Are smart telescopes becoming the new iPhone cycle?

I am brand new to astrophotography after spending a few years with dji drones. I found that hobby was becoming expensive and new releases every few months

I recently discovered the dwarf mini and decided to buy it. I then came across the seestar S30 Pro at twice the price and the new S50 coming out in September. I also see that the S30 pro availability online being extremely limited which appears to be intentional

Id like to settle on a smart telescope, focus on learning about the night sky and not get pulled into the ever changing market. I know some people have bought telescopes for 5k plus and perhaps dont mind spending $500-$1000 every one to two years to replace their smart devices

Is the technology changing that rapidly to justify the new devices and should I stick with what I have for now.? I wondered about waiting for the next smart telescope release and sticking with it for a year or two

First night using the Dwarf Mini.

First two photos were taken far north away from my city (2.5 on the bortle light pollution scale) . I tried the 3rd Pic in my backyard where light pollution was listed as 8.5

Bell offered a second cellphone plan but activated the sim card immediately

Im not sure if this was shared before or common knowledge. In my experience, the customer would need to activate the sim card by calling the 1-888 number at bell. This is was i was told when speaking with them. Instead, they tell me that the sim card is activated "as soon as it leaves the warehouse". I paid for 3 months and didn't realize it

I filed a complaint and a refund was issued.

AIO I started a 3 month sabbatical june 22nd and my visiting in-laws are hinting at staying with us for 2 of the 3 months.

I spent 5 years supporting adults with autism in a secure setting. I am beyond wiped out after covid and decided to take some time off and rethink my career and basically rebuild myself from the ground up. My in-laws arrived as planned and said they are due back on New York for August 15th.

My wife and I just had a heated argument. She said that im thinking too far ahead and I dont know how long they are actually staying and might spend 2-3 weeks at her mom's or cottaging. I am trying to explain that i should have been asked weeks ago if I was okay with this.

My issue with all of this is obviously not having my home to myself when I need it most, not being asked if they can stay for this long but I also have to consider the fact that my wife works 6 days a week for 10 hours a day and wont be around for most of the days they are at my home.

They have two kids aged 6 and 8 and by brother inlaw is already making comments like I dont spend enough time with his kids while my wife thinks im overreacting and I dont have to commit to spending time with them.

If I had known all of this, I would have planned my sabbatical for august 15th and avoided all of this mess. Its so annoying that I am losing sleep over it and id like my wife to back me up and at least get a sense of what they're planning

Have an opportunity to take a few months off work and looking for travel ideas

Im giving myself $3500 and taking my suv. I spent time in banff, Halifax and algonquin recently and wouldn't mind a long drive to see more of this country.

My plan is to pack supplies, camera, drone, and camping gear. I would give myself two weeks and looking for ideas of where to go leaving from toronto

I took 3 months off of work. Looking for solo travel ideas

I couldn't take another meeting, or stressful deadline or another piece of feedback or new HR policy. I just need to leave for a while and tune out. Im looking for ideas and want to leave in two weeks from now

Id like to pack up my car and just leave for two weeks or take a flight . Sleep in the back of my suv and see ontario. Ive spent enough time in algonquin, I have a planned trip to halifax for the second time with family coming up and ive been to Calgary and Banff

Im giving myself $3500 and will leave my wife and dog behind. Id love to see other parts of ontario, bring my camera and camping gear and prefer driving over hiking.

Thanks in advance

Dad who is an alcoholic, could not stand up today and im worried

Im here with him at the hospital. His stomach is distended, he hasn't pooped or urinated in 5 days and too weak to stand up. He spent two days straight on his couch

His creatine levels are 900 and he's hooked to a catheter but he has not peed since we arrived yesterday. The doctors want to rule out medication being a factor before any discussions about dialysis

The doctors are not saying anything at the moment. He's 69, drank for 30 years and suffers from chronic alcoholism

Would they even consider dialysis or transplant? Not to sound awful but is this the beginning of the end ?

Is this harassment

A person 2 levels of leadership above me and I were not working well together on a project. I had a list of 4 complaints I had shared with my boss in supervison and heard this person had issues as well.

I was pulled into a meeting with senior leadership and HR and expecting the issues to be heard. Instead I was told that "several colleagues" brought forward concerns with me but very few examples were given and I left the meeting confused

I asked in an email soon after for examples to help me understand the feedback. Leadership Instead sent me "themes" of my behavior for the last 4 years and said that I could bring it to HR but "there is no point" because this staff was going through a rough time at work and HR knows about it

The point of all this------

Within the 5 pages of feedback, this one staff had seemingly made up several complaints and 3 of which happened while I was on vacation and not even at work. Senior leadership then denied me a follow up meeting to share my concerns

My question about harassment ---

My complaints were that this staff was belittling me in meetings which is evidenced by group texts from colleagues asking why they were being so rude to me.

The second complaint was that this staff gave me permission to seek out vendors for a job and then claimed that the vendor was unqualified and not vetted despite claiming earlier they had done this themselves

This staff then claimed that I was making decisions without their approval when the approval was clearly laid out in emails in days prior

The last complaint was simply their rude and dismissive tone that was again noted by several colleagues

I appear to be in deep trouble here. Senior leadership denied any follow-up while my director said the HR route was pointless

My HUD is navigating to this section by itself

I cant tell if there is an internal electrical issues or outside interference. The display will navigate to the settings tab, scroll down in the AD - Display section, scroll to "display information" and stop there

Its happned 3 times in the last half an hour while parked. In the past, it has switched to am, scrolled to the last channel and volume goes to max .......?
