How would SCREAMER 2026 look like in nvidia's DLSS 5 enabled ?

Do you think applying NVIDIA DLSS 5 to this game would result in a massive, controversial clash between hyper-realism and stylized anime art direction, radically altering the game's aesthetic?

Because DLSS 5 shifts from simple image upscaling to generative neural rendering (infusing pixels with AI-predicted photorealistic lighting and materials),

And Would you be ok with all this?

I SUPPORT DISKS AND DIGITAL BUT......

it’s 2026, let’s look at actual facts because holding onto a piece of plastic like it's your life savings is wild.

First off, the disc is literally empty. Modern consoles don’t even run games off the drive anymore because lasers are too slow. It forces a 100% hard drive download anyway. Look at Call of Duty MW2 the physical disc literally only had 72 megabytes of data on it. It’s just an empty piece of plastic holding a digital download link. If you try to install a disc completely offline today without the digital day-one patch, the game is usually broken and unplayable anyway.

Second, you don't even 'own' it. Read the EULA agreement when you boot up a game. You bought a license to access the software, not the code itself. Look at what happened with Ubisoft's The Crew. Millions of people owned that physical disc. Ubisoft killed the servers, and now every single one of those discs is a useless plastic coaster. Same thing happened with Babylon's Fall and Overwatch 1. If the servers die, your disc dies. Period.

Saying digital is a 'monopoly' ignores how reality works too. You can buy digital game codes from Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and CDKeys—often for way cheaper than the console's built-in store. PC gaming went all-digital over a decade ago with Steam, Epic, and GOG competing, and it literally saved the platform. The world moved on when Blockbuster closed and Netflix went to streaming.

As for the emotional attachment I get the nostalgia, truly. We all miss the 90s. But feelings don't change physics. Your emotional attachment to a plastic box won't turn the servers back on. At the end of the day, you are paying for a digital license whether it comes via a download code or a piece of plastic. One just takes up room on your shelf and forces you to get up to swap games. If you guys are hoarding plastic boxes for some crazy doomsday scenario where the global internet shuts down but your house still has electricity, you seriously need to log off, go outside, and touch some real grass.

It’s not a financial investment, it's just clutter.

Last time I posted actual technical facts about this, people ran to report it to the admins instead of answering the evidence. Let’s keep it civil this time. reporting a post just because the facts hurt your feelings doesn't make the facts wrong. The rest of the world moved past 2002

A HUMBLE MESSAGE TO PLAYSTATION

we need:

– Game Gift through the PlayStation Store for friends residing in the same country, now that our purchases will be all digital, we need to be able to gift Family members and friends directly through the PlayStation Store.

– ability to change Console Region at least once a year (there’s people who change countries in real life and can’t change their account/console location on PlayStation, this needs to be addressed) (while changing the region of the console could potentially be used to exploit the option to buy cheaper games in regions where games have regional pricing for players residing in other countries/areas, limiting it to a once a year change eliminates this concern), trying to find a solution to automatically detect the players country/region through their IP/internet connection and changing the store and console region/curency accordingly would also be welcome.

– add Regional Prices for countries like India, Brazil, Argentina, Hong Kong, China and more where people don’t have the same economic spending power as in richer countries from North America and Europe, one of the reasons Steam is so popular in countries outside of North America and Europe is because of Regional Prices, it’s the reason you continue to lose consumers in these areas to Steam, there should be absolutely no world where a country like Brazil which has a minimum wage of $300 dollars should be paying $70/$80 for a single videogame (this is literally 23.33% of the minimum wage of the country), it’s not the same thing as someone in the US receiving $1.250 per month and paying $70 for a game (not even 6% of their minimum wage), you did this to your own first party games when you ported them to Steam (a competing storefront) in these emerging countries, where on top of regional pricing you were losing/giving 30% to valve in each sale, so i see absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t do this to grow the audience on your own storefront in these emerging countries, specially if you want to grow console in these areas.

– bring back PlayStation Stars, since all purchases now will be fully digital, a fidelity program will be more than welcome to incentivise players to buy games on release and complete tasks in enchange for points/digital collectibles, add more rewards such as avatars and themes if you no longer want to offer wallet funds, you never fully commited to PlayStation Stars, it didn’t even appeared on the console itself, this needs to change.

– PlayStation Plus Family Plan, introduce a PlayStation Plus Family Plan with up to 4 accounts per month (for players residing in the same country), you currently charge 10.99 a/month for a single subscription on the Essential tier, on a Family Plan you could charge something like 29,99 for 4 accounts to utilize PS Plus Essential, increasing the amount of members (subscriber numbers) who can play online multiplayer in games like GTA Online, Call Of Duty, Helldivers 2, etc, furthermore increasing spending on MTX while giving benefits to users who have multiple family members or friends residing in the same country that game on PlayStation, you also need to regionalize the price of PS Plus across the world like every other subscription service in the world does if you want mass adoption outside of North America and Europe.

– enhance your refund policy, players should have at least 10 – 15 minutes after initializing a game to ask for a refund (there’s no need for a 2 hour window like on Steam cause that could be used by bad faith players as an exploit to finish smaller games under 2 hours and hurt developers asking for refunds, specially indie developers), so a 10 – 15 minute window is more than enough, you could also base the refund merit according to the trophy progress the player had, if it has more than 10 – 15%, it’s not eligible for a refund, but the current refund policy you have in place needs to change in an all digital future, if not by yourself, by regulators like the EU.

– enhance the protection for our accounts, PlayStation Network is not safe, many people who game on this platform for years have been hacked and lost their accounts with thousands invested, you need top of the line protection for your userbase, maybe include touch ID or something similar directly on the PS6 controller, i don’t know, but you need to solve these security problems.

if you want people to be 100% on board with an all digital future, offer a good service and better policies, make buying directly on the PlayStation Store a no brainer, make it convenient, comfortable, simplified and safe, i guarantee you, you’ll be rewarded with numbers going up, right now PlayStation Store offers the literal worse experience across competing gaming storefronts out there.

and digital games need to be cheaper than they are right now.

A humble opinion from a well wisher. A supporter. A fan and a customer.
