[Contest] a recipe/cooking/baking contest! Ends on July 6, 2026 5:00pm EST.

Hello everyone!

I would like to host a contest today!

All regular sub rules apply.

Winners: 2

Must have a baking or cooking-related item on the list that is $10 or under. If there is a specific item on your list that you want to receive if you win that fits the cooking or baking theme, list it in your post, either at the beginning of your post or at the bottom of it, so it is easy to find.

Also, if you feel inclined to gift someone their wished-for baking/cooking item, feel free to do so 😊. Just make sure you post the order number and the expected delivery date in response to that person’s post!

The contest!

What is your favorite recipe to make and why? Do you just love the taste? Is it a family recipe? Do you like it because it’s simple? Etc. Just have a small explanation of why you love it!

If possible, include a link to the recipe and/or a photo of the finished product! If the photo is not yours, please give credit to whoever it belongs to or at least the website you got it from.

A note: This contest is open to everyone. If you don't eat by mouth, you're still encouraged to share a favorite recipe—whether it's something you used to enjoy, love to prepare for others, or simply has a meaningful story behind it.

Winners will be chosen randomly based on vibes.

The contest will end on July 6, 2026, at 5:00 pm EDT. Winners will be posted and notified by 11:00 pm on July 6^(th), 2026.

This contest is intended to foster conversation and engagement between sub-members and give everyone some new recipes to try!

I have not hosted a contest in a while, so if I missed anything or need to update or change this post, please let me know, and I will do so :)

Edit: I meant EDT . So the time zone used for Massachusetts in the U. S. right now.

Edit 2: Feel free to share more than one recipe!

Just a heads up for those who get benefits (U.S.)

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to give people a heads up about something I was told. In the U.S. these types of websites and apps are considered to be income and are supposed to be reported on your tax forms as income.

This is significant for me as i am on SSDI and get several other benefits that are income based. Because these sites are supposed to be reported on your taxes, they could be counted as income that could affect benefits.

If anyone has other information about this, please post!

I just wanted to throw it out there, as this is not something I was aware of. Not knowing about this could really mess things up for some people if they are unaware.

Note: if I have the wrong information, please correct me and i will either update this post or delete it.

Edit: if any employees from Freecash could jump in here so we can make sure this information is correct, that would be great!

Last night I got some more results for albumin and creatinine

Creatinine: 296

Albumin 21.9

Albumin/Creatinine: 74

I have a lot of health anxiety, and I am very concerned about the albumin and creatinine results. Spoke to a nurse at my PCP's office a bit about it. The doctor wanted to put me on losartan, but she changed her mind when I told her I’ve been having low BP and have passed out a few times. She said we would retest it in a few months and that she was suspicious of kidney disease.

My gram has CKD, and I had an uncle who passed away from kidney cancer. My grandma is also adopted, so we do not know anything about her relatives.

I am pretty freaked out and would like to get an outside perspective on these results (I am NOT looking for a diagnosis). Should I be worried? Is it possible that the albumin and creatinine are elevated due to a resistant UTI?

My creatinine, albumin, and ratio have never been out of the normal range to my knowledge.

Symptoms: burning when urinating, as well as just pain in that area in general, urgency, incontinence, frequency. I have had pretty bad pelvic pain a few times in the last week or so as well, but it goes away after a while. Very tired but having a difficult time sleeping. No fever or chills, no flank pain.

If someone could reassure me or let me know if this may be serious, that would be great. I want to know if I should be worried or not.

EDIT: I also had rhabdomyolysis years ago due to a medication. I honestly remember very little about the whole thing, but I did have it.

Syncing

So. My games synch time that it shows keeps changing. Will go from 'just now' and then switch to '26 hours ago' and goes back and forth with the time amount changing periodically.

Thoughts?

(Trying to write this in a way that wont get it automatically removed, lol. Hence the somewhat vague langauge)

Is this something we could do?

Hello,

I was wondering if it would be possible to create a mega thread where people can post about 'the easiest games' on Free Cash. It would cut down on the repetitive posts and would give people a chance to just scroll through and see what other people are recommending.

I am still fairly new to Free Cash and to this sub as well, so if this is a stupid idea, just pretend you didn't see it, lol

I have a quick question regarding gifting kindle books!

Hello!

So, I have a degenerative eye disease, and I am slowly loosing my vision. I am unable to read most print books because the font is too small, and I see 'ghosting,' which makes them nearly impossible for me to read.

So, I read almost exclusively on my Kindle. My question is, if I have Kindle books listed on my gift list and someone purchases one for me as a gift, do they see my entire email address? I read somewhere that in order for someone to purchase a Kindle book as a gift, the person purchasing needs to have the email that is associated with the account in order to gift it. My email is my first name and my last name, and so I am nervous to give it out to people on the internet like this, as my name combined with the info I post here could easily lead someone to be able to figure out who I am and where I live. I am a bit paranoid and I have PTSD and the idea of someone being able to track me down really freaks me out.

Just something positive in my life I wanted to share! Feel free to post something positive in the comments as well! Let us celebrate each other!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share something.

I am doing really, really well at work and I am so proud of myself. Being someone who is dealing with several disabilities i thought I would not be able to cope with a job ever again. However, I have now been in my position for 3 years. I genuinely love my job, and I am good at it! In the past month I have gotten two public comments written about me that were very positive. One from our new executive director, (hes been there for a month or so) who said how impressed he was with my professionalism and diligence, and one from my direct supervisor today thanking me for going above and beyond my duties in order to take some of the extra work she has to do while a management change is happening. These two comments were posted to the app we use to communicate and do payroll stuff, and it visible by everyone in my location.

I went from being in a group home with very little to live for (at least that was my mindset at the time) to working part time, finishing my college degree (I graduate next spring), having my own apartment, and my own car and I am now able to pay all of my bills myself with some help from the government assistance I receive for things like rent. Ive also lost 180 lbs which has drastically changed how I navigate the world.

I just feel so, so good right now. My opinion of myself has increased more than I ever thought possible.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this with everyone. :)

If anyone else has any good things to share, I would love to hear them! Sometimes it is good to brag :) you are allowed to feel proud of yourself and to tell people that! Let us celebrate your wins with you :)

395 to 220 in 2 years. Progress photo :)

So I got my surgery done about 2 years ago. I have gone from 395 to 220. I am so incredibly happy with the change , especially with my quality of life. I can do so many things now that were not options for me before. Just thought I would share :)

For reference, I am 5'7 and have also had a breast reduction and a lift (about two months ago). I also have begun the process of documenting rashes and such to be approved for skin removal surgery. You cant tell from this photo, most likely because the pants disguise it, but I so have a lot of loose skin.

[Request] hygiene supplies for the homeless at my work

Hello!

So, I work at a local non-profit as a secretary/receptionist/member services. We allow anyone who needs to come into our facility and use our showers and toilets to do so at any time. We have a donation basket for hygiene products, which I mostly fill. I coupon at CVS aggressively and donate 85% of what I get.

Well, summer is coming, and we get a lot more of those individuals during the summer, for whatever reason. I made a registry for travel-sized hygiene products, and wanted to share it here in case anyone would like to help.

We also act as a cooling shelter in the summer and a warming shelter in the winter. During those times, we also allow the individuals to use our Wifi and electricity to charge their phones, laptops, etc.

We also have a coffee station that they are welcome to get a cup of coffee from, and everyone is allowed to come in to refill a water bottle or things like that. We rarely turn anyone away. The few times we do are directly linked with behavior, safety, and substance use.

Anyway, here is the list if you are interested in helping out 😄 If you think of anything that would be good to add to the list, please let me know! I can say we have a lot of menstrual products, hair ties, and masks.
