Last week I broke a thumbstick, and all I had were Xbox one sticks. They were way shallower but they worked. It was annoying though. I ordered these new ones off Ali Express and I got a bag delivered within a week for about two dollars US. They just showed up this morning so I just finished swapping them out.
Picked all of these up for a few dollars each on eBay, disc only. I bought blank cases on Amazon and printed covers for each one.
Picked up these titles over the past few weeks. Some from retro shops in various cities around California; a couple from eBay. Blood bowl was purchased new on Amazon for $9.99.
I got this Pulidiki cleaning goop, spec’d out for cleaning car interiors, but it works great for pulling dust from my PS2 remote!
Playing Simpsons Hit-and-Run on my 360 and my thumb stick broke in half. Looked around and all I had handy was a repair kit for an Xbox one controller. I put the new thumb sticks on, but the Xbox one controller has shallower sticks so these don’t fit exactly right. Oh well. It will tide me over until I can get a new set of 360 sticks from Amazon.
I took the opportunity to clean it up.
All I can offer is that everybody who keeps saying it’s down, you must not be configured correctly. I’ve answered many questions for people having issues, and my advice works to get me online. I apologize if it's not working for you, but here are the key essentials:
Hardwire it if you can
If you can't hardwire it, I recommend a wifi extender with an ethernet port. Pair it with your router, plug in and configure as a wired connection.
If you insist on wireless, one antenna on the adapter means 2.4ghz g speed. Two anetnnae means 2.4/5.0ghz dual band n speed. The E model with built in wifi is 2.4/5.0ghz dual band n. Your router must have legacy a/b/g/n speeds enabled, and WPA2 security. Any higher security protocol and it can't connect. Google OPEN NAT ON 360 for further instructions if you still can't connect - this punches a hole in your router to allow 360 outside access.
Just got the Smash Brothers controller this week. The black one is my daily driver because my GameCube is black also and it just feels right. I will probably use the Smash Brothers one on my Wii because of the longer cord and the placement of my Wii.
After looking for these for close to a month, finally found them in a box under the couch. I’m cleaning up my back bedroom/home office and they’re actually gonna stay in a box under the couch, but I am gonna take the black one out and use it.
I had to clean out my back bedroom/home office where the Dreamcast is. Decided to take a picture of all my accessories.
A week or two ago someone posted about Dragon's Lair on GC. I got inspired and I found a disc only copy on eBay and I offered the guy $12 and he took it. I made a case and a manual, so I could have a CIB copy.
It showed up yesterday. The guy shipped it in an OEM Wii case!! I have two Wii games in black cases and it has been bugging me (Tatsunoko vs SNK I got disc only and didn't have a white case for it, and Harvey Birdman I bought in a black Blockbuster rental case). I immediately swapped out Tatsunoko vs SNK, so I just need one more white Wii case to appease my OCD.
I have the three main jump packs: The Sega branded one, the Madcatz and the Performance. To me the Madcatz one can be too intense and distracting, but the flashing red light is kind of cool. The Performance is too subtle and sometimes not responsive. I think the Sega model is the Goldilocks "just right," version. I previously only had one of those, but just got two more on eBay. One just showed up in the mail yesterday and the other one is coming from Japan and will arrive next week sometime. It was in perfect condition and looked brand new out of the box with no yellowing. I paid around $20 (including shipping) for each one. I'm excited to play tonight with a new jump pack after I get off from work.
I bought my son a Quest 3 for Christmas; he had a Quest 2 previously, that we still have. Somewhere in the settings, it has my phone number. Recently his friend tries to call my son on the Quest, but it rings my phone over and over and over without stopping for up to 20 minutes. How do I change the phone number or unlink it?
This has been bugging me for a few days. I went to an unnamed retro game shop in Central California on Saturday, not in my town. The shop had a good selection of games and consoles, but everything I looked at seemed a bit high to me. After looking at a few dozen games, I whipped out my phone and looked at pricecharting and gameye, and everything in this guy's shop was a minimum $10 above.
Then I asked about two specific games in his glass case... Skies of Arcadia, and Eternal Darkness, both for Gamecube. He was asking $15 more than value for SoA and $40 more than value on Eternal Darkness. I told him it was too high and thanked him and left the shop.
I guess the owner was there too, and he followed me outside. He asked me why I didn't buy any of the games I asked about, so I told him straight up that his asking prices on everything was at least $10 over value and the going market rate on auction sites. He then proceeded to lecture me about how he has a $3000 rent payment and how he can charge what he wants. I told him I wasn't trying to argue or start a fight, and he asked me what I wanted to pay. I told him on common stuff, I'd pay about value and on rarer stuff I could maybe do $10-$15 over if it was something I really wanted, but $40 was too much, and then he asked me if the window to his shop said "eBay" on it, so I told him I didn't want any trouble and that I was already leaving, but now I'm really going to go.
Later in the day on my way back home, I stopped at another retro game shop and ended up buying a few titles there. One was market price, and the other three were all within $2-3 of market rate (one was below market price).
So I guess here's the question. What pricing do you think is fair? I know what I'm looking for, and I know what I think a fair price is, but am I out of line for not supporting a local shop. The local retro shop in my area has some pristine PS2 stuff, but they're priced $100-200 over value so I don't buy them. Am I the asshole here?
I have a BitFunx component RGBS/VGA cable (switched to RGBS) connection at 720x480i with a Japanese BBA on my NTSC VA01 connection to Sylverant.
Always a work in progress. Add a couple titles in the last few weeks. Updated shot.
Finally got my shelves cleared off and updated. I had a lot of loose discs laying around. Made some cases and manuals for the loose discs. Can you spot them?
Added some titles that were floating around loose. Finally made some boxes (and manuals) and cleaned up my shelves. All titles CIB but some are reprinted cases and/or manuals. Xbox one call of duty black ops 4 is completely obvious. Can you spot any other reproductions?
Was moving some stuff around on my shelves to make some room for more games and I came across this flat with this arcade disc in it. I don’t remember how I came across this. Maybe it came when I bought my OG Xbox new in 2004, or maybe I got it some other way; I don’t remember. I don’t think this has ever seen the inside of an Xbox. I don’t have the OG Xbox anymore. It red ringed and I stupidly e-wasted it about 15 years ago. Will this work on a 360, one, or series X? What’s on it?
Picked this up on Facebook Marketplace for $30. Can’t believe no one else took the guy up on this offer! Feeling so lucky right now. CIB in excellent condition too! I know it’s PC, but I don’t care.
