Toronto police are investigating after “possible human remains” were located in Scarborough late Sunday afternoon.
The discovery was made at the back of an industrial plaza at 2010 Ellesmere Rd., just west of Markham Road.
Toronto police say they were called to that area just before 6 p.m. for a “suspicious incident.”
“This investigation is ongoing, and there is no further information available at this time,” a media officer told CP24.
“If this is determined to be criminal in nature, or this is deemed to be a homicide, more information will be provided.”
Toronto Paramedic Services have confirmed that they attended the scene but would only say that they didn’t transport anyone to the hospital.
The entire plaza is taped off as police investigate.

The Toronto Police Service is updating the public about a Stabbing investigation.
On Friday, August 14, 2026, at approximately 8:10 a.m., police responded to a call for a Stabbing in the Bloor Street and Yonge Street area.
It is alleged that:
- the male victim was walking alone on the sidewalk when he was approached from behind by an unknown male suspect
- the suspect, unprovoked, stabbed the victim
- the suspect then fled the area
- the victim was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries

Investigators have now identified the suspect.
Anthony Christopher David McLaughlin, 36, of Toronto, is wanted for:
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Assault with a Weapon
The suspect is described as male, 5'8"-5'10", with a medium build, numerous tattoos on his face and arms, and a full beard. The suspect was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, blue vest, light grey pants with side pockets, brown leather shoes with mustard-coloured laces, and a backwards black baseball cap with “We The North” in white writing.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance identifying a suspect wanted in a Stabbing investigation.

Toronto police investigating two separate Friday night stabbings
Toronto police are investigating two separate stabbings that occurred on Friday evening.
Authorities were first called to the Keelesdale-Eglinton West neighbourhood, near Rogers Road and Keele Street, at 11:21 p.m. for reports of a stabbing in the area.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located a male victim in his 30s who had been stabbed. He was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say no suspect description is available, but an investigation is ongoing.
About 20 minutes later, authorities were called to the downtown area of Wellesley Street East and Jarvis Street for reports of a second, unrelated stabbing.
In that incident, a man in his 30s was found with stab wounds and transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the suspect(s) fled the area before officers arrived.
No other details were immediately available.
