I’m in my first read through of the series. Currently in Wolves of the Calla. As readers, there will always be certain phrases or character interactions that leave a substantial mark on us. Utterances that alter the way we think for the better. When Roland touches Jake’s temple, lips, corner of the eye, and then lips again—before sending him off to what was essentially a sleep over—I had one of those moments. The precious nature of this small interaction touched me in a way that ingrained King’s phrasing into my mind. It reminded me a lot of my own parent’s mentality growing up. Roland reminds me of my dead dad in many ways. I feel like people on this sub might appreciate my Dark Tower related thoughts… I’m 3/4 of the way through all of Stephen King’s works and my people irl are extremely tired of me lol.

My mom mentioned to me today that she had a conversation with my brother regarding my apparently "excessive" vacuuming. He asked her if they should start worrying about me, and why I vacuum neurotically.... She told him that I am just vacuuming up my excess skin since we have dark floors. The whole interaction gave me a good chuckle, and maybe will give y'all one too. Like, no, I am not having a cleaning-related breakdown... but I guess it puts in perspective how much I do vacuum lol.
