Clearing AMS path/nozzle and continuing print after error re clogged or broken filament or other

I have a P1S with an AMS v1. I had a print going that stopped at 89% because the filament "wouldn't retract". In actuality the filament ran out. Now I can't seem to clear the path to load in new filament. If I try to stick the filament from the new roll into the same AMS slot, it will not go in at all. If I push it in another slot I can do so but it does not catch. On Bambu Studio it shows that the filament from the old roll (slot 1) is loaded. Clicking Unload does nothing. Clicking the new roll (slot 3) and hitting Load similarly does nothing. The error message when I try to continue the print is "Failed to pull out the filament from the extruder. This might be caused by clogged extruder or filament broken inside the extruder." I don't know if the end of the roll had any tape on it that might have gotten caught in the AMS to plug it. So I have a few questions:

  1. How do I check to see if there is tape stuck somewhere in the AMS path (it's not at the filament insertion point, I can see that)? And if there is tape in there, how do I get it out?
  2. If there's not tape in there, how do I go about fixing this issue when I can't seem to get any more filament to the nozzle?
  3. What are the chances that I can fix this issue and continue the print where it left off, as opposed to having to start over?

UPDATE: Pulled out the PTFE tube going from the AMS to the buffer as well as the tube coming out of the buffer. I have the end of the filament coming out of the buffer exit tube, and the other end of the filament is stuck somewhere in the AMS between where the filament loads and the PTFE tube is connected. I can't pull the filament out.

Gift for someone receiving a green card

Hi. I’m new to this board. I’m an American citizen myself, but I have a friend at work who is Indian and has been approved for a green card. I have a 3D printer at home, and I want to find something that I can print as a little congratulatory gift for her. I have not idea what kinds of things to look for though. So I’m hoping all of you can give me some ideas. I can’t yet design my own things, but I’ll take your ideas and see if anyone has already created something like it. So the more ideas the better.

One thing I did find was a Statue of Liberty, but with a Minion (from Despicable Me) as the statue. But 1) I don’t know if a Statue of Liberty is something someone from India would like, and 2) more importantly, I don’t know if she is a fan of the Minions.

EDIT: I can’t buy anything because of the family budget - we are already having to put stuff on credit cards due to lack of money. But I already have a lot of filament stored up that I can print with.

Fixing tilted printer bed

Bed became tilted, I think from debris in the printer. Debris has been removed, but I can’t figure out how to fix the bed tilt. When I tried to search the issue in Google, I got an AI response saying to lower the bed and then manually adjust the leadscrews. However, I could not find the source for this. I can’t find anything in any manuals or YouTube videos about this problem either, and I don’t know how to manually adjust the leadscrews without help. Can anyone on here help me?

Does this part go to to my Ender 3 V2 or my other printer (my Bambu P1S)?

Prioritizing prints and getting them done

This is just a general discussion topic. No one can fix this for me. Just wondering who else has this issue.

I keep a list of everything I want to print or think I need to print. I also save models on MakerWorld in my collections. I have so many things I want to or think I need to print that my printer can sit unused for days just because I can’t prioritize what to print next. Of course, this could be in large part to my somewhat severe ADHD. But still, it would be nice to just be able to go down the list and print one thing after another, keeping the printer always busy, rather than wasting so much time figuring out the next print.

I should also note that when I do print, it is often from something I’ve just seen anyway, rather than tackling my list.

I doubt those of you that do this for income have that problem since you have inventory to complete. But I could be wrong.

So how many of you have the same problem? How do you deal with it? Like I said, you probably can’t fix my problem for me, but I’m just interested to hear from others on the topic.

Removing hot refillable k-cups from machine

Hi. When I use my refillable K-Cups, they are pretty hot when the brewing is done. It's kind of uncomfortable removing them right away, but sometimes you need to do it, like if someone else wants to use the Keurig right away. So my question...

If you are removing a refillable K-Cup when it's hot, how do you do it?

Couldn't find an applicable flair, so just used Machine Question.

Screwed up messaging creator - help

I was trying to message a creator about his print file and an accessory I printed for it. I typed out a paragraph and hit return, thinking I could start a new paragraph. Instead, it sent the message. That was not good, because I had ended the first paragraph describing the problem without yet mentioning my solution. I tried to start a new message, but Makerworld only allows one message to a creator until the creator responds. I recalled the message, but I still couldn't type a new one. I doubt someone is going to respond to a message that was recalled and therefore can't be read. Any way out of this dilemma? I really want to contact him or her because I want to post my accessory as a model and want to discuss with him how to do it.

Post as a remix or something else?

Someone posted a model of a trash bin that attaches to your desk. They actually posted it in a few different sizes. I printed one size. I like it, but I was bothered by the fact that someone standing at my desk could see the trash in there. So I modeled and printed a lid that fits perfectly on the bin I printed. Now that I know it works, I'm going to adapt my lid for the other bin sizes.

Here are my questions: I would like to post the models for the lids on MakerWorld, and I would like people to know that it goes specifically with this other person's bin models. So...

  1. Would this properly be called a remix, even though I am creating an additional piece to use with the model rather than altering the model itself?

  2. If a model says no remixes allowed, does that apply if I'm just creating a piece to go along with the model rather than altering the model itself?

  3. If it is a proper remix, do I include both the files for the original bin and the lid in my posting, or do I just post the file for the lid and post a link to the models of the bin?

  4. If it's not a proper remix, how should I post it in that case? Just a link to the original model, or some other way?

What toys do you just keep transforming?

Someone asked what toys you just don’t transform. Let’s do the other side of the coin. What toys do you keep grabbing to transform again and again? Doesn’t need to be every day per se, but whatever you might consider pretty frequently. One you think is really fun to play with and hard to resist when you see it.

My current one is SS AOE Optimus. I have a lot of figures scattered around my living room, but I don’t pick them up too often. But whenever this OP is out (he’s put away at the moment), I have to transform him. And I’m not the only one. A few of my sons just love transforming him too. When I got him, I honestly thought I was going to end up returning him. I’m so glad I didn’t!

Convert Ender 3 v2 into ???

We (my son and I) have an Ender 3 v2 that we don't use because we always had trouble 3D printing with it. We gave up and bought another brand's plug and play CoreXY printer. But we want to do something with our Ender, since there's little value in selling it. I've read that you can convert it into either a CoreXY printer or a CNC router. Those sound nice, but before we choose, we're wondering what else you might be able to convert an Ender 3 v2 into. For example, can you convert it into a laser engraver? Anything other type of machine?

Archer’s mom

I used to watch Archer, but then I lost access to cable and couldn’t get it on streaming. I just saw an Archer meme that made me think about the show. Then I remembered a question I had but never asked:

How did the show deal with the death of the voice actor for Archer’s mom? Did they just continue with another voice actor without acknowledging a change? Did they have a plot point to explain a voice change? Did they kill off the mom in the show? Did they do something else?

Is there any way to improve the performance of the stock camera that comes with the Bambu P1S? I really don't want to replace it, but if some tweaking can be done so that it's not choppy, that would be great.
