NGOs, being formalized organizations, often get recognition, easier access to funds, and are celebrated for the incredible work they do. But as an individual rescuer myself, I can say that there’s another side to animal welfare that often goes unseen.
Using personal savings for treatments and sterilization.
Responding to rescue calls at midnight.
Managing adoptions alone.
Putting enormous personal time, effort, and emotions into helping abandoned and injured animals.
A lot of this work quietly happens in the background, without enough support or structure.
What surprised me even more was this - there are hundreds of apps built for pet parents, pet shopping, breeding, and even dog dating, but hardly any platforms that genuinely help rescuers and make their work easier.
As a rescuer myself since 2024, I’ve faced these challenges firsthand. And this became one of the biggest motivations behind building Floofy. 🐾
