Hey, so I messed up on my HL Chem exam pretty bad in May and ended up only getting a 3. This put my HL points too low and robbed me of my diploma. I’ve decided to retake chem in November but am seriously struggling with how I should go about studying and learning all the content again. Hello, I will be starting my first year of uni in engineering next month and I was wondering if an iPad would be beneficial. I already have a fully decked out laptop and was in a store today when I saw the iPads and it got me thinking, are they that beneficial to your learning. I was thinking I could get the iPad mini for its affordable price and smaller size. Are they that great to take notes in instead of just regular paper and pencil?
I’ll address the elephant in the room. I failed to get my IB diploma. Yes it stings and is a little bit embarrassing but I’m not the first to do it and I won’t be the last. The reason I failed is I didn’t have enough HL points (10/12) My problem is, I really want the diploma and am considering retaking the few exams I’ll need to retake in November. The problem is, I’ll be in the middle of my first semester of university then. I was talking to my IB coordinator and he seems hesitant of me retaking them in November because of me being in university and the diploma really doesn’t mean anything to my future education. I achieved my conditional offer requirements for university without the diploma so my coordinator thinks it’s pointless to “potentially endanger my first semester of university” by study and retaking these exams. I’m doing a degree in engineering so the uni corses are not light by no means. I’m really stuck on what to do because to me, working hard for 2 years for something just to give it one attempt and give up doesn’t sit right with me but at the same time, I don’t want to risk killing my gpa for my first semester of university. The exams I would have to retake would be, HL Physics, HL Chem. And potentially SL math a&a (for a different reason). Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated because I am having a very hard time finding the best course of action.
