Seeking for advise

I'm currently building and painting my Maggotkin army. While doing my Plaguebearers, I was already thinking about my Pusgoyle Blightlords an (accidently) came across the perfect color for their rotflies. Their body will get the light pink color of the Plaguebearers tongue shown in the picture. It got a nice light-pink, fleshy tone to it and will make the flies look very gross (the fact that it ironically is called "Fairy Skin" is also a plus).

Here comes my request for advise. What color would you do the chitin and wings in? I was thinking about Black Templar black (nice blueish black) but also a brownish or pink/purple might work. The riders will get a Death Guard green based color, just like the rotsword in the second picture.

Any experience? Any opinion? Any suggestion?

Thanks

Copper or bronze trim

I'm planning to start a Maggotkin army (my first full army after only painting any models that I liked the look of) and I'm not sure about my scheme.

Here is a plague marine that I just did. I like how grimmy and dirty he came out but I'm unsure regarding the trim. I used bronze and as you can see, I loose a lot of color with my style, so i was thinking of replacing bronze with copper.

What's your opinion on the best color for Maggotkin trim?

Any other suggestions?

Had an enlightenment today

Today was the day. I suddenly became aware that if I stop chasing the perfect paintjob from social media and start embracing my own stile, I will be a happier man.

Please check out my Plague Marine. He is far away from being perfect but I love how he turned out. Hope you like it, too

Necropolis Hawks

Experimenting with this paint scheme and really like the outcome. If I was about to start a Space Marine army, it would probably be this chapter

First Flawless Blade

First flawless blade painted. Still not sure about the color scheme. Like the magenta but also want to try a white/light grey one

Trying something new.

Any ideas on how I can get my hands on some Decals?

Flesh Tearers and Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard

I don't paticulary love the golden armour, so this is my approach on a paint scheme for BA and FT.

What do you think? Any suggestion?

Primaris-Scale Red Corsairs in the making

Everything below Primaris size is too small for my limited painting skills, so I kitbashed these Red Corsairs.

Advise on AoS Lore

I always have been a 40k guy but rather than playing, I focused on painting and enjoying the lore.

I now want to paint my first AoS miniatures (Stormcast eternals are cheap on ebay, so I will start there) and also would like to dig into the lore. I grew up with oldhammer books (Felix and Gotrek, Konrad Triology, etc) and just re-started the hobby, so I was a bit confused. First internet research gave me the base idea of the AoS setting but I would like to learn in a more flavorful way.

Are there any books in the AoS worls that also explain the world building, especially focusing on the change from old world to AoS?

Thanks!
