I took the doctor recommended steps to protect my mental health, and the hospital called the police on me for it.

I struggle with suicidal ideation daily and work really hard to push those thoughts out. When going to the doctor or hospital they always ask about depression and suicidal thoughts during their questionnaire, and this *always* causes me harm. It brings those thoughts front and center and takes a good day and turns it into a bad week, or takes a bad day and turns it into a dangerous month.

I've talked to the doctor and mental health team I'm seeing about it and they agree that this questioning causes me more harm than good, so they said when the nurse starts the questionnaire to simply tell them that I need to skip over the mental health portion and that I won't be answering those questions. They said this was a fully acceptable step to protect my mental health and they're noting this recommendation in my file so that hopefully I won't even be asked these questions in the future.

Today I had to go to urgent care (located inside the hospital) for a foot injury. They started their questionnaire and I politely said "before we get started I need to ask you to skip over the mental health portion of the questionnaire please. I'd does me more harm than good for me and my doctor said that whenever I come in I should just ask for it to be skipped please." Without further discussion the nurse said 'ok, we can do that" then she stepped on the other side of the curtain and called someone instructing police to respond. I asked her "did you just call the police because I said I didn't want the mental health questions?" She said she did, I said "but this is what the doctor told me I should do to protect my mental health, the questions in the questionnaire trigger a relapse of thoughts that I work hard to push away. It's there in my file that this was the recommended steps I should take." She said "that's not a request you can make, even if the doctor told you that" Shocked by the situation I said "I'm here for a foot injury, not to have the police called on me for following the doctor's suggestions for protecting myself. I literally just need stitches and some antibiotics, maybe a tetanus shot." She said "That's not how it works. The police are on their way now" I said "I guess that's my cue to leave then. I hope you have a nice day" and I hobbled out of there. She followed me and called security and the police two more times as I limped thru the hospital. Each time she told me to stop and wait for the police I just said "have a nice day Ma'am"

I'm so frustrated. I waited hours to be seen, only for the police to be called on me for following the doctor recommended steps to protect my mental health. I ended up buying super glue and just gluing my wound shut. Id have preferred they do that with actual medical grade super glue, but I wasn't about to wait for the police. The police are not safe for many people. I wasn't committing a crime. I wasn't even rude. I just said to protect my mental health I needed to skip over that portion of the questionnaire and that this was the doctors recommendation. She followed me to my car in the parking garage telling me the police were going to "catch me". Catch me?? For what? She had called them the second I asked to skip over that portion, no discussion, just immediately called the police on a patient instead of providing relevant treatment.

I'm so mad about the whole exchange.

Tell me about your vision changes please. Did it happen suddenly? Did your sight get better after getting the pituitary tumor removed?

I'm still undiagnosed, but have *every* symptom and a known tumor on my pituitary gland. Recently my vision got significantly worse, I can barely read anything. I got my phone on the biggest font possible and still have to take a screenshot and zoom in to read anything. My diabetes is*suddenly* out of control (A1C was 7.1 for years unmedicated, in the 3 months since starting medication it jumped to 9.3) same with my blood pressure, a sudden jump, and my muscles have suddenly gotten so weak that I can barely walk 100 feet. I constantly have a headache behind my eyes now too. Severe vision changes. This is in addition to the many many other symptoms of Cushing Disease I have been dealing with for years. I'm concerned about my vision. I'm hoping to get an official diagnosis and get the tumor out. Did your vision change suddenly? Did it return after getting the tumor removed?

I probably messed up and have time to fix it, but ... maybe I could get away with it and still come out on top

I've lived in my amazing apartment for 4+ years. Loved the landlord, but he was elderly and had a medical event and his daughter sold the building. It's a small 4plex, all the tenants have been doing month to month with the "shake on it" previous landlord. About 4 months ago the new landlord had said he wasnt going to change much except he planned on getting us all on new leases. Then one unit moved out and was turned into an Airbnb. Then another. And a couple days ago I got a 30 day notice to vacate because my unit is next.

Zillow had sent me a message that my payment for August rent was sent. I took a screenshot. Then I noticed the money actually wasn't withdrawn from my account yet, and made a knee jerk decision to withdraw it before the landlord could. I was scared and broke, I need that money to move. I've had multiple health issues for the last 5 months, missed a total 10 weeks of work (spaced out) when I already was living paycheck to paycheck. Then I lost both my jobs at the same time (my full time job couldn't afford to pay me in Trump's economy and my part time client went into the hospital with Covid and didn't come out) It took 2-3 weeks but I found new jobs. The money I had for August rent was *all* the money I had, I was going to be *broke* until new checks started trickling in. The 30 day notice to vacate really threw me off. I pulled that money out so I could put it towards rent somewhere else.

I still have the full amount in a different account. I found an unpaid live-in position where I'd get free rent in exchange for helping care for a hospice patient during my off hours. I move in September 1st. Because I wont have to pay September rent, I *could* pay the current landlord his money, and with the checks that are starting to come in I can, by the skin of my teeth, pay the moving expenses (storage unit, renting a truck and hiring movers since I can not lift anything for medical reasons. I don't have a single person who could help, I have to hire movers)

In a text conversation with the current landlord I sent the screenshot of Zillow's proof of payment. When I moved in I did not pay "last", just first and deposit. The deposit is one months rent. I do not want to mess up my ability to rent elsewhere. I got bad credit and recent job instability. I'm hoping to only do the live-in position for 6 months then get my own place again. I'm worried that when the landlord realizes my payment did not actually go thru he'll file eviction paperwork, and even tho it won't be an actual eviction because I'll move out well before the court date, just having it filed can mess me up. It's only the second, I technically have the money to pay him....but what if the hospice patient dies before September 1st and the live-in position is not an option? If I pay the landlord August rent and the live-in falls thru, I will not be able afford getting into a new place. I'm in a dilemma and don't have the knowledge to know what the best option is: pay him and have no money in case I need first, last and security. Or not pay him and risk him filing paperwork that could bite me in the ass later. I'm scared either way. I'm in Texas. A 30 day notice to vacate is legal but after 4yrs with zero problems and being lied to about putting me on a lease it feels disrespectful. And I do have a screen shot from Zillow saying I paid rent....

Tips to get diagnosed without health insurance, while very low income?

I am certain I have Cushing Disease. I have all the symptoms, I swear it's a sketch of me and my body when you Google Cushing Disease, and I have the cause of Cushing Disease, a tumor on my pituitary gland.

Recently, my blood sugar and blood pressure has been out of control despite being on medication. It's actually gotten much worse since I've been on meds to control them. (Morning fasting blood sugars are consistently in the 250 range, 350 after eating. My blood pressure is constantly 180-215 over 95-115.) I don't have regular access to healthcare. I have limited access currently because of Charity took on my case and is providing me with one year of coverage through their system with their limited providers. I started having abnormal uterine bleeding (hemorrhaging) in March, by April I was too weak to walk across a room and I received three separate blood transfusions in April. That's when the charity stepped in and gave me limited access to their healthcare system. In May I started taking medications for blood sugar (metformin), blood pressure (lisinopril), iron, and we did trial and error trying to find something to stop the bleeding. In June I finally stopped bleeding with the help of megestrol. At the end of June I had a minor surgery to hopefully address the bleeding. By July it was obvious that my blood sugars and blood pressure have risen significantly in the last 3 months. Last week we did labs and the results show that my A1C jumped from holding said steady at 7.1 to suddenly being 9.3 only 3 months into the medication.

The charity only provides limited healthcare coverage but I'm grateful for what they provide. They don't cover eating disorders or mental health disorders (hi, I got binge eating disorder and struggle with mental health) And they don't test for things like Cushing disease. I have tried to get Medicaid multiple times but have been denied. I live in Texas, the social worker said that it's almost impossible to get on Medicaid in Texas if you do not have dependents or are not already classified as disabled. I do have several medical conditions that would classify me as disabled if I could show that due to these conditions I missed at least a year of work. (Who the fuck can go a year without work when they're a single person with zero support? Regardless of how my medical conditions affect me, I still have to work. I've lost several jobs because of these conditions but that doesn't matter to the state of Texas, if I was able to have a job to lose then I'm not disabled and therefore do not qualify for Medicaid.)

I recently lost both my jobs, got a 30 day notice a vacate because my new landlord is turning my unit into an Airbnb, all at the same time. I'm stressed as fuck. And I'm watching my health deteriorate rapidly. I know Cushing disease is fatal without treatment. I'm definitely too low income to pay out of pocket for any doctor appointment, let alone all of the costs of testing or seeing a specialist.

Does anyone know of a way to get diagnosed while super low income and no health insurance?

Tell me why when I was not on any medication my A1C was 7.1, but then they put me on meds and now my A1C is 9.3 only THREE MONTHS LATER?

I've not had access to medical care in forever, but when I started going to the doctor 3 months ago my A1C was 7.1, they said it needs to be 7.0 or less and put me on medication. Now only 3 months later it's 9.3 and I can barely see shit anymore, I got everything on the biggest font and can *barely* read now. I'm so frustrated. I did have one very bad binge during that time. (Binge eating disorder is *the worst*) But a jump like that seems excessive.

Any storage unit recommendations? Or ones to avoid? Looking for a cheap, climate controlled storage unit.

I've been warned that storage units often do a bait and switch routine with the prices. I'm not sure how long I'll need to store my stuff, but don't want to move everything in then have the price jump. Does anyone have stories to tell? Good or bad. Any place I should avoid? I'd much prefer a mom&pop's opposed to a big chain, but that's not too important.

I need advice. I recently lost both my jobs and came home to a 30 day notice to vacate. Rent is due tomorrow. Do I pay it?

Life has been super hard for the last 6 months. It's just me, I got no one to lean on or ask for help. I have had multiple medical issues and have missed a total of 10 weeks of work since April, when I was already living paycheck to paycheck. I had surgery recently and that has improved my medical situation, (although the hospital mixed me up with another patient post op, which was terrifying, but supposedly the care and charting were accurate, the staff just kept calling me by another patient name and brought a monitor in with that patients name/info on it while I was still recovering from anesthesia.)

Financially I was already super struggling. Then my main job had to let me go because they couldn't afford to pay me in Trump's economy, and 18hrs later my part time client went into the hospital with Covid and didn't come out. I'm broke as fuck. It took a few weeks but I found other jobs, I started some this week, and start the rest next week. I was planning on paying rent tomorrow then being BROKE this month while I catch up. If I ate ramen daily and added door dashing to any available free time I could pay next months rent and be back on track by then. That was the plan before I came home today and found out my new landlord is turning my unit into an Airbnb.

What the fuck do I do? I got no proof of income. My credit is bad. I got 30 days to be out. If I pay for rent, I'm left with $22 until the 2nd, where I'll only get paid $400. After that Ill get about $600 on the 13th. Then I should have regular checks making $600/week between all jobs.

Do I withdrawal my rent money ($1000) out of my account instead of letting August rent be taken out? How bad would that be for finding a different place in the future? I'm scared shitless. I have a cat, I can not lose her. What do I do? I don't have anyone to ask for support or advice.

I'm in Texas. I don't qualify for unemployment because my jobs were with private clients, considered gig work. I'm widowed 45F. I've been incredibly isolated for a long time and don't have anyone to help, provide advice or even give emotional support. It's just me.

Any super morbidly obese BED sufferers try a glp 1? Did it help with BED?

I'm struggling. I'm 5'6 and 300lbs. I've struggled with binge eating disorder for as long as I can remember, but it really got out of control after my husband died 9.5yrs ago. I'm diabetic now, and my sugars are uncontrolled by my current medication. I only got one kidney so I really need to get things under control before the diabetes causes kidney failure. I'm so fat now that I'm too big for most plus size clothes even from plus sized stores. My binges are so extreme, life threatening tbh. A binge caused my abdominal wall to rip open and now I got a *huge* life threatening hernia. A binge shut my vision down and I'm still not seeing clearly. Blood sugars in the 600 range following a binge. It's so fucking stupid and I hate it so much. A charity is covering my current meds and doctor visits, they do not cover any of the typical binge eating meds nor mental health. (I'm very low income so it's not possible for me to get them on my own.) Today the doctor said that because of how poorly my current meds are controlling my diabetes, my weight, and the dangerous effects I've already experienced there is a path for the charity to cover a glp 1 for me. The doctor doesn't have experience with BED tho, she was googling and learning what she could about glp 1s on BED and told me to ask others in the BED community about their experiences. We read it isn't approved as a treatment for BED but many people report less food noise with it. I need to hear from people who tried it, preferably fat people who are also diabetic, and really were struggling with binges.

Doing a first watch of the Crazy Chicken Lady's season and there's something about this man I haaaate.

I hate his personality, I hate his posture and I hate his face. There's a sliminess about him that reminds me of my dad and makes my skin crawl. *I hate the way he holds his stupid shoulders.* That's all.

I don't know how he was received when the season aired, because obviously there were far worse cast members (looking at you Tigerlilly and Adnan, Loren too) and the Chicken Lady was in a whole other category of toxic, only matched by Angela and Rebecca. But I get the ick every time I see him. Anyone else?

How to find trackers on your car? A friends recent ex seems to always know exactly when and where they've gone and it's scary for them.

They've been trying to exit the relationship safely but tell me their ex is somehow tracking them. They took their phone in already and had someone check it for any hidden tracker apps or something, was told it's clean but their ex still knows all their movements. They got a new phone just in case. Still being tracked. Now they are looking at buying cheap little tracker detectors from Amazon and are asking me if I think they work. I kind of suspect they are snake oil, just a money grab, and don't actually work. What can they do, affordably, to find and remove the tracker? They don't want to go to the police.

I had one of my worst binges ever about 10 days ago and haven't recovered yet

Currently my binge eating disorder is out of control and I'm taking a medication that makes it harder to resist. I can't have food in my house. I have to buy one meal at a time. Taco bell and gas station food are the most affordable options, but I was getting sick of crap food and went grocery shopping Friday before last. I nearly killed myself with the binge that followed. I ate everything in the house. Everything. Even the condiments. I was in so much pain, my body was ripping open from the inside (I already have a huge life threatening hernia but could feel the abdominal wall ripping more as things made their way thru the digestive tract.) My vision was shutting down. I was SOOOOOO sleepy. I couldn't think straight. By the time I checked my blood sugar a solid 5hrs post binge it was 589. It's 10 days later and my vision has not returned to normal yet, I can barely read anything even in the biggest font. I had gained 9lbs during that binge and I'm still up 7 now, 10 days later.

I don't have access to healthcare. I currently am having other health issues and a charity is covering the meds and surgery needed, but they don't cover eating disorders or mental health. I lost both my jobs last week too, so there definitely isn't any chance of paying for treatment out of pocket. One of the meds I'm on is actually meant for people with wasting syndrome, it's a powerful appetite stimulant. I'm using it for a different reason and it's working for that, but it's making it harder to not binge. I haven't been able to have any food in my house since I started taking it 4 months ago. I can't believe I was stupid enough to go grocery shopping, I knew it would lead to a binge but I convinced myself if I only bought healthy food it would be ok. It was not ok. I still can't hardly see, my hernia is bigger and my self hate combined with my job loss is really making things scary.

I hate this disorder so much.

The emotional toll of binge eating disorder is making it harder to keep my will to live. I'm just so sick of it

Found the pathology report on my stone...it was 10x6.5x2 centimeters (that's about 4 inches long!) Had to throw the whole kidney away.

Low income American without access to healthcare, I ignored the pain for 8yrs before getting treatment. 0/10 don't recommend.

W what in the Sammy Sosa is going on here?

Is he bleaching his skin? Let me guess, Marissa "didn't" make him do it, just like she "didn't" make him get an adult circumcision? She's destroying this man's self esteem, draining his soul of any joy or happiness.

Edit. Apparently I'm so taken aback that I am stuttering in the title.

Free Zied from this colostomy bag of a woman.

I'm trying to make my way the Last Resort, but Rebecca is the *worst*. She makes Angela look like a rational partner. I feel bad for Zied on so many levels with her as his partner. Does he have his green card yet? Can we set up a rescue operation to free him? She is as pleasant as a busted up colostomy bag.

My glow light tetras had babies in the community tank. I only stocked 9, here's a photo of 11.

I had 7, one died and I removed him. Then I had 6 for a while, and added 3 to make a school of 9....but that's 11. Lol I'm delighted

What can you tell me about him? What kind is he? Do his fins look healthy?

This is the new guy. Larry Fisherman. I've had him about a week. Does everything look ok? What kind is he?

u/DontTrip333 — 2 months ago

Coffee or Mac Miller themed names?

The tank's previous tenant was named Java, it's next to my coffee pot. I want to stick with a coffee theme, but i also have a Mac Miller painting in my kitchen , so a Mac theme would be most dope too. Got any cute names to fit this guy.

Also, does he look healthy? Are his fins ok? Open to constructive criticism. I've had him 2 days
