My dad came back from Saudi with a whole fragrance haul

My dad came back from Saudi with a whole fragrance haul

I’m genuinely obsessed with smelling good, so obviously I was VERY happy when my dad came back from Saudi with all of this 😂
The Antee Gift Set 05 has Rose Noir, Bidun Esam, Rose Noir hair mist + Antee bakhoor. Then there’s Ajmal Misk Rijali attar (smells like sandalwood to me but spicy), Lattafa Éclaire (vanilla caramel goodness ), and Bath & Body Works Sweetest Song + Vanilla Romance mists, plus After Dark and Sea Island Shore lotions.
And somehow I’m at 10 B&BW mists now
I clearly have a problem, but at least I smell good.

How is the work culture in architecture in japan?

I’m an architecture graduate, but I’m not personally looking to work in Japan - my friend is. So I wanted to ask Japanese architects or architecture students. what the work culture is actually like in Japanese architecture firms. How are the working hours, overtime, hierarchy and work-life balance? Is it really as intense as people often say, or does it depend a lot on the firm? I’d love to hear about your personal experiences!

Unexpected makeup haul from my uncle in Canada

My mom’s side uncle ( 28 ) came to visit us from Canada and surprised me with this little makeup haul
He got me a Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette, NYX eyeshadow brush, L’Oréal Infallible pencil eyeliner and Maybelline foundation. And somehow he even got my foundation shade right???
The funny part is we barely talk because he was always away studying, but he’s apparently seen enough of my chaotic makeup Snaps to know exactly what I’m into
I’ve never really gotten makeup as a surprise gift before, so this genuinely made me so happy. 🥹
Have you guys ever gotten an unexpected beauty haul like this from someone?

My first ever makeup gift and I’m 🥹😭

I’ve literally never gotten makeup as a gift before, except from my dad, and even then I have to tell him exactly what to buy
My mom’s side uncle came to visit from Canada and got me a Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette, NYX eyeshadow brush, L’Oréal Infallible pencil eyeliner and Maybelline foundation.
We barely even talk because he was always away studying, but apparently he’s seen enough of my makeup Snaps to know I’m obsessed 😭 He even got my foundation shade right???
It’s such a small thing but honestly made me so happy. Like he actually remembered something I love and thought to get it for me.

Have you guys ever gotten a random surprise like this from someone?

Girlies, has anyone tried the Maybelline Sky High mascara in Burgundy Haze?

I’ve been eyeing the Maybelline Sky High mascara in Burgundy Haze and I’m sooo tempted, I love the idea of burgundy because black mascara can sometimes feel a little too harsh.
Has anyone here actually used it? Does the burgundy show up on dark lashes or does it basically look black/brown? Also how’s the formula smudging and removal?
Please deinfluence or influence me before I add another unnecessary thing to my cart

What expensive makeup product was actually worth the money, and how long did it last you?

I’m trying to stop buying makeup I don’t really need and just invest in products I’ll actually use.
Out of curiosity, what’s the most expensive makeup product you own? Has it been worth the price? And how long did it last you before you had to replace it?
I’d love to hear what it is, how often you use it, and if you’d buy it again. I’m trying to figure out which expensive products are actually worth spending money on.

Maybe this is why I overthink marriage

I am a 24F who lives in the Malabar region of Kerala. I am an architecture graduate and currently unemployed (it is intentional), and I do have a lot of free time. So I was spacing out in my room, people-watching through my window, and I noticed my neighbour's daughter-in-law. She might be like 23-24, not sure, anyway, I saw her sweeping their small yard and she looked so gloomy and didn't have that joy she had during the time of their wedding.
So I asked my mom whether everything is okay with her and my mother asked me you noticed it too?? And I said yes and she said that the MIL told her and my other neighbour all this herself.
For context, it was a love marriage and the guy and she were in love for years, and she comes from a well-off family and she has 2 brothers and both work overseas as well as her father also has a successful business. She argued and fought with her parents to go through this proposal and her parents knew this guy’s family was not well off or even remotely close to their level. Anyway, the marriage happened and the mother-in-law ( my neighbour) treats her like a maid 🥲🥲. She has to cook, clean, and look after the goats ( they have goats 🤷🏻‍♀️). Look after his younger sister ( she is a sassy tiny version of the mother-in-law ), in her family they had a maid as well as all the necessaryequipments for basic needs ( washing machine🧍🏻‍♀️🧍🏻‍♀️they do not have that), she never learned to cook because she do not need to in her home. ( the MIL was bragging how she made her do everything even though she knew how pampered she was in her home )
The guy works in Bangalore ( I guess ) and this girl is all alone without anyone to rely on in this home. She stayed with him for a few months and he couldn't look after her there so he sent her back to Kerala. This MIL made her cook and she doesn't know how to and asked for help from one of her neighbours and was scolded by the MIL and also the guy was taking the MIL to the hospital and she asked whether she could go with them and this MIL said he was coming to see the doctor he doesn't have time to flirt with you🧍🏻‍♀️🧍🏻‍♀️🧍🏻‍♀️

Guys please tell me, will you marry the guy out of love even the situations in the home is this??? Maybe I’m too practical, but I can’t help thinking about the reality after the wedding. Love is important, but so is the environment you’re marrying into. What do you think???

TL;DR: My neighbour had a love marriage against her family’s wishes. She now lives with her in-laws while her husband works in another city and appears to be treated more like a maid than a family member. Watching her has made me wonder whether love alone is enough when choosing a spouse, or if family dynamics and practical realities matter just as much.

I genuinely think a lot of people are damaging their skin by doing too much. I used to keep buying new skincare because social media made me feel like I needed actives, exfoliants, serums and a complicated routine to have good skin. Meanwhile, my skin was always dry, irritated and sensitive.

Now I use a basic drugstore face wash, a simple moisturiser, sunscreen, and dermatologist-prescribed medicine when I actually need it.

That’s literally all.

And somehow my skin is healthier now than it ever was when I was doing “serious skincare.” My super dry skin is basically gone too. At this point I honestly think a lot of people just need to leave their skin barrier alone for a while.
