Doing every generation and each one with a theme this time it’s Hero’s

When I say it out loud yes it’s obvious Whitney the Johto leader and Norman the gym leader who moved from Johto to Hoenn but after a long tangent for leaders and succession and league affiliation I though of this.

RGBY/RSE take place at the same time and GSC/HGSS being two years later a 13 year old Whitney was most likely a talented gym trainer and when Norman is contacted by the Hoenn league looking for a replacement for their open most likely normal gym he’s torn. While yes he want to move he’d be leaving his gym open but with Whitney there he has her fill the role and he takes his family and leaves. Two years roll by and Gen2 protags fight a 15 year old Whitney who’s been undefeated for two years so it makes sense she throws a fit.

Only issues is that Norman is stated to be from Olivine and that can contradict with Jasmine who we know was a Rock leader for some time and he merely could’ve commuted to the gym or he did run the original Olivine gym which was passed to Jasmine and the league built the new Normal gym in Goldenrod.

Another point is that it seems that the badge is connected to type not leader as Lenora passed the Basic badge to Cheren despite her being the first instead of second gym so the badge was given to Whitney as her official insignia.

One more interesting detail is that from my memory when gym leaders retire or pass on their title to someone new it’s always a member of their family with the exception of the normal leaders.

The argument could be made for Drayden to iris but that’s game exclusive and she is more champion coded then leader coded.

During the OV flash back which is in the 50s we see Major Rozum being the commanding officer of young Max if we assume he is 30 at the very least and OS takes place during 05 and UAF being 5 years later Rozum would at the very least be in his mid 80s. Max in his 60s has a head of grey hair and a face full of wrinkles meanwhile the Adonis known as Colonel Rozum hasn’t changed since the 50s. It’s not until OV where Rozum’s hair has started to show a slight lightening with a brown instead of pitch black mustache.

During UAF Prisoner 775 attacks his family and we see his wife who appears to be in her 40s but he also has an INFANT SON. In his 70s-80s this guy had a son.

The sheer frustration I feel at the fact Max’s and this guys timeline being bizarre and a mess and assume nothing I’ve said is actually intended and Rozum is supposed to be like 43.

After an uneventful Lorelei I beat Bruno with Tony on her own. Ion opened against Agatha with two crit one shots and Lance was a bit of a struggle but was deathless.

The real trouble was I went onto the champion room not knowing it’d start the fight with magnet and storm not being fully healed and after losing two mons and the rest almost being dead I decided to use a single full restore on magnet for the final push and swept with him.

The a best moment was Switch going back and forth against Arcanine dig and leftovers barley keeping him alive

And a coin flip on attract of Tony died to Venasaur which I underestimated how hard it hit.

If I healed I’d probably have been fine… well I guess Lightning’s journey is over…

Also Gadjah is very cool

I lost my Butterfree and Dugtrio to a +6 attack hypno and was woefully under leveled for the rest of the gym.
