are just kind of guessing (imo). seeking worldly hair advice / resources for learning. thank you!

how can i fix my ingrowns?

hello! i am in my early 20s and ive noticed i get ingrown hairs on my coochie (sorry idk what i shouldn’t be afraid to say) but a few of them seem to have scarred over? what or HOW do you guys fix this? i have a “big” one that’s scarred over and no matter what i do it never seems to come out. i’m getting another smaller one and am really scared about it doing the same thing. i’m bigger and can’t really see too well down there but i can feel them and they genuinely drive me insane. anyone else ever wish they could see another angle on their body because they know they could get everything themselves? that’s how i feel 😭 anyone else in my world has a pimple/ingrown/splinter they come to me to fix it, but i can’t see and i am not about to ask someone else to take a look. any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated <3

is this normal?

hello! i am in my early 20s and usually tend to have absence seizures (i’m 97% sure that’s what i have anyways, it seems like as i’m getting older things are starting to change).

last november, so about 7 or 8 months ago i had a convulsive seizure and the middle/lower portion of my back seems like it’s been in constant spasm since? i’ve gone to physical therapy january but nothing seems to have really gotten better. yeah ive learned how to stretch a little bit out of the pain and my back feels stronger but i genuinely can’t go 30 minutes without it acting up and getting that pinching sharp pain (and yes i’ve been doing the exercises every day). is this something that’s normal? my dr said PT would be beneficial but if i didn’t notice any difference to come back (appointment already made).

what do you guys do to recover after a convulsive seizure? and is it normal to be hurting for so long afterwards? are there certain types of massages that work better than others? does acupuncture help at all? or would regularly seeing a massage therapist be more beneficial?

the moon 🌝

i know they’re not crazy good or anything but i think it’s impressive considering 1. i wasn’t using a tripod and 2. the moon is ~238,855 miles away 😂

P.S - any tips on how to navigate the new settings on these phones would be greatly appreciated. it’s like they changed things up as soon as i mastered the previous settings haha.

edit: spelling

why are so many people moving here?

let me preface this by saying i have been a washington resident my entire life. growing up things were actually nice (and this could’ve just been because i was a child), there was actually enough room for everyone, and people actually took care of themselves. over the last 10-20 years it has been going considerably downhill. there’s endless construction because they want to widen roads but can’t because businesses / homes are essentially built on the other side of the curb. there used to be actual homes in washington; ones with character and personality, now it’s slowly but surely just being turned into $2500 a month 1 bed 1 bath 600sq ft apartment complexes.

i think i just wish when people transplanted themselves somewhere they actually had desire to make where they’re moving better, not just rip it of its good qualities and move somewhere else in 5-10 years.

it feels like they didn’t like where they grew up so they moved somewhere else, lived there for 5-10 years, found something they didn’t like and instead of actually making it better they just move somewhere else, and the cycle just keeps repeating. leaving those of us that don’t want to hop around the country stuck to deal with their mess.

we have an insane homeless problem that none of our officials care to actually fix. i heard they’re just kicking/sweeping the homeless out of seattle for the world cup or whatever’s happening, so that when we have visitors it doesn’t look as bad. why can’t we actually help them? or turn the hundreds of vacant buildings into affordable housing for the people?

why do we have government officials in our state holding offices for 20+ years when they’ve genuinely done nothing for the betterment of life for Washingtonians. we say we’re a liberal state but other than the “protests” (that mainly seem like an instagram photo opp) that happen occasionally what are we actually doing for the betterment of society?

i know this is coming from a place of frustration but id actually like to make washington better, not just trample its resources and move to the next place that “has the prettiest mountains”. every time i come on reddit i see a post from this group about someone wanting to move here, it usually seems like the only people in the comments encouraging them are others that moved here a year or two ago and don’t know any different.

i want to actually do something to keep washington the way it’s supposed to be, not a the shitty free for all it’s turning into.
