The Republican Price Tag

#calltoaction #fairfieldiowa

📅 Tuesday, August 18, 5:00–6:00 PM

📍 Golden Magnolia Sanctuary, 200 S Main St, Fairfield

Families are paying $3,500 more a year under President Trump and Congressional Republicans — higher grocery bills, gas prices, and health care costs — while billionaires collect massive tax breaks. The event is a chance to speak out and demand Congress lower our costs NOW. The venue is ADA accessible.

Here's where I'd love your help:

Because we're talking about the real cost of groceries and household essentials, I'm asking everyone attending to bring one non-perishable food item or a common household toiletry to donate — things like:

Canned goods (soup, beans, vegetables, fruit)

Peanut butter, pasta, rice, boxed meals

Toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, deodorant, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent

Donations will be collected at Golden Magnolia Sanctuary and distributed to support neighbors in Jefferson County who are feeling that price tag at the checkout line.

If you can make it, please RSVP here so we have a rough headcount: https://www.mobilize.us/goppricetag/event/1004902/

And even if you can't attend, you're welcome to drop off a donation item — just reply and we can coordinate.

Hope to see you on the 18th. 💙

Des Moines

DES MOINES: ICE OUT NOW!

Less than one week after ICE’s murder of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston, ICE has murdered another person in Biddeford, ME. In recent weeks, ICE detainments have surged to 2,000 per day across the country - a massive escalation driven by the White House and backed by billions in new ICE funding. The major influx of ICE agents into our communities is a threat to all of us.

📆 Saturday, July 18

⏰ 8:00PM

📍 Evelyn K Davis Park

1400 Forest Ave, Des Moines IA

From Houston to Biddeford to Des Moines, we demand ICE out of our communities and full & equal rights for all immigrants!

Winneshiek County

Confederate Railroad is still on the lineup for the Winneshiek County Fair on July 18th, playing under a flag and name that stands for slavery and white supremacy. The fair board has had months to respond to letters, petitions, and community pressure, and has chosen silence instead.

We’re not staying silent. Join us Saturday, July 18th at 4:30 PM at the corner of Montgomery St & Broadway Ave to say what this county’s institutions should actually stand for.

No platform for white supremacy! County fairs are for everyone!

PROTEST the Iowa Family Leadership Summit.

"The Iowa Family Leader is Iowa's premier Christian Nationalist organization. They are responsible for many of the worst bills of the last ten years, attacking the wall of church/state separation, scapegoating minorities, stripping Iowans of their civil rights, and inserting their personal dogma into laws that everyone must follow.

Iowa Atheists and Freethinkers objects. We will be there to protest their theocratic assault on the Constitutions of the United States and Iowa.

Their speakers include Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, Governor Reynolds, Zach Wahls, Ashley Hinson, Fake Historian David Barton, CEO of the Family Leader Bob Vender Plaats, Steve Deace, and some twit from TPUSA.

There is power in numbers. Please join us if you can. We will gather at 4 PM this Friday July 17, on Crocker street just north of the Community Choice Convention Center.

Hope to see you there."
