I love this hobby so much

This is my second flush of APE and first flush of B+. I had a good bit of luck with my GT before this as well. I know my beginners luck will run out, but I can’t stop!

Thinking about switching to functional or gourmet after this, because I have more than I know what to do with but I love growing so much…

APEs Just About Ready?

Hello again, friends! Approaching the finish line of my second grow - first time for APE. The stipes are just starting to soften, I am thinking they will be ready tomorrow. These seem to be as big as they will get for this flush, right? The caps are fairly dark and I don’t want to miss my window…

Stalled Bags?

I don’t remember exactly when these were inoculated (within the last two weeks) and they were B&S a bit early at 30%. (B+ strain)

AI is telling me that these bags are contaminated, but there is no evidence that I can see or smell to support that. I feel like the last time it told me that it was wrong, so I wanted to ask the actual experts. (I’m not expecting shade for using AI, but please don’t overdo it) lol.

These are front/back of two bags. The grains that aren’t colonized are dry and loose, no slime or smell that I can pick up on. I am considering either a). Letting them ride. b) removing the uncolonized areas and S2B…

What do we think?

Stuck?

I lucked into a situation where I was able to develop into a very effective leader in a ‘world class’ enterprise. I had misfortune befall me and I as let go and had to take a step down in order to take care of my family.

I am currently in an operation with leaders that struggle with operations at a very fundamental level and are consumed with being in charge versus being effective and removing obstacles; the company is surprisingly outdated considering their size and name recognition, but there is no growth mindset or attempt at professionalism.

I don’t have any education beyond high school and a career of servant leadership that spans almost two decades, so I am having trouble even getting considered for a role comparable to my previous one.

I am becoming increasingly aware that the odds are against me regarding building a more effective leadership culture, but I don’t feel like I have anywhere to go to develop myself and others and continue to restore my career.

I don’t know exactly what I am looking for here, one of the things I lost was a mentor and I feel like I am screaming into the abyss when I have these conversations nowadays. I guess I just want to feel heard and understood.

Forgive me if this is not the right space for this.

I’m so tired

I’m tired of myself at this point. I keep trying and trying, hoping and hoping that things will get better - but I know they never will. I’m so embarrassed being a grown man crying in my basement bedroom because she has once again completely torn me down and made me wish I was dead. At this point I deserve the abuse for being so weak and stupid.

Just a stupid emotional rant - again.

Final Results (First Time)

Finally depleted the cake (two flushes), dried, cleaned, and sealed my harvest. Came out to a little under 10 oz. dried. APEs are on deck and ready to S2B in about a week!

Thanks! (Continued)

Came home after work to a full canopy and got to picking, wanted to share again! The plate is the dried result from yesterday…way more than I anticipated!

Thanks!

Just about to harvest my first ever grow (in batches). I work 10 hour shifts, so I’m afraid the bigger ones will tear before I can get to them after work tomorrow.
I just wanted to share since this community has been so helpful and educational!

The Dreaded Dream

I’ve been clean from 7 for almost a year now (hold the applause, I still use Kratom), went through the living nightmare of WD from a 1g a day habit and relapsed three hellish times before it was outlawed in my state and I finally could let it go.

Anyways, just like when I quit drinking years and years ago, I had The Dream. I dreamt I found d an old stash of pills and gobbled them up and then immediately went back to WD’s. I am sure it was triggered by finding an empty Pressd pack while cleaning out my car earlier this week. Thank god it was empty, because I never really beat it, if I was being honest.

Just wanted to share with a cohort that would get it.

99 Percent RH - S2B Today [technique]

Just S2B this morning, there was already some moisture in the grain bags, but I followed the video from
Midwest GK, and lightly misted the lid. The hygrometer is reading 99 RH, so I added a filter patch and cracked the lid for a moment. Is this something I should panic and react to so early in the process? I’ve read that is too high, but I’m nervous about opening the lid too much and contaminating an otherwise successful grow (so far).

You Need to Work on That…

Narc wife the other day said she wanted me to open up to her instead of shutting down and avoiding arguing. I told her that I didn’t feel comfortable doing that because it always makes things worse because of her reactions…

…she told me I need to work on that. K.

Sorry to be the hundredth person to ask, but… (Actives)

GT - if it matters; I did B&S about 3-4 days ago. It exploded quicker than I thought l. I was thinking about S2B around Friday, but what do you all think?

Sometimes I Feel Bad

There are days when she seems sad or hurt because I have hit my absolute limit of her bullshit, and I end up feeling shitty or questioning if I really am the villain she says I am. Even if the events in her head are fake, the resulting feelings are real - and she’s someone I used to love dearly.

Is that just me? Am I being foolish?

First actual grow, so I want to avoid screwing up. I read that 10-20% colonization is when to break, shake, and repack. Does this look about right to you - or wait for a bit more coverage?
GT, if it makes any

Thanks!
