Bloody show and working out?

Hi all, FTM here 38 weeks today. I had my bloody show yesterday and it’s been shedding slowly since then. Should I avoid working out? I’ve been focusing on stretching and walking. Should I not weight lift? No contractions but starting to feel some light pelvic pressure and cramps.

Boy names that start w/ C - Brazilian/American parents

I am Brazilian and my husband is Irish and we would love a “softer” boy name starting with a c. Our top 2 names are Cody & Calvin (Cal). Husband likes Connor and I do not. I like Lucas (not a c name but similar vibes IMO) and he does not. Can anyone help? I’d love something that is easier for my Brazilian parents to pronounce. Thanks!

Going back to work after having a baby?!

Hi everyone! I’m a FTM 31 weeks! I own a gym and I am a trainer there. I see clients 3 days/week and my days range from 3-6 hours long.

I am due Aug 30th. My plan on returning to work is that I will ease back in with just 1 day/week after 9 weeks, so starting first week of November. From there, I’ll gradually take back my clients so that by the end of November I’ll be fully back to my 3 days/week schedule.

Important to note that while my job is physical, I am not doing the workout with clients, I am not shuffling weights around for them, but I am setting up stations at time and cleaning up after sessions.

So my question is: is my plan reasonable? Please give me all the advice!!

Working until 39 weeks??

Hi all! I am a FTM at 31 weeks 27 y/o. My pregnancy has been relatively easy and unproblematic. Have been able to stay active (with modifications, dealing with a hamstring tendon strain).

I am a trainer/own a gym. I work 3 days/week at the studio training clients. I work about 6 hours on 1 of those days, and about 3 on the other 2. My clients know they are expected to re-rack their own weights, most of my clients don’t need much demo for exercises as they have been working with me for years, and thankfully they help me wipe down their mats. All in all, I’m alternating between standing and sitting so it’s not too much physical movement but it’s a lot of energy.

That being said, I’m due Aug 30th and planned to work up until Fri Aug 28th. Am I being totally naive??? I’m currently starting feel some serious fatigue and I’m getting a little worried still being 9 weeks out.

To change or not to change your last name (legally)?

To those of you who did not change your last name legally to your partners, do you feel any sort of way about it? I’m specifically speaking to those who have children who only have the last name of your partners (not a hyphen).

I’m pregnant and newly married, and we are thinking of giving my last name to the baby as his middle. Wondering if I’ll regret not changing my name to match the last name of our family unit though?

Affirmations/advice for birth?

Hi everyone!! I’m a FTM 31 weeks. I tend to be pretty anxious and a planner and most of this pregnancy I’ve been pretty chill and I am now realizing I think maybe I’ve been compartmentalizing my fear about giving birth and the unknown. I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night feeling very anxious and it hits me seemingly out of nowhere.

Soooo I was hoping to see if anyone had any advice or affirmations or videos I could watch to help me keep a positive mindset going into giving birth? I keep trying to tell myself that my body was biologically made to do this, that so many women give birth every day, and that I’m delivering at a great hospital so I’m in good hands. I think I’m just scared and need to actively work on the mindset piece.

Any advice welcome! Thank you all!💗

Bittersweet feelings about pregnancy at 30 weeks FTM

Hi everyone!! I’m just looking to see if anyone shares similar feeling as me at this point in my pregnancy. I’m a FTM, 27 y/o. My pregnancy has been pretty easy all things considered. No sickness or aversions. Been dealing with some back and pelvic pain, acid reflux, plus a hamstring injury but mostly it’s been okay.

I’m 30 weeks along now and I have so many feelings. I tend to be a somewhat anxious person and I have been very much not anxious throughout this pregnancy. I’m not really letting my brain go to places that create expectations for labor, birth, postpartum - BUT as we get closer… I’m getting nervous! I know it will all be fine but I’m definitely starting to get nervous about giving birth, having a baby, recovering, my life changing completely, not being able to go out or see people because of anxiety or nervousness to trek somewhere with a baby, etc.

I’ll say I have a great partner and I’m not worried on that front. Just having a lot of feelings I’m sure are very normal.

Another thing I’m feeling a bit conflicted on is that it makes me really happy and excited to feel the baby move, and I am excited to meet him but all these fears come up around it too. And part of me already feels a little sad to not be pregnant (not that it’s been super fun), I think maybe it’s just a really special closeness?

I’m just rambling at this point, but just want to share where I’m at because the 30 week mark kinda made me go “oh shit! 10 weeks goes by FAST!”

Thanks in advance 🩵

Struggling with not being able to workout as much as usual

Hi everyone! I’m having a really hard time adjusting to not being able to have my normal level of activity while pregnant. I think I’m giving myself a bit of a hard time - but I wanted to put it out there to see if I’m crazy?

I’m 27 weeks pregnant, FTM. I’m 27 y/o. I own a gym, and I’m a trainer. So needless to say fitness is a huge part of my life. Sadly about 6 weeks ago I injuries my hamstring tendon due to overuse and maybe something related to pregnancy. Not sure. At that point, I was heavy lifting including deadlifts, squats, lunges, teaching barre weekly, etc.

Due to the injury I’ve had to cut out all weighted lower body exercises. It’s gotten a bit better but it’s not gone, and as my body continues to grow and change I think it will linger a bit. At this point, I’ve been doing pelvic floor & regular PT 2x/week, walking about 10k steps per day, and continuing to do core and upper body daily with weights only slightly scaled down from usual.

I find myself anxious about losing my identity when it comes to fitness, losing strength, and frankly losing my physical appearance. Overall I’m frustrated as this injury has made it so I’m unable to be as active as I usually am. I had high hopes that I’d workout and lift heavy all throughout my pregnancy and that just didn’t happen. I’m just a bit discouraged and scared.

Does anyone have experience with this? Did you find you were able to get back to it once you had your baby? I just worry once I have the baby I won’t have time to devote to myself and my workouts and I really thought I could “get ahead” by working out a lot beforehand. Any advice is welcome. Thank you all❤️

Chiropractor while pregnant?

I’m wondering if anyone has seen a chiropractor while pregnant?

I fully believe in chiropractors and think that they can be really beneficial. And I’ll mention I go to pelvic floor PT 2 days/week. I just went to a family chiro near me that has over 80 5 star reviews, nothing negative. I just got kind of a weird vibe but I’m not sure if I should give it another shot.

I feel like the adjustments were a little bit rough. She adjusted my upper back but then also did my lower back and the twisting she had me do felt intense. I’m not sure if I’m overreacting but I’m so nervous about something happening to my baby. Everything else she did felt relatively gentle.

Side note: when I walked in her second question regarding my pregnancy was a strange look of pity asking “planned or unplanned??” Not that it really matters but I’m 27 years old and also married. It just felt kinda weird. Otherwise she was really nice but I’m not sure if I’m just overreacting.

What do you all think? Should I go back? I do think maybe she could help me but I’m not sure.
