My new favorite OC to draw and a minor antagonist in my story, Prince Akihiko + character design breakdown

He is soo fascinating.

Cultural inspiration breakdown:

Kabuki makeup, also known as kumadori, only one side of his face to signify his "two-sided" persona. The dots are also reminiscent of Ainu tattoing. His entire face is painted white, yes, he has blood circulation under that, you can see it in his neck. The red-and-white contrast with circular shapes is like a koi fish, which fits with his story. No spoilers, though.

The crysytanium or whatever the fuck I refuse to know how to spell this word correctly on his shirt/bandage/thing? is the 16-petaled "mon" of the Japanese emperor. Since he is not the actual emperor and only the emperor in the Meiji period is allowed to wear it. I need to find a slight modification for it but I can't decide so far.

The headband has the fictional faction's version of the rising sun flag, which is just the rising sun flag with a snowflake on account of the nuclear winter. Wow, they're so creative. This is heavily inspired by the headband Yukio Mishima wore during his coup, with the same text. Akihiko is a Mishima fanboy. The text says: 七生報国, meaning "Seven Lives to Serve the Nation", the dying words of a samurai who wished to be reborn to defend his country. This was used a lot during ww2 Japan by soldiers and pilots.

The ponytail is just a generic samurai ponytail. I don't think actual samurai even wore ponytails, I think they went with buns, but whatever, Akihiko is unique.

An interesting phenomenon that might be related to shifting? let me know if any of you have experienced this.

I'm sure most of you know about deja vu, but there's a deeper phenomenon called "deja vecu" which is the more severe form when it feels like you've experienced something before in depth and you've LIVED through it.

There's something related to deja vecu that I've experienced rarely, but enough to stick with me. A few years ago, I went to bed and had a dream that I was about 5 years old walking through a park with my mom. It was just a normal dream, not anything lucid, but for the whole time the part of my consciousness that was aware I'm dreaming and observing the dream from afar was thinking "ah yes, it's this park, I used to go here all the time as a kid".

Then I woke up and my brain was overloaded with the thought - that park never existed. It was never in my memories. But it also clearly did exist because dream self me was 100% certain it existed. It was unsettling. It felt like I'd woken up in an alternate reality where the park never existed.

Now this happened again with a more detailed dream so I won't describe it here for length, but now that I know about shifting, I'm thinking - could this have been a shift? An accidental one perhaps? The way I can most describe it is feeling like I've shifted realities...

I am running out of original things to draw so behold my new trend: Draw Your OCs as the Yongzheng Emperor In Various Costumes

I think Xiaomei likes pretending to be Laozi.

rules about pedophilia on webtoon canvas in a "mature" story?

to be blunt my story explicitly portrays child marriage, a minor antagonist is 14 years old and married to the 40+ year old main antagonist. it is also a fact in the story that she had lost a child recently. it doesn't show anything, obviously, but any reader can probably connect the dots.

everything i says is just like... "don't sexualize minors" but i want to know if this specifically counts as "sexualizing" minors. sarantuya is not "sexualized", she is a victim of sexual trauma, its a difference.

am i overreacting by asking neighbor to delete the photo he took of me?

I've been going outside recently for walks and since it's hot weather, I've had to wear more revealing clothes. I have noticed multiple people, mainly older guys, point their camera directly at me like they're taking a photo. Maybe it's sexual, maybe it's because I'm kinda weird looking, or maybe it's because I have pretty obvious self harm scars, I don't really care why it's still direspectful to my privacy in my opinion... I really do try to see the best in everyone so I usually ignore it but this time I walked past the neighbor's house and he was in the driveway and literally very obviously took a photo of me WITH the flash on. It kinda pissed me off so I walked over to him and asked if he took a photo of me. He said no and asked why I was being so hostile. I told him that he obviously took a photo of me, and even if it wasn't of me in specific it clearly would have me in it and i dont really want that on his phone, and asked to see his camera roll. he said he wasn't gonna give me his phone even though he didn't even have to, he could just show me the screen. at this point i was like, alright sure man just delete it and went back on my walk. Now every time I see him or his wife out and about they give me a dirty look like I'm the one who did something wrong. I'm pretty badly autistic so i'm bad at social cues so was i really in the wrong here?

Why is everyone hot

I genuinely feel awkward walking around on campus because all the girls are pretty blondes with the exact same tiktok shein baggy pants fashion and perfect makeup. Meanwhile I'm wearing clothes from goodwill, no makeup because it worsens my already bad acne and need a haircut desperately. I'm not even unattractive really, I'm like a solid 5/10 but I feel like a fish out of water. Are all the mid people doing online college these days or something?

It took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure out how I wanted to have her look. I wanted her to come off as visibly Mongolian, but also demonstrate her "princess" identity, with buddhist motifs, and a moon theme.

First slide - I really do like this design, but it just looks very Chinese, and a viewer would read her as such from it. She also doesn't look her age at all.

Second slide - You can see from the scribbles that I really didn't like this one. I was trying to decide on a proper headpiece. I am also incapable of drawing braids. But this gave me the general idea to give her an elaborate headgear and smaller braids down the line.

Third slide - I REALLY liked how I drew her face in these illustrations, but her other features weren't exactly the vibe I was going for, and the outfit was a mess. On the bottom left drawing, you can see I finally designed her hat! Though later I change her antlers.

Fourth slide - this is where you can see I really locked in on a specific vibe. This was EXACTLY what i was going for and I was really happy about it, though i struggled at drawing her lower half of the body... The girl with wavy hair is another character.

Fifth slide - Just more doodles on my philosophy notes. I began to gave her the signature "bunny nose" which I'm obsessed with, it's SO cute, and tried to come up with general design rules.

Sixth slide - Finally moved on to the character sheet! This was my first sketch. Now it came to the colors, which was the hard part...

Seventh slide - The final character design. I am obsessed with the colors I chose. I was originally hesitant about going out my general monochrome preference, but it turned out so nice. I used blue as the primary color for her "moon princess" theme. Blue is the most important color in tengrism, the native religion of Mongolia, representing the "Eternal blue sky". Then, I used the four other important colors in Mongolian culture, green that represents the nature and mountains, red (colorpicked from the modern Mongolian flag) which represents victory (the second major color in her design, as she's a fighter), yellow, signifying wisdom, and finally white signifying purity. Her fur is a dark brown, the color of the earth.

Eighth slide - just added a side profile

My current main is Wanderer, I have him c2r1 and he deals a really good amount of damage in comparasion to my other ... less invested teams. I quit around the end of fontaine and only came back to get Durin, and now I'm returning again to get Nicole to complete the team, but what else should I do, because one wheelchaired team can't carry me throughout the entire endgame lmao. Should I invest in lunar teams or just wait for the new sneznaya meta? It's rumored that it might involve dendro, and as you can see I have a LOT of dendro on my roster, but at the same time Lauma is supposed to be the best for reviving dendro so idk if I should go for her instead...
