I need to stop being jealous but i cant

hi, so im talking about people who make it big on social media, like they create fanart of a certain fandom/character & gain so much interaction/engagement that they become famous within the certain fandom. I keep getting jealous of them because I would be from the same fandom & create art yet no one gives me the same attention as the other person. I feel like that person just got lucky or something, while I have to work for it. And it has happened many times before- where I join a fandom, start drawing fanart for it, then someone else takes the 'crown' (aka. every person part of the fandom knows them+ their art), sometimes it would be that they enter the fandom after me. I took a break from art because of that

How can I stop being jealous of that and continue making art despite having no engagement? Many times they would be talented but I cant help it, I get really jealous that they took the 'fame' from me. I cant take it anymore

i get jealous whenever someone is more 'known' than me

call me silly for it, its okay, because it is but it gets me so upset either way. Basically, if someone likes, lets say, a film im a fan of online more than me, or the same level but gets more 'popular/known' as [person who loves XYZ movie] even though i talk about that film as much as they do (& maybe even more), they get the recognition for it.

Everyone who interacts with this person will know that person A likes this XYZ movie, not me, even though other people are 'just aware' that i like this movie. It gets me annoyed, I talk about this movie as well in the same 'online circle' but no one cares, they care about the other person. Is it because the person talk to more people about it? does the person have a better way of talking to other than me? whats the problem with myself? i try & try to include myself in these 'online spaces' (fandoms we'll say) and no one cares, there is always going to be that one person who people will remember & like more than me and i get jealous of that. its like no matter how much I try talking about that interest, someone will be better.

I know this is silly to be upset about, but I want to be noticed. I want people think of me first when they talk about a certain interest because I talk about it too, i want to be that known account online that everyone goes to when they join a new fandom, that 'popular account'. I hate being the 'underdog' in everything. Whenever i join a new fandom i try to interact with everyone but it doesnt matter because no matter how much I try there isnt a connection and it pisses me off.

Whats a stereotype you dont like from your country?

For me, its how people assume that we're all rich. Not everyone is rich

Why do people have the need to want to 'feel oppressed' ?

As the title says, why do people want to be oppressed or want to feel part of a 'minority' ? Is it to earn pity points from other people, or to make their lives seem more interesting?

For example, and this is going to be very random, but I saw a question on another subreddit where someone said that Americans are more likely to identify with their Scottish/Irish genes than English because it would make them more interesting, as having English genes is 'basic'

How to enjoy your hobbies again?

Hello, I used to draw a long time ago but I stoped a couple of months ago because I was simply not satisfied with anything I do. However, recently, ive been trying to get into it again & find the 'joy' again but I cant do it. I cant bring myself to sit down and draw, one part that its a fear of starting it 'again' and the other is that im not satisfied on where I am with my level of art so I dont to draw, I want to push myself to improve on my art, or at least draw for fun, but I dont do it. It could also be being on my phone for the whole day, which I want to move away from too.

Anyways, did anyone have similar problems? i'd like some advice on how to push myself in order to draw again even though im not satisfied with the results/process. Thank you,

How to not sound like 'chatgpt' ?

hi, so for more context on what I mean is that I tend to write replies as if it was how chatgpt was replying. It feels robotic and insincere when I do mean it. Have you ever seen some pictures or something of chatgpt answering a question with literally the same way that the person asked, but adding more information? I hope im making sense lol but this is how I feel whenever I answer people and I dont know what to do to change it. I've tried answering people a different way, but I keep repeating the same vocabulary word I've used before as well, its ridiculous. It makes me feel very boring to others & cant engage in conversations much

jobs that can change people

hi, so currently I hold a Business Administration degree but I work in marketing but I really hate it and I want to get out though I dont have the skills to take on another job. I would rather no enter university again so maybe getting certificates to expand my CV would work.

The career im looking into is a job that can change a person, to be a better person. Not to be gloomy for a second but I want to do something 'useful' with my life before I pass away, and marketing, to me, isnt doing that. I was thinking careers like social worker, or even psychology, but im not sure if 'just' certificates would be available & certified to put on my CV, I would need a full programme.

Is there a 'low-entry' career that would help me get my foot into the door towards that path? I really want to make a change in the world and to people. Thank you in advance,

How to stop anxious thoughts about the future?

hello, i have a lot of anxious thoughts about the future, specifically because of how everything is getting much worse. Doesnt help that im living in The Middle East, specifically in the Gulf area and any day something could happen so I cant stop feeling anxious. Im tired of worrying about the future, especially on something I have no control over.

I'd love some advice if anyone can give me, it would be appreciated. I want to try to take some advice before I try to take measures for medication as I dont want to depend on it for the rest of my life. Thank you in advance

Bad anxiety, I need an Islamic perspective

Assalam o alaikum everyone, I wouldve posted this on the general anxiety subreddit but I would like to have an Islamic point of view instead as I would better understand it

So, recently ive been feeling a 'sense of impending doom' and its been very bad, like im going to get very sick (health anxiety) and/or death anxiety (does not help that im in the middle east now & constant 'wars' keep happening, it makes my anxiety much stronger) and I'd like to get rid of it, I cant think/do anything because of it and im always at edge during the whole day, it also gets worse at night.

I need some advice on how to get rid of it, I know everything is written but I cant get rid of those thoughts, its constantly there even though I remind myself that everything is written + Allah knows whats best for me. Please if you have any advice, let me know, thank you.

How to stop trying to reach for attention

Hello, so i've noticed whenever I join groupchats I start to slowly want attention by replying to every comment basically and it feels like im doing it for attention & i dont want that at all, I dont like it and im very sure the other people wont but I cant stop myself, its not outwardly me seeking attention of others but it appears to be subtle, at least to me. How can I stop that 'habit'? thank you,

I know that i've always wanted attention because of my childhood but I dont want to be that person, I want to change it and idk how to change my wording to being 'normal' while chatting with others instead of making it feel like I want the attention, im bothered by myself. Side note: I was in a groupchat & i said something that I think made me want to seek attention to another person (even asked my sibling, and they said it lowkey did sounded like it) and I feel very bad about myself, I just stopped talking in the group chat for a whole day.

Changing accents in my 20s

hello, while i would say im a 'native' speaker because i grew up bilingual, im not from an English speaking country, i just happen to grow up around people who spoke both English and my other native language. Anyways, people around me spoke more of an 'American' accent rather than another English accent and i want to change my accent.

How do i go on about that, as im in my mid-20s. I know its harder to change accents but i dont think its impossible. I would say im 'american-sounding' but it isnt a definite American accent, there are some words here & there pronounced differently than an American but i still sound more American than another accent.

Reduce 'doomscrolling' with hobbies but im not so good at them

Not sure if this is the right sub to ask this, but as the title says, im looking for ways to replace 'doomscrolling' with hobbies but im not good with hobbies so thats why i 'avoid' them. I know everyone starts as a beginner and thats okay but i give up easily sadly, and i need to fix it but thats a different story.

Anyways, i wont entirely delete my social medias but i do need to back away from them because they've been messing with my head & making me more depressed than i am lol & scrolling thru social media doesnt do anything really except 'give you that dopamine hit' so is there anyone who does hobbies that are enjoyable despite not being the best at them? thank you,

Not motivated to work

Assalam o alaikum everyone. I need help & if anyone can give me an advice I would be grateful. I want an Islamic point of view on this.

So currently im working with my parents on a shop they own but im very unmotivated to work. Somedays ill work and some ill do nothing and I feel very bad about it because I want to help my parents and I want to make Allah happy. We, as Muslims are 'obligated' to work and all im doing is not working, instead im watching movies & playing video games. Im so unmotivated to work because I dont like the work im doing.

I won't go to details about the work im doing because I want to keep this private but I dont want to disappoint my parents by not working and they've already done more than enough for me, I want to make them happy & rest and also, for Allah, that im working instead of doing nothing so when I meet him in the afterlife, inshallah, there is something that I actually did and not just sit & play games.

I'm still making du'aa to Allah to help me, but I feel so lost. I keep thinking about making my parents & Allah happy but I dont have any motivation to do it. If anyone can help, please let me know. Thank you.

Healthier snacks

Hello, whats a packaged healthy snack that I can snack on the go instead of making something in the kitchen? I'm not trying to lose weight or have any restrictions I just want to reduce the amount of 'unhealthy' snacks I eat because its clearly ruining my digestive system & i cant keep doing that to myself. Thank you
