It would be easier to photo bash with the second pic since there’s more of a theme but I had trouble with the first one.

This is a persona I made for an old friend in 4th or 5th grade. I redrew her to heal my childhood ig. I wish I still had the oc drawing :(

Manba is a form of gyaru that evolved from the sub genre “ganguro”.

Gyaru and all it’s other sub genres were mainly born in shibuya and ikebukuro Japan in the 90’s. Gyaru as a whole gained peak popularity in the 2000’s and has gained some popularity again all over the world.

yamanba is a very similar sub genre of gyaru. The name yamanba comes from a mountain witch from a Japanese folk story. She was an old lady with dark skin and white hair. That’s how every gyaru look came to be.

Manba is characterized by light hair, tan skin, heavy contrast makeup, and colorful accessories.

Javier is part of Paula and Lae’s band. He plays the piano! He loves the piano very much and is obsessed with it. He will only use his olive green piano.

Javier is neurodivergent and was born into a rich, Hispanic family. His parents love him but they don’t know how to take care of someone like him. They try to make him “normal “ but he will forever be awkward.

Every outfit in his closet is the exact same. Javier’s parents want him to look mature and they think the maroon suits him. Javier hates this. Not the suit but the color. He wears green accessories so he’s not technically disobeying his parents while still wearing something he likes. He bought the wacky grandpa shoes because they are green and they don’t have shoelaces. He struggles a lot with tying shoelaces:( his parents tried countless times to teach him but he never gets it.
When he’s forced to wear more appropriate shoes, Lae always offers to tie them for him.

Lae has the biggest crush on Javier and doesn’t try to hide it. It makes Paula uncomfortable:/ Javier feels absolutely nothing for Lae and doesn’t understand why he likes him so much. Javier is asexual and will never like Lae. This doesn’t stop Lae though. He often kisses Javier’s forehead and holds his hand. Javier isn’t a fan of physical touch but he doesn’t mind when it’s from his friends.

Javier is an adult and has all the resources he needs to move out but he’s too scared. Who’s gonna spoil him when he moves out!? He thought about moving in with his friends but their lifestyle is a nightmare to him so he’d rather stay with his family.

When he’s hanging with the guys, he usually just follows behind them and doesn’t talk much. The boys feel like they aren’t showing Javier enough attention while Javier feels very grateful to have such sweet and understanding friends.

Lae has been one of my oc’s for a while now. He is a very shy guy and I imagine him to be Slavic. He is very tall and sensitive about his height. He has a lot of addictions and is extremely depressed. He is also in a band with Paula! One of his bestest friends:D he’s the guitarist. He’s a very sweet guy, he just gets really nervy :( he has daddy issues and his mom passed giving birth to him. Paula and Javier are his chosen family. He lets his hair grow over his face so he doesn’t have to make direct eye contact with anyone. He’s bisexual but kinda gay. His favorite food is pickles but he’s insecure about it cuz he’s insecure about everything. Lae isn’t his real name, he just wants to be edgier.

Looking at the drawing now, I don’t really like it. I know I could make him look so much better but I wanted to draw him in this new style. This is why my style is so inconsistent. I don’t mind it but other people do. Idk I’ll figure something out.

Visual kei Was born around the late 80’s and early 90’s in Japan. The look is inspired by mainly gothic rock. Visual kei focuses on exaggerated visuals, as most kei styles do. Vkei people often wear black or dark colors and dramatic, sometimes anime-like makeup. Though this is most common, there are some people that don’t fit into all those categories but can still be considered Vkei. Like goth, Vkei is very focused on music and rebellion. “X”, Dead end and Buck-Tick are a few of the bands that shaped Vkei into what it was in its peak years.

I’m trying something new with the rendering. It was going well until I made it to the hair and face. I know the hair is under rendered but I’m not sure what’s wrong with the face. I think it’s the eye? This isn’t my best work but I’m proud of the lighting :) It’s okay. I’ll learn from this experience.

Idk what her name is. I imagine her to be Latina and Indian. She is INSANE and is the leader of a small cult. She has gotten into a lot of trouble but her followers keep protecting her. She makes them believe that they’re invincible with godly power so they fight for her. Most of them di3 :/
Her followers see her as a god.

She has really bad ocd. Her favorite hair product is hairspray. If one strand is out of place she’ll lose her mind. She treats her followers like soldiers and she’s very blunt.
