Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum)

Finally getting consistent growth and at last roots. The trial and error is really the most rewarding/frustrating part. Last photo is new seeds sprouting for fresh material, took a total of 3 months before sprouting. We are learning that patience is one of the most important things with tissue culture.

Kanna in-vitro

Starting to dial in our recipes for something that works with Kanna. Happy to finally see some roots. The seeds are amazing the final picture is a seed that took 3 months to sprout.

Kratom update

Learning valuable lessons, just because your plants are alive and growing doesn’t mean they are thriving.

Changed up are nutrient media and had healthy roots in 5 days with no PGR’s.

First picture is MS with hormones after a month. Second picture is McCown woody media with no PGR’s after 6 days.

Woody plants

Was asked on here recently about woody plants, started our first experiments today with different nutrient media. Does anybody have insights or advice? Has anybody used any of these mixes? Also very curious to see how they affect the PGR’s in future experiments

Kanna

Finally after almost a month we got a little one popping up. The rest is some of our Kanna already growing in-vitro, media recipe isn’t perfect but it’s getting better.

u/EthnoBotanicalsTC — 24 days ago

Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum)

Been adjusting the recipe and no it doesn’t look great.
And no I’m not sure exactly why.
Buuuut it does have healthier growth than before and that is a win 🎉.

The moon man clean at last

Adding moon man to our library, cleaned it a few times. Finally it’s clean and starting to grow healthy. This tissue culture thing has taught us patience we didn’t know we had.
