Pretty excited to see us have a possibility of hitting 40 wins before the all star break. Something I didn’t think was possible 4 weeks ago. Let’s go Sox!

Be Safe Tuesday (Tomorrow) Folks Elevated Tornado Risk!

Edit: Risk was lowered most major storms look to stay south of Vermont or east of Vermont. Storms have the highest chance of being severe in southern VT. Anywhere could still see a severe storm but the chances just aren’t as high anymore. Better luck Wednesday if you were hoping for one.

Can’t believe I’m making another post about this but Tuesday this week Vermont has an elevated risk for Tornados. Brown area is 5-9 percent chance of a tornado and Green area is 2-4 percent. The 5-9 percent chance is an elevated risk and is comparable to a couple weeks ago when we had 2 unwarned tornados touch down in the state. Tuesday will have more instability than a couple weeks ago and it will be very impressive and quite rare for our area. I would not be surprised to see the elevated risk area expanded come tomorrow or the threat level increased to 10-14 percent chance of a tornado.

Just keep your eyes to the sky tomorrow afternoon and take any warning seriously as any storm could spawn a tornado.

Review of alternative apps Apple TV and Android TV

I would like to edit this post and say the hd Homerun app is great and will work for almost anyone just my abnormal situations and signals have some issues with the app. Most people won’t.

I’ve been trying so many alternative apps on Android and Apple to find the perfect experience and I have found the two perfect ones for each device.

Apple: Multiview Sports it allows you to watch up to 4 channels at once and allows you to channel surf. It also pulls the limited guide from HD Homerun. If you have very weak signals or receive interference from EMF and your channels pixelate here and there but are still watchable this app does not try to encode audio that it shouldn’t. A lot of apps try to encode bad audio which can cause ear piercing high pitches while you are watching TV. This app is perfect for Apple devices.

Android TV: Google Channels this is a very old app that was discontinued by Google in 2022 with no updates since. It is still available to download and works flawlessly with hd Homerun even better than multiview. This app allows you to channel change as quick as a cable box it shows you what channel you are watching with guide data and also can surprisingly decode very weak audio while other apps can’t. The picture may freeze or pixelate with a weak signal but this app regularly can play the audio still while other apps can’t. This app also does not try to decode bad audio with high pitches.

Apple TV best app: Multiview Sports

Android TV: Google Channel app

If you need more advanced features then Kodi or Channels DVR app may be for you but be warned that these apps try to decode bad audio and may not know how to handle weak signal pictures appropriately. Since HD Homerun is for OTA signals it is common to receive weak signals or bad audio so it’s in your best interest to be able to handle those situations the best as possible.

Be Safe Folks Tornado Threat Introduced For Today Last Minute

For the areas highlighted in green means there is a 2-5 percent of a tornado of happening in this area. EF-0 or EF-1 tornadoes are expected to be the absolute max if one does form. This can bring winds in excess of 100 miles.

Last week the chance for a tornado was slightly higher at 5-10 percent and that produced 2 unwarned EF-1 tornadoes. The time frame for a tornado today would most likely be 3pm-9pm in the green highlighted area. Outside of the green highlighted area has a lower chance of a tornado but can still receive damaging winds and hail.

VLC Android apps

Been running into a problem and found the issue but I can’t find any app that offers the solution. I am looking for an app that uses VLC as the media player or offers it and offers channel changing up and down. The official vlc app comes very close but has a hard stop when you reach the end of your channel list you can’t just cycle through all your channels. Does such an app for android exist?

Audio in HdHomerun PVR app

I use a TV antenna so I normally have bad data once in a while. I connect my hd Homerun tv antenna channels to the PVR client in kodi to play the live channels and during bad signals it plays awful audio sounds. I know this can be fixed because other applications do not play these awful sounds during bad signals or corrupted data. The other apps that can run hd Homerun just mute it somehow. Is their something I can do to tell kodi to mute sounds during corrupted data or bad signals from my TV antenna? These audio sounds kodi is producing are ear piercing.

How to install channel master 15ft mast on roof?

I have a channel master 15 foot extending mast. Would it be best to extend it then put the antenna on it and carry it up to the roof with a group of people and install it on a large tripod mast or should I be installing the antenna onto the mast while on the roof? The roof is not a flat roof it is a a slanted roof.

Protecting outdoor coax cable from elements

I’m having a 60ft semi expensive coaxial cable ran on some rigid material outside and will also be in the sun. Would it be a good idea to wrap the entire cable in silicone self fusing tape and wrap the entire cable once covered with the self fusing tape with black electrical tape? The cable isn’t really rated for outdoor use without protection and this seems to be the easiest and cheapest protection I could think of.

TV Antenna Windsor VT?

Does anyone know what I can get for my mom with a TV antenna in the town of Windsor VT? She is interested in watching ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CW, MeTV, Catchy Comedy, WYCI, PBS NH, and PBS VT. She can’t afford cable anymore and I think all the channels she watches are local anyway so I think she can get them all with an antenna.

Former Claremont Park and Rec director charged with credit card fraud

Hate to post this as it’s Claremont and I deal with enough issues with my kid in the school district there, but it looks like we have to deal with Fraud in the city government now. We just can’t catch a break or win can we. Ugh.

My Entertainment 8 dollar price increase

Now that this package is getting an 8 dollar price increase and it has no sports or local channels. Direct TV needs to add some channels or add something unique to it to justify this price increase.

For example maybe add Cspan 1 Cspan 2 Cspan 3 and CNBC World and some other stuff.

Claremont’s plan to fully staff the Middle School next year.

At the current moment Claremont only has 3 teachers coming back next year at the middle school. The middle school also has 20 known open positions with more expected over the summer.

The school district has hired a superintendent that works 1 day a week now and will be full time starting July 1st. At last nights school board meeting the superintendent brought forward 3 plans for the middle school and a contingency plan will be put in place on July 21st if plan a and b fail.

Plan A - hiring certified teachers

Plan B - hiring anyone with a bachelors degree with a path to certification

Plan C (after a robust attempt at plan A and B) - How many kids and adults are in each building to make things work? (I assume this means further restructure) If plan C is the only option it would mean the High School would welcome the Middle School students into the building. The middle school would either be closed or house half the elementary school population and Disnard elementary school would end up closing.

We will know by July 21st what the appropriate and necessary plan will be.

School board members and community members think it will be plan C but parents and staff members will have to wait and see.

Claremont city manager resigns after being in the position for less than a year.

The city manager for Claremont has resigned after being in the job less than 1 year. Her predecessor was fired by the city council.

Claremont has openings for a full time

Finance Director
Superintendent of Parks and Recreation/Community Center
Chief Building Inspector
Chief Health Inspector
Library Director
Deputy Building Inspector
Deputy Health Inspector
Chief Admin Secretary for city offices
Police officers
DPW Workers

This only includes full time staff and the city has numerous openings for part time too. As you can see the city now has no city manager, no health inspectors, no building inspectors, no library directors, and no director for the parks and recreation department. The city is also facing a mass resignation of staff members from the school district at the end of this school year in a couple weeks.

Is this happening in any other communities in the state?
