Perfect World International: Retrospective Inputs (video project)

Hello!

I'm a 30 something neurodivergent gamer who is doing a little personal project.

I have a wish to create a documentary video about players who were or are still around PWI, a VERY old Chinese MMORPG from my childhood.

I have extremely fond memories from my time of 2009-14, playing on the Dreamweaver server, and finding friends in my teen years, with some of them still playing after all this time. Hell, my old guild is somehow still going after I dropped by to recover my account for filming environments a few months back, one of them inspiring my dream to become a graphic designer and some of them helped me with my homework 😂.

But I don't see any or many videos on its history, and I want to try and document it the best I can. I understand that in hindsight it is a HEAVY pay to win game, and I remember a player called Keosev making a video about this year's ago - however, that video has long since been removed.

What I'm asking for is the following:

  1. When did you start playing?

  2. What's your fondest memories?

  3. If you quit, did you come back? Or why did you quit in the first place?

  4. I will be talking about the failed PWI reboot. If you were part of the excitement/player testing, I want to hear about why you wanted to play it initially, or why you think it went down the drain.

If I missed anything, I would love to hear open discussions about this. It will help me with building a script on what to write for the history of this game. Any updates to what's happened while I was gone would also be a boon.

And if you maybe have any footage to share, let me know!

Thanks in advance!

[TOMT] Funny Cat Video (early 2000's)

Im trying to find ONE particular cat video from the prehistoric days of youtube of a grey kitty (looks like a siberian?) on a pink blanket going absolutely apeshit getting its butt scratched. Its to show my partner and its really bothering me. Clip was about 30 seconds from memory and in some clips ive heard a laugh track behind it.

I can only be of assistance with two of the sounds it makes... one where it babbles like Yoshi, and the other half where it goes....

'LEOM GUM GUM GUM *snorts twice * aaaaaaaa'

My partner is autistic and HD is his game hyperfixation. He had a wonderful commissioner 3d print his gear for him! Pardon the crumpled up flag, it was crushed in storage and I didn't have time to get it ironed for the day of the con this was taken at.

He's usually very shy, but this suit gives him such a confident persona. He ended up meeting two other divers and doing 'patrols' with them around the con floor. Thank you to this game and it's community for bringing him joy!
