Going from The Sims 4 to The Sims 1?

Hello everyone,

I recently saw online very interesting videos of modded The Sims 1 and to me it looks way more enjoyable than The Sims 4. I am a very nostalgic person, I love retro graphics and I don't like The Sims 4 challenges that much, I would rather play with my own character rather than managing a whole family.

That said I saw that on Steam there is The Sims 1 and from what I understood it's with all DLCs + the possibility of optional mods. How enjoyable could it be to go from the newest title to The Sims 1?

Are there specific mods allowing me to recreate vintage outfits and places?

"Paranoia" di Shirley Jackson

Slave cari lettori e lettrici,

SIMOND water filter?

Hello, I am looking to get my first water filter ever and I saw several reviews but none of them including the SIMOND and 3FULGEAR water filters.

Does anyone know how they are/work?

To me the most important things are that they work properly and that they last long enough for several uses before clogging up (of course clogs depend on what kind of water you try filtering).

Did anyone try those brands? It seems like the sawyer mini doesn't come with a water bottle so I am not sure to get that one even if I liked it

Similar books to Shirley Jackson's horror novels?

Hello readers,

I have almost read all the Shirley Jackson's horror novels and I would love to read similar books that dweel into the philosophycal/pshycological world, something unsettling and yet not straight up horror in the King's style, I truly don't like those.

I read "The Sundial", "We have always lived in the castle", "Tha Haunting of Hill House", I will start reading today "Paranoia"!

Any book reccomendation will be taken in consideration, thank you

Can't seem to go truly UL 10kg-7kg

Hello,

My budget is limited and without changing every single piece of gear it seems almost impossible to achieve an ultralight backpack with less than 7 kg for a multi day tent camping.
Maybe I am too fixated on lowering the weight without making some sacrifices, but when adding water, food and clothes the whole backpack is around 8kg; here I share my current 10-11kg gear list and what I planned to change with a limited budged of around 400€:

  • Neck gaiter: 38g
  • Knife: 31g
  • Rope: 32g
  • Gas canister: 189g
  • Sleeping pad: 491g
  • Pillow: 133g
  • Cooking pot kit: 390g
  • Sleeping bag 5°C: 1100g
  • Camping stove: 28g
  • Tent: 1300g
  • Water: 3000g
  • Food: 630g
  • Backpack: 1650g
  • First aid kit: 30g
  • Glasses case:20g
  • Raincoat:247g
  • Headlamp: 38g
  • Lighter: 16g

What I am planning on buying in the near future:

  • Aeros Ultralight Pillow by Sea to Summit Small: 55g | € 44,95
  • Titanium 750ml Pot by TOAKS + posate: 140g | € 23,95
  • Sacco a pelo Cicada Wing Down Envelope CW295: 570g | € 95,99
  • Katadyn BEFREE 1L Soft Flexible Water Filter Bottle: 76g | € 47,99
  • Tianshan Backpack 45L: 990g | € 164,00
  • DirtSaw Deuce #2 Trowel by The TentLab - Green: 17g | € 19,95
  • Titanium Windscreen by TOAKS: 14g | € 9,95
  • Emergency Blanket by SOL: 82g | € 6,95

With a new total of 7.16kg

Do you guys think it would be better to buy other items instead of what I wrote on my list? Should I change anything else? I know a different tent could also make a big change but I just bought this one and I am not planning on changing it anytime soon.
I would still carry with me 2L of water and then I would either boil more water or filter it if I need to cook more than I planned to. I could eventually sacrifice the pillow, but would it make that much difference?
I wouldn't really buy frameless backpack as I am quite skinny and it's hard for me to properly fit backpacks, plus I am scared of feeling the gear hitting my back.

Additional info:
2 people tent camping 1-5 days in the Dolomites and other Italian areas at 1500-2000m of altitude, walking 10+km per day, mostly from early Spring to late Autumn at temperatures ranging from 0° to 20°C. The backpack I was thinking to get should replace my 50+10L one.
Thermal clothing for the night, something light to dress with, little to no changing clothes if possible (usually only socks and underwear). Both forests and rocky places, eventually peaks where it could be quite windy and rainy.

Lanshan 2 Pro became a water collector in just a few minutes

Hello,

I recently purchased the 2026 version of the Lanshan 2 Pro in Silpoly and I tried setting it up in the moutains at dawn at 1800 metres. I am in Italy and I still have to sleep in the tent to properly test it, but I was quite upset when after just 10 minutes my tent was fully soaked wet both inside and outside. I would like to know if that's normal because in my opinion I wouldn't have been able to sleep in it if I had to. I packed it up after 30 minutes more and when I took it out from its bag the next day the tent was fully covered in waterdrops and the whole bag was wet, not humid, WET!

The tent was pitched perfectly, maybe high humidity but not rain at all, on the grass from about 8pm to max 9pm pitched

The tent was previously SEAMSEALED and there was no rain at all, it's the 3 season silpoly 2026 version

First time tent camping in the rain

Hello everyone,

I have recently purchase a tent to go camping and I haven't been able to test it yet because I was waiting for a clear sky and a nice day to try it, yet it has been raining for weeks and the weather isn't going to change that soon. I wonder if it's safe to go tent camping for a single night, as my first tent camping experience ever, in the rain in a forest.
I know the place where I would like to camp since it's near a trail I took twice in Winter and the place looks really welcoming, still whenever I read online about tent camping in the rain it seems like it's the last thing you want to do if you want to survive in the mountains.

The main problem I keep reading about are the possibility of getting hit by lightnings, getting soaked wet because the tent isn't sealed well, some random rocks falling from the sides of the moutain if there any rocky trail and so on; but from what I see online other people's experiences seems fine in the rain.

My main worries would be finding a too muddy ground since it has been raining almost every day for 2 weeks or just trees falling down honestly. If I camp in the wood I feel it's very unlickely for a lightning to hit both me and the tree close to me just because it's a pole tent or because the tree is considered to be tall. I am not that scared of wild animals, there might be wolves but it's very close to a trail and I would close the food in bags to eleminate any scent possible.

That said my previous experiences were all in a bivouacs so I know what to carry and how to use every gear I have with me, still I wonder if I am going to do a risky thing in the rain just because I can't wait for a few weeks more; just so you know the tent has arrived 2 weeks ago and I didn't really mean to wait a whole month to test it out.

What else to add? The tent is seam sealed by me, it's a trekking pole tent, it has enuogh room just to sleep in it, I would have to cook on the side, I have no additional tarps to use to cover myself or the tent if needed. The weather forecast ranges from a mild rain to some thunderstorm but nothing extreme and no hail, if the ground is too wet I would expect the inner forest to be a bit dry.

I ask you if you can give any tips on how to properly tent camp in the rain and if I would be able to have a great experience in the wild for a single night.

Troubleshooting tent pitching

Hello,

I recently bought a Lanshan 2 Pro and I have been trying to set it up twice but I can't really do it properly, the tent is never well pitched, the lines are not tight enough and I don't know how to tighten the cords so that they won't get loose whenever tension is on them.

As you can see from the pics the tent present ripples on the fabric and from what I understood it's not something that should occur if you set it up properly.

I am having a really hard time using setting both the footprint, the tent base and tent sides on a single peg for each sides, how is it possible? The yellow cords don't really hold the position of tightening you set them to, what am I doing wrong?

Silpoly tent, precautions in high wind

Silpoly tent, precautions in high wind

Hello,

I am new to tent camping and I opted to get the new 2026 Lanshan 2 Pro in silpoly. I am aware silpoly is not as resistant as silnylon is, but I am sure it can handle some wind.

I read that silpoly doesn't stretch that much compared to silnylon, so I wonder if there are some precautions I can adopt to not stress the fabric too much especially on the stitches. The official site recommends lowering the trekking poles and tending the tent properly.

Is there anything else I can do so that my tent won't risk getting damaged?

Naturehike, the race for the best tent

Hello,

My father and I would like to try tent camping in the mountains for the first time in our lives and I got interested in the Naturehike tents as they have been recommended by several people for being durable and reliable products as well as being economical.

Our idea would be to test it at 2000 metres in a place we already know well, but with so many tents and different options available I can't decide which one to get as I keep seeing videos and reading several different things about each tent.

The tent I am looking for (considered the normal product limitations and using the tent properly and tensioning it at the best) should resist consistent rains (not super heavy nor tropical rains but mild but consistent rains) and not bend under strong winds (here as well knowing how to properly orient the tent, putting all the pegs and finding the best spot that can lower the wind intensity on the tent); I don't really consider the 3-4 season or warmth factor as I would prefer a colder tent because we already have proper sleeping bags that will keep us warm from early spring to late autumn. I am not interested in using the tent in the snow nor in winter as for now, still I have to consider possible condensation due to the cold weather. I will put the tent in a rocky place so nothing that uses walking sticks to keep it up.

Since I am the one carrying the tent the weight limit for me is 2kg max, hence why I really like the Cloud Up Pro 2

The tents I got interested in are:

Cloud Up Pro 2

Star River 2 UL

Giling Pro 2

I am worried about the Cloud Up Pro 2 not being suitable in places where the wind can quickly change direction, and it might be quite a tight space for 2 people to sleep in.

I have read the Star River 2 UL has some problems in the rain if you don't perfectly tension the rainfly and I have seen videos of people using the tent on peaks and it crushed under the wind. I would prefer getting the 15D version as it's a bit lighter.

The Giling Pro 2 seems quite heavy (on the limit) and too warm, since it's considered to be a 4 seasons tent, to use in summer in places like woods, plus it seems to easily collect condensation.

I am asking you guys for any help, additional advice, first or even second hand experiences you have had with those tents. It would be too bad to have a first bad camping experience just because I am choosing the wrong tent for what I have to do.

To sum up the important things for me are: under or max 2kg, ok during rainy or windy days and free standing. I am not considering the Mongar in the list because it seems a bit of a hybrid between the Star River and another one, inferior in windy conditions compared to the Star River (of which I am not considering the EXT version with the 10D nylon.

The other tents I saw on the site seemed good but probably not what I was looking for, unless you think otherwise so feel free to tell me if there are other models I should consider.

Thank you so much to anyone who will be so kind to reply to me!

Indecisione Tenda Trekking

Luring people with discounts/coupons

[Rewriting the post to make it clear for everyone]
Xteink site itself is promoting their own sales called "Prime Day Discout" that grants you a 20% discount already applied to your shopping cart once you want to pay. On top of this there is an automatic pop-up for unregistered users that "grants" you a possible discount if you register with your emai; not only this but even when subrscribing to the newsletter they grant you another 10% discount, so it's already confusing because you insert the email but for different reasons, still making a registration on their site, but for a different discout.
Then you will discover all those discounts cannot be stacked together when trying to purchase the items, making the whole registration process just a matter of giving them your email rather than them giving you an useful discount.
If I am correct nowhere is written you cannot stack your discounts when trying to register your email and spin the wheel, of course it had to be expected, yet I feel like there is a bad communication from them, trying to lure people in subscribing with such strategies.
A nice ads with a little twist

Cercasi compagni (Trekking Luglio)

Salve,

Best plug-ins for journal and diary?

Hello,

I would like to know what would be the best plug-ins to use Obsidian as a gardening journal and a diary.
For the gardening vault I was thinking about something that allows me to keep track of the growth of each plant, when I water then, in which places I put them, whenever I repot them and so on.
As for the diary I was thinking about some "secret" vault you can only open with a safety word (paddword) and mood or activity trackers.

Any suggestion is more than welcome, thank you

Need horror games suggestion

Hello,

I have tried several horror games and I am looking for new cheap one, the only requirement for them is to be as scary as possible and maybe cheap (around 5-10 euro max). The year when they were released doesn't matter. The last game I tried was Amnesia the Bunker but I didn't like its mechanics with the light you must constantly recharge to turn on.

Any suggestion is more than appreciated

Adding windshield getting dirty?

We definitely need a mod or just an update that adds dirtiness to the windshield as we race and do more and more laps. In real life there are bugs and dirt or tire pieces sticking to the windshield, changing the view from the cockpit.

Please tell me if there are mods that already do this because I am missing a lot without it. I cannot post any link on here as an example.

Anyone interested in weekly races?

Hello guys,

I am aware there are several online lobbies to already race in, but most of the times they are filled with randoms and the experience might depends on the drivers and their behaviour.
I would like to know if anyone is interested in weekly races with realistic settings in a safe environment both for rookies and more advanced drivers. The whole aim of such races would be to treat the game as a true simulator hence avoiding crashes and contacts as much as possible, having clean races with true sportmanship.
I was thinking about 30+ laps or 1 hour long races (if not endurance races) with at least 1 mandatory pit, all realistic settings on and damage allowed.

I can't promise much but I think this could be a fun experience even for people who are new because this would force them to drive well, go for multiple clean laps and actually learn the tracks instead of just joining a random server and crashing on turn one as I have seen happening in every single server I joined so far; of course safe track rejoin.

To sum up:

  • Weekly races both for intermediate and rookie drivers
  • Realistic setting with Practice, Qualifications and Race
  • 30+laps or 1 hour long races + 1 mandatory pit
  • Realistic settings such as tire wear, fuel, damage, track limits and random weather
  • Hosted in Italy (GMT+2) mostly from the afternoon to the evening/night
  • Possible track selection, starting with base game tracks so to allow everyone to practice on their own when they can + possible multi class races (mostly GT3 and hypercars)

Please let me know if this interest you as I haven't found many groups of people being active on AMS2 as much as I am.
