Amazon claims I refused delivery

I realize this is minor, but it's annoying nonetheless. I had an order that was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but was delayed and supposed to deliver today. I checked the status at 6:30 pm and it wasn't even out for delivery yet. I've been through this song and dance with Amazon twice before, and never got my delivery. There was the option to cancel the delivery, which I did because one of the items was a piece of medical equipment I need for surgery on Friday, and I don't want to be in Amazon limbo waiting for it. My issue is that now it shows that I refused delivery. I technically didn't refuse it. It was never out for delivery.

Elevated Jell‐O

For whatever bizarre reason, I've been craving Jell-O. This is pineapple flavored. I elevated it by substituting pineapple soda for the water. The layer on top is the fizzy bubbles from the soda. Peach is good too. 🍑 🍍

On-Q pain relief

Does anyone who has had the surgery have any experience with the On-Q pain relief system? I know most people get the regional block, but I can't have one for my surgery next week (it's contraindicated). From what I understand, it's a catheter left in the shoulder attached to tubing and a ball filled with a lidocaine like medication. Gravity constantly infuses the joint with numbing medicine. If you have had this, how well did it work to decrease your pain?

Spectrum salespeople have lost their minds

I don't know whether to laugh or be creeped out. Tonight around 8ish, I was minding my business and watching TV when I heard a horn honking. I thought it was for my neighbor, so I ignored it. They continued to honk several times for the next couple of minutes. I finally got up and looked out the front door and saw a guy standing outside the driver's door of his car. It turned out he was a salesman for Spectrum, and he proceeded to try and yell his pitch from the car. I basically said to get lost in a nice way, but I couldn't believe how lazy this was. I guess it beats him coming to my door? 🤷‍♀️

Post op pain

I have surgery coming up for a rotator cuff repair in two weeks. This will be my second one, I re-tore it two weeks post op from the first one in October. Unfortunately, it took five months to diagnose. The pain was bad enough I ended up seeing pain management and have been on 5mg Percocet every eight hours for several months now. I pretty much try to keep it to a minimum of twice a day (am/pm).

My biggest fear is the pain after the next procedure. I'm worried I may have a degree of tolerance if the pain is way more significant. How do I convey this to my doctor without sounding like I am drug seeking? My hope is not to need them for very long after the repair. I don't know if this matters, but I can't take NSAIDs for very many days because of my kidneys. They cause me to swell up like the girl in Willy Wonka. Any advice would be great. Or, feel free to tell me I'm just being paranoid. *Edit - I forgot to mention I can't have a nerve block because it's on the same side as my VNS (nerve stimulator) and it's contraindicated.

Question about Uber pet

I am having shoulder surgery in 2 weeks and won't be able to drive or lift anything for a while. I will have to kennel my dog for a few days and will need an Uber pet ride to pick him up from the facility. I've only ever used Uber twice.

My question is, would it be unreasonable to ask the driver to lift my dog in/out of the backseat? He has never learned to do it himself and can't jump up on things (couch, bed, etc.). For reference, he is a 14yo dachshund/terrier mix that weighs approximately 24lbs. I know most all dog owners say this, but he is extremely friendly and not at all aggressive. He lives for belly rubs, and has never bitten anyone - though I know there is never a guarantee of behavior.

Would this be an outrageous ask? Also, when requesting the ride, is there a place to request this? Finally, if this is possible, how much extra should I tip? Thanks!

**Additional info - I'm definitely not trying to be a difficult customer, I'm just in a difficult position and am desperate. I am alone in my town with no friends or neighbors to ask (I don't get out much due to frequent illness). My family member who I moved here to near decided to move back to my home state. (I'm pathetic I know!) I really appreciate you guys pointing out a few things I haven't thought of. I guess if worst comes to worst, I'll have to try and lift him out with my good arm and hope for the best.

**Final update - Thank you all for your comments...they were incredibly insightful and helpful. I believe I was able to solve the problem. I'm going to pay the incredibly nice man who helps me with my yard to do it.

Keeping ants out of dog food

Does anyone have tips to keep ants from invading my dog's food bowl? I have had an ant problem since I moved into my house over 2 years ago. They would get especially bad when it rained. After a lot of hard work and using Zevo I thought I had them under control.

My dog is a "free eater" meaning he only eats a little kibble at a time all through the day. Lately, I've noticed ants getting into his food. I wash the bowl between refills, but they are still invading it. I still see the occasional stray around the house, but not like his food bowl.

I know Zevo is supposed to be safe around pets, but it's a little too close for comfort to spray around his food. Also, the smell of it is incredibly strong. He doesn't like strong scents like that (neither do I) and I don't think he would eat with that smell. Does anyone know of a natural repellent that would keep them away without harming my dog?

Do you find programs disappearing from your watchlists? I'm posting in this sub, but have noticed across a few platforms including HULU, Tubi, and Prime. I'll add movies/shows to my various watch lists only to figure out they're missing later. Aren't the watch lists maintained in our accounts for each server? Or is it by each TV? I've noticed it happening more often when switching TVs in different rooms (Roku to Fire and vice-versa).

Also, I can watch a program in one room, but it doesn't always track my progress when I switch. I could see this possibly being a TV issue, but thought watch lists would be an account thing.

This will be a 2 part question. Today I took my dog to the vet office for vaccines only since I'll need to board him soon. This doesn't require the actual vet to participate. However, they don't do any treatments or exams in the room anymore. Instead they take the dog to the back and do everything there. Next thing I know, the vet comes out to talk to me. When they brought my dog back, she said I had to wait for test results. Turns out, they did a heartworm and parasite test I didn't ask for. She said she could always destroy them, but that I might want to do the parasite test anyway because most kennels require it.

Is this true? I've never had a kennels require that, and the one he's going to doesn't require it either. I felt tricked.

When all was said and done, I paid an extra $97 for a test and vet visit I didn't authorize.
