First Match Aug 29

My family and I are going to our first match ever on Aug. 29. It’s the Family Day event with Chicago Fire and I’ll have my 7 year old with me.

Anything I should know to make it a great first experience for all?

Heard we like Egg Fried Rice

Heard we were talking about egg fried rice. My Wok was trashed so had to use the old nonstick the other night. Ended up using it as the base for my Miso Glazed Black Cod. Hope you like it.

How did I do?

How’d I do with a French style omelette. Grated pepper jack, bacon, chives and some avocado.

43M

Maybe it’s part of a midlife crisis, maybe it’s the isolation of a dad and husband over time.

I miss genuine deep conversations. I miss getting to know someone over text or chat. Talking about life, philosophy, musings about everything and nothing. All while not being judged and feeling like I’m being judged.

Maybe that’s the nostalgia of AIM and ICQ.

I’m not going to go to much further in the post that’s what the connection is for.

Sell me on it

Ok so I’ve been driving a 2024 Chevy Equinox EV 2LT with AWD. My lease is up in December and honestly for my first EV I loved it. Fits great with the family lifestyle, love the surround camera for back up and pulling into spots. But I hate the turn radius and then front end is just longer then it needs to be.

So looking at an EV6, unsure if I will go used 2025 Wind or lease a 2027.

Tell me the good bad the ugly. Big bonus if you came or went to the Equinox.

Mortadella with pistachio cream

Was craving a good Italian sandwich for the past few weeks. So baked some focaccia on Monday. Made a mascarpone pistachio cream yesterday. Today I was assembled with some Parmesan, arugula, and balsamic glaze.

So good. 😊

Any Sounders bars on the EASTSIDE

I’m over in the Bothell Kirkland area. Been getting into the game thanks to the World Cup like many others. Going to my first match in August and looking forward to it.

Are there any bars over here on the eastside where fans hang out. Im not just talking about would pit the game on. But actual fans coming together to enjoy the match.

Sounders Bars

Are there any EASTSIDE bars that are good hangs to watch Sounders games from. I’m not just talking about willing to put the game on but where fans actually gather to watch the match?

Cherry Man

Any signs of the roadside cherry tents? I’ve yet to see them this year. My wife said she saw one but we need some Rainer cherries. 🍒

50th state North Dakota Trip

Just got back from Alaska wrapping up my 49th state. North Dakota is the last on my list and I am looking for suggestions for must see, do, eat and stay.

I will be traveling with my wife and 7 year old very energetic boy.

We are living in Seattle right now so that will be our point of origin.

Somewhat conservative on our financial planning but also don’t want to miss on the must do’s.

4-5 nights is probably ideal.

Let me hear your thoughts.

Bluetooth speaker in room

Sailing tomorrow to Alaska we have a balcony room. My 6 year old normally goes to sleep with soft piano music. Can I bring a small Jambox Bluetooth speaker on board?

This is a 14 year old jambox about the length of my hand and not super loud.

Just don’t want to get to the docks and they say it’s a prohibited item.
