What are your thought on Tylin

Well, I finally got to the part of Tylin's death

I had this feeling she was going to die

Matt and Tylin's storyline spans a few books, and is a relatively longer storyline

We all bring our own perspective to reading their storyline based upon our life experiences and how we interpret situations - maybe you felt disgust, anger with her forcing herself on him at knife point, indifference as the story fluctuated over time, or saw it as an engaging series of events, an interesting twist on how Matt pursue women, a chuckle or anything therebetween

I might share my personal thoughts from my own life experience of something that happened to me in high school as a comment at some point, but maybe not

So, what are your thoughts on the Tylin and Matt Storyline?

P.S. I am beyond fascinated with how the Matt and Tuon storyline will play out - he just met her in the wagons for the first time after kidnapping her...

Witcher 3 Remastered !!!

Witcher 3 Remastered looks and plays great on my Legion Go 2 Z2E !!

I had to tweak some settings - at first everything looked wildly blurry as though I was wasted and motion sick, but now the game runs perfect….

The game also runs incredible on a G765 PowerSpec….

On that note, the Forza Horizon games, the Assassin Creed games, and Crimson Desert all play fantastic on the Legion Go 2

Happy Gaming !!!

Enter: The Daughter of The Nine Moons !!!

What a Story, Truly What A STORY for far in Winter's Heart....

Building excitement for Rand and Nynaeve adventuring out to clean Saiden...

I Howled wilder than Perrin over the scene where Rand told Min, Elayne, and Aviendha that he loves all three and they returned the love, and Nynaeve and Lan's reactions were beyond priceless, Rand the Lecher !!

Forget Howling, I about Died yesterday while reading Min, Aviendha, and Brigitta's reaction to Rand having some flaming hot spicy time with Elayne....

Then.................................

The Big Reveal.....

The Daughter of The Nine Moons !!!!

Someone get Matt a Bridal Wreath !!!

Holy Flamming Ballz of Saidar.....

Matt just walked into Tylin's room, and there was Tuan and High Lady Suroth....

I cannot even image what is going to happen next...

Guess I will have to Read On and Find Out tomorrow !!!

Audio Books vs Physical Books

Such incredible...

World building

Foreshadowing

Characters crossing paths and "chance" meetings

Coincidences stronger than Ta'veren Pull or Matt's Luck

I feel like I miss so much by listening to the audio books...

Like, I did not even know that

I am extremely limited on time, so I listen to the books while running or doing chores...

Today, for instance.....

Perrin is somewhere doing something, and runs into Morgase....

Listening to the audio book while I am sawing a huge tree branch 20 feet long that fell last night...

A train is booming in the distance...

Noise, distractions, and my audible comprehension is nothing compared to physical reading, highlighting, and note taking, honed from almost 20 years of writing long and technical software patents from inventor's notes that I pour over...

Truly, one day I hope to read the physical books - especially for a second read through, I feel like it would be a delight...

A True Delight, and I just got goosebumps writing that out to you...

It must be incredible to notice foreshadowing or small details that are actually huge...

Do you listen to the audio books like me, or physical books?

Edit: Like, I didn't even know Asmodeon died until he crossed my mind and I looked it up yesterday, wondering where he has been...

Worried for Rand

Nynaeva al'Meara, Elayne Trakand, Sea Folk Windfinders, and Aes Sedia....

A Linked Circle of 13 Powerful Wielders of The One Power activating the Bowl of The Winds...

Lightning crashing across Ebou Dar....

Seachan invasion, everyone running, screaming, falling, trying to escape....

Sea Folk.... Seachan... a'dam collars....

WAIT.....

Wasn't the male version of the a'dam supposedly thrown into the sea....

It seemed so haphazard, glossed over, and I swear there were others involved - was it even thrown into the sea, it is truly gone....

I might still be guessing at whom is The Daughter of The Nine Moons, but I have this gut feeling that this collar is still a serious danger....

Guess I shall Read On and Find Out....

Halfway through Wheel of Time, should I read Stormlight Series next?

Currently reading The Path of Daggers (book 8 of 14) of The Wheel of Time Series...

I really love The Wheel of Time so far, and I heard mention of this Stormlight series...

I enjoy high fantasy heroic adventures...

Would I enjoy this series next or should I try some other book series (I shared a similar post in Mistborn group as I also heard about that series - not sure the difference)?

Am I Evil?

I tend to be an empathetic people pleaser that always wants peace and for everyone to get along as friends....

But boy, how I enjoy hearing about how the Wise Ones treat the captive Aes Sedia....

Burn me, well burn them for how they treated Rand - what nightmare beyond nightmares to be trapped within a box and taken out only to be beaten....

The entire Path of Daggers book could be about the haughty Aes Sedia being captured and broken, and it would be the best book in the series so far...

YIKES...

Not sure where all my aggression came from, but am I evil for thinking this way about the Aes Sedia...

Damn, and that Flaming Katerine Alruddin escaped....

Always some plot twist that would have even Nynaeve ripping her braid out...

Time to Read On and Find Out !!!

Heavy Real Life Themes....

I read a lot of posts and comments regarding the trauma that all the characters carry with them and grapple with along their journeys, which shape their character, emotions, and reactions...

It just hits hard to be honest, especially the Matt and Tylin thing - I had a boss in high school that did some pretty horrible stuff after drugging me that put me in the hospital mostly unconscious and it was such an excruciating and embarrassing time dealing with detectives and the confusion - it hit me today when Elayne was teasing Matt about Tylin - ugh ...

Rand with his no one understands me and isolating vibe...

Never feeling settled, I remember that from the early books while they grappled over living a new life where they had no control and where constantly attacked and just wanting a peaceful life back home- I had a severely bi-polar dad that would run away, destroy the house, write with blood on the walls about being a bad dad... growing up in an environment constantly under attack with no control over the circumstances...

I pushed through and created a wonderful, safe, and peaceful family, but I finally get it...

I Get It...

I get how they feel

I finally understand and empathize with them...

Anyone else grapple with their own lives or past through the themes they run across in the books - I wasn't really prepared for such an emotional journey, but I tried to keep my post generic and vague so as not to be triggering, but I get these teenagers...

I Feel For Them...

I See Them As Friends To Protect...

Holy Flaming Balefire !

Hit a hard low the past few days with the story...

Deep down I knew I loved escaping to Randland every single night without fail...

Shared about giving up the series, was feeling the low....

Then....

...

Holy Flaming Balefire of most needed Excitement....

Moghedien Balefire Blasts Nynaeve's boat...

Nynaeve drowning at the bottom of the river....

Nynaeve flooded with Saidar, breaking her block...

Lan and Nynaeve reuniting in Love, along with numerous face slaps, haha....

Nynaeve softening her temper, shifting towards peaceful calm, Love Always Wins...

Elayne finally putting the Toxic Aes Sedai in their place...

Almost 2,000 wilders found, Acceptance For All...

Matt feeling assured he has found the Bowl of The Winds, planning to Escape Tylin who is definitely Not The Daughter of The Nine Moons....

Wow, just wow....

What a Rush...

What a High from such a low...

Refound My Love and Excitement....

Excited for what comes next....

Anyone else ride the emotional rollercoaster, but found it was always worth it in the end?

The Emotional Journey - Feeling Like Quitting...

I started The Wheel of Time audio books a few months ago....

I am so deep into the story that I have yet to miss a day of listening to an hour or more of the story...

Halfway through Crown of Swords...

I think I smacked into an emotional wall...

I just got through the whole Queen Tylin stuff with Matt, heavy stuff....

Everyone always treating each other like crap....

Aes Sedai always beating on everyone and each other...

Most of the characters are so rude and harsh to others, I have yet to meet a female character that has been nice to men - maybe a few...

Like when does Nynaeve become cool or at least non-toxic... good grief she couldn't even apologize for treating Matt like dirty when he saved her at the Stone....

Perrin and Faile, just ugh....

Always so much strife and discourse...

Maybe I need some monumental Hero Battle of Glory Moment....

Worried that I might just drop the series because I notice that the constant arguing, belittling, negativity tends to leave me more on a low than baseline or a high - reading a book should be fun and enriching, right?

Then I tried to share here about Matt and Tylin as a potential Daughter of The Nine Moons yesterday before I knew what terrible stuff was going to happen - and then all the comments caused me to delete the post, that just felt defeating because I really enjoyed our space here together...

Thanks for the safe space to share my feelings over the book, maybe I will push through with the hopes that something special or positive happens....

Edited Thought: I have absolutely loved every moment up until yesterday, so please know that I love and appreciate the series - I am sure something exciting or positive will happen soon and I will be back into it all

If I love Crimson Desert, would I enjoy Dragon Dogma 2?

I bought Dragon Dogma when it first came out, but it sat sealed on my shelf until now...

The difficulty, saving, and travel aspect sounded as if it would be frustrating and not fun for my personality and play style...

Basically, I have about an hour late in the night after the kids go to bed to turn on a game, play for a bit, and hopefully have fun and enjoyment - feeling like I made some progress...

I avoid souls like games or games like Gothic remake where there is high difficulty and frustration as part of the game play loop, but I really enjoy Elder Scrolls games, Assassin Creed games, and I'm 140 hours into Crimson Desert (I loved MMOs and Crimson Desert is an oasis of single play MMO where I can explore, make progress, and get that dopamine hit within an hour)....

With the changes to Dragons Dogma 2, would this game fit my playstyle where I have an hour or so a night after kids go to play to play and hopefully feel accomplished and have some fun...

For example, can I play for an hour, save, go to bed, and come back to where I saved, or will most of my game play be exploring from an in and having to run back to save, or worry about limited resources or high difficulty...

Thanks for the advice, I am excited to dive into the game if you think it is for me!

Crimson Desert just hits different on the 5080

Was an exclusive console only gamer until tonight ⚔️🐉

Been playing on Xbox, and finally got a PowerSpec G765 with 5080 GPU…

The graphics just melt on the screen 😍

u/DragonSlayr82 — 2 months ago

PowerSpec G765 Adding Storage

The G765 Powerspec has the Gigabyte B850 Gaming WiFi6 Motherboard with one PCIe 5.0 slot (guessing used by the prebuilt 2tb SSD - hard to see since the 5080 is installed over that area) and two PCIe 4.0 slots.

If I wanted to add 2TB of store for gaming, then what do you suggest as a brand/model SSD?

Also, would an external NVMe SSD work well for gaming off of?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts - it has been since 90s since I built a PC so I am hesitate to even open the case or touch anything - so an external SSD would be great, but not sure if it will be too slow to run games from)

Finally, Success !

My third try at a PowerSpec G765, and….

It works - finally after 2 dead units!!!

Downloading Diablo 4, Tainted Grail, Crimson Desert, and Forza Horizon games….

Since I already own a Series X, PS5, Switch 2, Steam Machine, and Legion Go 2 Z2E, I’m not really sure what extra value this Beast will add…

So I would love some game suggestions to showcase the 5080, and why you prefer Gaming PCs

Newbie Adventure

Having played Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Crimson Desert, and other open world games and old school MMOs like EQ, EQ2, Asheron's Call, Dark Age of Camelot....

I thought I would give Tainted Grail a try....

I am not into hardcore souls games - I have an hour or two to game a night at the end of long days - so feeling frustrated in not the best use of my small free time that I hope to fill with adventure, fun, and low key enjoyment (so the Gothic Remake and soulslike games are not soothe my soul), but I did end up beating Elden Rings only because I wasted 40 hours grinding at the very start....

So, do you enjoy Tainted Grail and should I give it a try?

My wife asked me what will happen when I finish the series

My wife and I do daily coffee drives for an hour to connect before we start our days (Coffee Tate Dates)...

This morning, I talked about how I love running through the local hiking trails while listening to my book every single day without fail....

She asks: Well, what are you going to do when you finish, you said you are on book 7 of 14 - you are crushing the series in just a few months already...

I explained how many people in the reddit group for the book have read the series multiple times because there is a ton of foreshadowing...

She said how she got chills over how cool it sounds to notice something early on in a book that surfaces later in the series and that the author must be incredibly smart...

Has anyone re-read the series or plans to re-read the series at some point?

Once I figure out who this Daughter of The Nine Moons love of Matt is, I will be excited to go back and find all this foreshadowing that everyone has been telling me about...

Definitely going to do a re-read....
