What are your thoughts of the name Nineveh for a girl?
Pronounced NIN-uh-vuh. I'm obsessed with unique names that sound good as a baby and as an adult, my 1st daughter is named Cambria and I want a name that will go good with hers.

The craziest part is that the aunts listened and they see my baby separately. So they’re all okay with bouncing back and forth from the cousins and keeping the relationships on the down low. SIL has no good reason other than she doesn’t like me (I’ve met her one time) the whole family knows she’s just immature but why is no one standing up from me? Should I just stop letting everyone see my baby since she’s being left out?
My SIL appears to be struggling significantly. Her husband has filed for divorce, but she's telling family members they aren't getting divorced. There have been multiple police welfare checks in the past during mental health crises. She dropped out of college, rarely leaves the house, and has become increasingly detached from reality.
The hardest part is that there's a one-year-old involved. I'm deeply concerned for the child's well-being, not because of the divorce itself, but because of ongoing neglect that has been witnessed by multiple family members. At the same time, my SIL has been spreading false stories about me and even my baby, which has made it impossible to have any kind of relationship with her.
I don't hate her. If anything, I think she needs professional help. But I also don't think mental illness excuses neglect or the harm that comes from repeatedly lying about other people.
For those who have been through something similar:
Right now, I'm choosing distance because I have a baby to protect, but I also recognize that this situation is bigger than family drama. It feels like everyone is waiting for the divorce to be finalized, while the instability continues in the meantime.
I'm genuinely looking for advice from people who've navigated something like this. How do you support someone with serious mental health issues while also protecting yourself and the children involved?
I work from home and like setting my own schedule. (Baby is 7 mo) I run, walk go to the gym and grocery store daily, and often daydream about calling up mom friends to come over or going out for coffee but I don't actually want to do that. I don't want to be somewhere at a certain time, I don't want to pack all the baby things, I don't want people at my house bc I like to be comfy in my pjs.. I'm really happy with my spontaneous routine and don't want to have to make plans when I might not actually feel like doing something the day of. Idk why I think like this. Is it normal to like the idea of mom friends but not actually want them? Or is this self isolating behavior and do I need to go out anyway
Being a first time mom is so hard. (I'm the happiest I've ever been don't get me wrong but all of the new transitions are soooooo hard.) I just want to cry and let it all out but I physically can't. My mind is so completely numb. It wont let me express emotions, I feel like I have more masculine hormones right now. During pregnancy I cried like everyday lol but I just want one good cry and I can't. Did this happen to any other breastfeeding moms?
Came out of my throat from post nasal drip and it has no smell so it’s not a tonsil stone. This is the 2nd day in a row this has happened. I’ve also had a globus sensation for 2 years Dr thinks its acid reflux but maybe it’s something more serious if this is happenin?
Not looking to do a full remodel, just want my cabinets painted. Did you get your kitchen painted, what did it cost you? I know the dimensions and various factors matter but just looking for a rough estimate.
I’ll explain. Me & my husband are very productive during the week. We run 5-8 miles everyday, work full time, raise a baby, have laundry & dishes done at all times etc. BUT the only way to stay on track is to have a scheduled do nothing days where we rot on the couch. Today we walked 3 miles in our pajamas, came home, watched movies & snacked all day long. Productivity isn’t sustainable if you never rest. Does anyone else do this? What do your do nothing days entail?
My dog had been limping for one week. Every day I take him to my moms house to play with her German shepherd, they play really hard but never any fighting. Last week when I brought him home he had a slight limp (he’s not putting weight on his back right leg) since then I’ve kept him home everyday and he’s been sleeping and resting the whole week. He doesn’t cry, he’s his normal playful self, still eating and drinking.. just slightly limping and I don’t want to take him in for them just to say he needs rest.. How long do I let him limp before I go into debt for a vet visit? What should I do?
I have 3 at a time as a snack, plain and warmed up. 150 cals, 6 grams of fiber. People will think this is weird but I love a simple snack that isn't heavy or makes u feel sluggish after. Anyone else do this? Do you put anything on it?
Spent $60 on regular dip nails today. No manicure, no cuticle care, just plain dip nails.. Not to mention, that's the cheapest place in town. The other places charge $70+ just for dip. I went because I'm going on vacation and need them to stay on longer but I usually just do $3 Marshalls press on nails, or do them myself with my gel nail kit. I feel like most women used to get their nails done routinely because it was affordable and now it's just for special occasions. Has anyone else ditched the nail salon? What do you do instead?
My SIL (my husband’s brother’s wife) and I had babies around the same time, and she has completely cut herself and the baby off from the entire family for no clear reason.
I know people will assume there must be some huge backstory, but there really isn’t. My husband’s family has been loving, supportive, and excited about the baby from the beginning. She let my MIL throw her a full baby shower, accepted all the love and support, and then basically ghosted everyone after. She’s also done things like randomly unfollow and block family members over and over with no explanation.
Now she and my BIL are divorcing, and until custody is sorted out, none of us are allowed to see my niece. It’s heartbreaking because our babies are the same age and should have grown up together.
I keep wondering what I’ll tell my kids when they’re older and ask why they never got to know their cousin sooner. How do you explain that family wanted to be there, but one person made it impossible? Has anyone else gone through this?
I love the grocery outlet, FB market place and the dollar store. I make double income, me and my husband have a good income but we still like to live below our means. You'd never know we get everything cheap. I guess I just wonder why more people don't go out of their way to live frugally? Do they think that if they have money they should just spend it? Are they too good for discount stores? Do they just not know how to find good deals? I feel like everyone's life would be easier if they shopped smarter.
