MP School: Girls Allegedly Made to Drink Urine by a 10-year-old boy. Is extreme misogyny causing the increase in SA and harassment cases among young girls?

[TW️: Rape, SA And Abuse]

What Happened At The Guna School?
The incident reportedly took place on Monday, August 17, at a government-run primary school in the Aron development block of Guna district.

According to the girls' account, a Class 5 male student allegedly put urine into a water bottle and the girls subsequently drank from it.

Officials have identified a student from the same class as allegedly responsible, while authorities are also looking into whether other students may have been involved.

The girls later complained to the school principal. According to officials, the principal allegedly told them to eat a Rs. 10 chocolate if their mouths tasted bad.

When misogyny gets extreme, young girls get affected the most. There is an increase in gang rape cases against minor girls, and in some of the cases the perpetrators are minor boys. And for this, no one but the misogynistic, anti-feminist crowd gets the blame.

The red-pilled rhetoric constantly talks about how to degrade and dehumanise women and young girls, which leads to horrific rape cases like this.

And people including women, who use the term gender War when talking about misogyny and patriarchy are nothing but being dismissive and turning a blind eye to protecting this system and refusing to call it for what it is especially since these things are baked into laws and religious texts while being backed by institutions to suppress women and turning their heads away and pretending gender-based vio*nce doesn’t exist are doing nothing but protecting the system.

Cases like these 10-year-old girls being sexually assaulted, men gang-raping a 19-year-old, and a recent Nirbhaya-like case in Assam where 16- and 17-year-old boys allegedly r.ped a girl smashed her head after sexually assaulting her and using rods on her private parts, and a 19-year-old sexually assaulting another 16-year-old 12-Year-Old Watches Porn, Kidnaps 9-Month-Old Girl, R@pes Her show exactly how horrific this is.

And yet people still want to pretend misogyny and patriarchy have nothing to do with it.

My bro (33M) and SIL (31F) are having a huge issue over kids. What do you guys think?

My bro is 33M and my SIL is 31F. They were in a long-term relationship before marriage and both have good jobs. Before getting married, they had talked about having kids and starting a family. My bro always wanted kids, and as far as we know, they both agreed on this.

But after marriage, my SIL changed her mind. She now says she doesn't want kids and has apparently been influenced by some DINK couples at her workplace.

This has become a huge issue in our house. They live separately and nobody from our family is involved in their day-to-day married life. We don't interfere in their relationship.

My father bought the flat they live in, and it's in both their names. My parents also used a big part of their retirement savings to help her when she went abroad for her studies. Her family wasn't very financially settled either.

I'm not saying she owes us anything because of that. But some people in the comments are acting like my family has never supported them, which isn't true.

What worries me is my bro's future. If he stays in this marriage and gives up having kids, I feel like his whole life will become a sacrifice. Having a family was something he genuinely wanted, and it was something they had agreed on before marriage.

And now, during their discussions, she has also started talking about alimony and what she would get if they separated. That has made the whole situation even more complicated.

I'm not trying to take sides. I just know my bro has always wanted kids, and I don't see how this can have a middle ground. One person can't compromise by having half a child.

What would you guys do if you were in my bro's place? Stay in the marriage and give up having kids, or seriously reconsider the marriage?

Women aren’t really that great as friends

Off late I have realised upon several instances that women only preach emotional intelligence but lack it themselves.

I have a friend who recently started MBA, before that she had a very bad breakup so she would call me tell me what she is going through and I listened, Heard her out, but now when she has moved to the same city I am in for her MBA she doesn’t answer my calls saying she is busy but then I see her partying every weekend. But she does have time when she needs something from me, initially gave her the benefit of doubt but then again only time she would reach out is when she needs something.

This js just one of the many scenarios I have faced.

Once my friend stopped responding because I asked for my money back, when we started talking again, I asked her why did she stop talking she said you were rude when you asked for your money, I was like If I was rude why didn’t you return my money and then ghost me. Atleast you should have kept your dignity.

This is just my experience, I am sure men aren’t great either but my experience is with women and I was kinda frustrated lately with all this experience.

Assam Police have arrested three teenagers, including a 17-year-old boy, for the alleged rape and m*rder of a 16-year-old girl in Hailakandi district.

The perpetrators of the Assam rape case are teenage boys.

Here are new details coming forward.

Assam Police have arrested three teenagers, including a 17-year-old boy, for the alleged rape and m*rder of a 16-year-old girl in Hailakandi district.

Police said they initially detained five youths on Sunday but by Monday had arrested three teenagers aged between 17 and 19. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the case.

"One of them is 17-and-a-half years old but considering the brutality of the case, we have appealed to the court to try him as an adult," said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Hailakandi, Amitabh Sinha.

Her family discovered the girl's body in Hailakandi district after they returned from a feast at a relative's house nearby.

Police sources said her head and face were smashed, and a rod was inserted into her private parts, detailing the horror she is suspected to have gone through.

While the family has alleged rape before m*rder, the police are awaiting the autopsy report to confirm the sexual assault claims and the cause of her de@th.

Assam Girl, 15, Allegedly R*ped, Face Smashed, Rod Inserted In Her Private Parts. Why Are Crimes Against Girls in India Becoming More Horrific?

One more recent case:

Bihar Panchayat Says Woman At Fault For Her Rape, Makes Her Lick Spit.

Begusarai: Police in Bihar's Begusarai registered an FIR after a video purportedly showing a rape survivor being humiliated and forced to lick her spit surfaced on social media, officials said on Monday.

According to the police complaint by the survivor, the 30-year-old mother of three was allegedly raped by a neighbour twice between June 2 and 4 and a panchayat subsequently forced her to lick her own spit, deciding that she was at fault for the crime.

The complaint was lodged on Saturday, with the woman saying the alleged rape and the humiliation by the panchayat happened in the absence of her husband, who worked as a labourer away from the village.

Have crimes against women and girls in India increased so much that we’ve become Desensitised Like what is going on seen so many horrific rape cases like the recent one where a 13-year-old was SA by over 30 men in Rajasthan.

The above cases are so brutal and her face is smashed, using rods in her private parts and one of them tried to report her SA only to end up in more humiliation by being made to lick spit saying it's her fault only for getting SAed. And cases like these are not isolated it's a pattern repeating time and time.

UP cop arrested for allegedly k*lling a 10-year-old girl, thrashed by hospital staff.

Police said he had been jailed in a molestation case last year and was later granted bail.

A police constable allegedly k*lled a 10-year-old girl after attempting to rape her in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur on Tuesday night. He was arrested on Thursday.

Police identified the accused as Abhishek Yadav, a constable posted with the Dial 112 Police Response Vehicle (PRV) unit in Gorakhpur.

Officers said he spotted the child walking home alone from the district hospital, offered her a lift on his motorcycle and later allegedly k*lled her before dumping her body under a bridge on the banks of a river.

Gorakhpur SSP, Kaustubh said the process to dismiss Yadav from service has been initiated.

“He does not deserve to be serving in the police force after being involved in such a grisly act. He is a habitual offender… he was jailed in January last year for allegedly molesting a woman and was suspended.

He was released on bail and his suspension was revoked in September. He was on duty in the Dial 112 unit,” the SSP told The Indian Express.

Why was he even allowed to wear his uniform and perform his duty as a police officer when he had allegations against him and why was he even granted bail?

If the justice system did what it was supposed to do, this girl's life could have been saved.

Changing clothing habits after marriage.

Most people in this post are gaslighting OP and saying you shouldn't create drama for wearing shorts in front of other guests and should stay silent since it's a privilege and what OP is doing is the bare minimum of moving with in-laws.

Also, her father-in-law boasts about never going into the kitchen.

Dharmendra Pradhan resigns amid massive student protests over NEET leak fiasco.

Dharmendra Pradhan, whose resignation as Education Minister was the core demand of the protesters, announced his decision in a lengthy post on X.

Pradhan underlined that stepping down was not a matter of personal prestige.

Dharmendra Pradhan announced his resignation as Union Education Minister on Saturday, saying the decision was driven by the need to protect the future of students and prevent "anti-national forces" from exploiting the massive youth protests at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.

Pradhan, whose resignation was the core demand of the protesters, announced his decision on X hours before the third round of talks between the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and the Centre.

Ahead of the third round of talks, the CJP leaders said Pradhan's resignation was "non-negotiable". A couple of hours later, Pradhan announced his resignation in a lengthy social media post.

It marks a rare case in which a senior Modi government minister has stepped down amid sustained street protests and political pressure.

Sources told India Today that Pradhan resigned taking moral responsibility on his own and was not sacked. It suggests that the government was keen on giving him a dignified exit.

The Odisha-born BJP leader first took office as Education Minister in 2021 and was re-appointed after the party won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Jantar Mantar, CJP, parliament: Thousands of 'cockroach' protesters to march in Delhi.

Thousands of students, parents, activists and political leaders are gathering in Delhi after the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) called a march to parliament demanding reforms to India's education system.

The protest site is packed with demonstrators, while hundreds of police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed.

Tensions escalated on Saturday after activist and educator Sonam Wangchuk, who was on the 21st day of a hunger strike in support of the CJP, was forcibly taken to hospital. He continues his fast there
Delhi Police say the march has not been granted permission, but CJP leaders say they will proceed anyway.

Despite its name, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is not a political party. It began as a satirical campaign but has since grown into one of India's biggest youth protest movements.

Is it really satire, dark humour or just using crass language?

I’ve been thinking How do these shows get such a large audience, and who are the people who enjoy them?

Also, how do comedians use satire in a way that feels like they’re punching up rather than punching down but it's the opposite most of the time.

And most of these shows don’t know how to present these deeper political issues here.

Instead, they make rude comments while using crass language and say something wildly offensive, while the audience claps and enjoys.

And 95% of the time, it’s to degrade women and young girls.

Sold by Patricia McCormick.

[Trigger Warnings ⚠️ : Child trafficking, s*x trafficking, grooming, physical vi*lence, abuse, exploitation, poverty, trauma, and misogyny.]

Spoiler Warning ⚠️: Contains quotes from the book.

This novel is about a 13-year-old girl from Nepal who was sold by her stepfather into sex slavery and trafficked to India.

In the first few chapters, we see her growing up in poverty and the effects of it. In hopes of easing her mother's burden, she considers going to the city to become a maid.

Little does she know that her stepfather sold her for less than Rs 400.

Male supremacy and how patriarchy has taught girls to be submissive since childhood. This theme is present throughout this book, illustrating how women were severely punished if they failed to do so.

One day, the realisation hits her: it's not the reality she wanted; she is stuck, she can't leave anytime soon.

"I look down at my red-painted nails and my new shoes. Something is not right here. I don’t know what is going on, but it is not right, not right at all."

"Another sound interrupts the rhythmic thud of the headboard. I know this noise from somewhere.
I work very hard to make it out. Finally, I identify it. It is the muffled sound of sobbing."

"Habib rolls off me. Then I understand: I was the person crying.
They seem real, but I know that they are not. In between, men come. They crush my bones with their weight. They split me open. Then they disappear."

"I cannot tell which of the things they do to me are real, and which are nightmares."

"I decide to think that it is all a nightmare. Because if what is happening is real,
it is unbearable."

"I hurt. I am torn and bleeding where the men have been. I pray to the gods to make the hurting go away. To make the burning and the aching and the bleeding stop. Music and laughter come from the room next door. Horns and shouting come from the street below. No one can hear me. Not even the gods."

The David Beckham Boy, a boy her age whose mother worked in the same brothel, taught her how to do math and how to read certain English words. However, he eventually left with her mother, leaving her alone.

Her life was flipped upside down in a span of just a few days. She was faced with a different kind of math, not equations from school, but rather how to escape this Happiness House.

"If I bring a half-dozen men to my room each night, and each man pays Mumtaz thirty rupees, I am one hundred and eighty rupees closer each day to going back home. If I work for a hundred days more, I should have nearly enough to pay back the twenty thousand rupees I owe to Mumtaz."

There were other women in the house, and their experiences were described in this book. One of them was Anita, who at one time tried to escape but was beaten to the point where half of her face was paralysed.

‘The goondas are men who work for Mumtaz,’ she says. ‘If you try to escape, they will hunt you. If they catch you, they will beat you. If you get a disease, they will throw you out in the street. If you try to get back in, they will beat you. The goondas smashed her cheek and her jaw. Now one side of her face is dead. She could not smile, even if she had a reason to.’

Another woman was Monica, who had a child and a sick father. She struggled to provide for her family, but didn't accept her.

‘My little girl can write,’ she says. ‘I am paying her school fees.’ So it is true, the rumour of Monica’s child. ‘I paid for her medicine,’ Monica says, thrusting her pointy chin in the air. ‘And for an operation for my father. And for a pair of spectacles for my sister. I raise my chin, too. I am buying a new roof for my family,’ I say.

Monica exhales. ‘They will thank us,’ she says. ‘They will thank us and honour us when we go home.’ ‘Look,’ she says. She shrugs off her shawl, revealing arms and shoulders covered in angry purple bruises. ‘He did this with his cane.’ I wince. But Monica laughs bitterly.

The 14-year-old was given hope one day by a man that he would come to save her and take her to a much safer place.

"I learned ways to be with men. I learned how to forget what was happening to me even as it was happening."

"Now, while I wait for the man to return, and the men come to my bed, I clench the sheets in my hands, for fear that I will pound them to death with my fists.
I grit my teeth, for fear that I will bite through their skin to their very bones. I squeeze my eyes closed tight, for fear that I will see what has actually happened to me."

I see other men, Indian men.
‘My name is Lakshmi,’ I say. ‘I am from Nepal.
I am fourteen years old.’

This book does a really good job of showing the harsh reality of this system. It isn’t just about poverty but how deep patriarchy and misogyny go, and how girls are taught to accept suffering. Even her own mother tells her that she just has to survive when she gets married and that she must always do what she is told

Then her whole life changes in just a few days, turned into years. Everything feels like a bad dream. She is told to do whatever a man says because he will pay more money, which she can use to escape this house. Her childhood is taken away in just a few months. Even the police look the other way for money instead of helping them, letting the abuse continue.

We often talk about prostitution and child trafficking, but we don't know much about what they go through.

This novel is an eye-opener for sure and makes you see a world through a different lens.

https://www.unodc.org/southasia/frontpage/2013/Sept/india-from-darjeeling-to-delhi-story-of-a-young-girl-who-was-trafficked.html

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2569945/

EDIT: One point I’d add is that the other commenter pointed out that this book seems to be written through the lens of a white saviour complex. It doesn’t appear to represent South Asian women or focus on their issues, but instead depicts them poorly, with some of the text coming across as blatantly racist.

It also doesn’t seem to mention or give credit to the many activists and organisations in India that have been fighting against these issues for years such as human trafficking or child exploitation.
