Yellowstone, Grand Teton Lodging Feedback
I'm trying to finalize my Yellowstone + Grand Teton trip in late Aug to early Sept. It would be my first time there. Here is what I have currently:
- Day 1: Casper -> Grand Teton (Moran, Jenny Lake, Teton Village) -> (*) Jackson Hole overnight;
- Day 2: Jackson Hole -> Grand Teton -> Yellowstone (S Entrance) -> (*) West Yellowstone overnight;
- Day 3: West Yellowstone -> Yellowstone -> (*) West Yellowstone overnight;
- Day 4: West Yellowstone -> Yellowstone -> (*) Cooke City overnight;
- Day 5: Cooke City -> Yellowstone -> (*) Cooke City overnight;
- Day 6: Cooke City -> Beartooth Highway -> (*) Billings overnight; fly out next day.
I could add additional day(s). We have someone with mobility issues, no hike (short walk okay), just lots of roadside stops for scenery and wildlife photos. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Mt Rushmore Area
I'm thinking about visiting Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Mt Rushmore Area in late Aug to early Sept with my dad who's 85. There will be no hikes, just roadside stops, and we usually stop a lot taking photos. Planning 5-day Yellowstone, 1-day Bearthooth Highway, 2-day Grand Teton, 5-day Mt Rushmore Area (Black Hills, Custer SP, Badlands, Deadwood, Devils Tower, Mt Rushmore). Should be in Mt Rushmore Area around Labor Day and should be easier to move things around to avoid the crowds (unavoidable?).
- How's the duration for each location? Too long, too short?
- I'll like to make the schedule as flexible as possible. Booking lodging at the last minute probably not a good idea, but is it doable?
Thanks!
