what i would tell myself before doing my first prop firm challenge

If you're brand new to this, prioritize three things over everything else:

rules you can actually understand without a finance degree, support that answers real questions properly, and an evaluation fee low enough that failing once (which is likely, first time) doesn't wreck your budget.

The big, most established names are great but can be a tough entry point for a total beginner higher cost, stricter rules, less room to learn by failing.

I started with FundingPips for exactly that reason: rules were written in plain language, support actually helped with basic questions instead of copy-pasting a help doc at me, and the entry conditions were forgiving without feeling like a giveaway.

(disclosure: current FundingPips funded trader) Before you pay for any challenge though, spend a weekend actually building a real strategy the firm matters less than showing up with an actual plan instead of just hoping.

why is everyone talking about ai, but nobodys talking about what they are building?

Every AI community seems to be discussing the latest model, benchmarks, or updates.

but i rarely see people sharing what they have actually built.

I want to see the bots, AI agents, automations, web scrapers, and workflows people use every day, not just another “Which AI is best?” debate.

So let’s change that.

What’s the coolest bot, AI agent, or automation you’ve built recently?

whether its a weekend project or something you use daily, i would love to see it.

PSA: your funded account balance isn't "savings," pull profits when you can

Something a lot of newer funded traders don't think about, prop firms don't segregate client funds like a regulated broker. If a firm shuts down, that balance you were sitting on can just be gone. Happened to people I know with a firm that folded a couple years back.

Doesn't matter which firm you're with, the move is the same: withdraw on every payout cycle you're eligible for instead of letting it stack up. I do this with Funding Pips even when it means a smaller withdrawal, better a guaranteed smaller number than a bigger number that evaporates.

Not saying any specific firm is at risk, just a habit more people should have regardless of who they trade with.

You are probably overweighting profit split percent in your firm decision.

Did the actual math on this recently, the gap between an 80 percent and 90 percent split on a $100k account at 5 percent monthly is $500. That's real money but it's not the only thing that should decide which firm you pick, especially if the firm with the lower split pays faster or has friendlier drawdown rules.

I'm on Funding Pips' split and honestly the consistency of payouts landing when expected has mattered more to my actual cash flow than squeezing another few percent out of a firm with a slower or more complicated withdrawal process.

Worth doing the real dollar math on your own expected monthly return before letting the headline split number be the deciding factor!

To all the people side hustling and making good money through it? What are you doing exactly?

I WANT TO GIFT MYSELF A FLAGSHIP PHONE BEFORE 😭 DECEMBER THIS YEAR.

Yea okay I agree stupid dream, but if it's making me do work then I don't mind it.

I really wanna buy myself an i phone or a samsung.

# And so i NEED SERIOUS MONEY FOR IT

I have around 5 months?

I managed to do savings of around 10k. But lmao they aren't enough and we all know it, I need to earn now!

I had tried making assignments for people in my college but it's not a static thing. And I earn around 1k at a time. After sitting on my table the entire day writing absolute shit.

I am considering learning \***video editing** but all of these videos online are making me really overwhelmed.

# So, random people online, what are you doing to make crazy good money? And if anyone of you is into video editing, kindly DM!

What bot idea sounds amazing but never actually works?

Every few months I see people saying they've built the "perfect" bot.

Then a week later... nothing.

What's one automation idea that sounds great on paper but always ends up being more trouble than it's worth?

u/FewRaspberry683 — 2 days ago

Has AI completely changed the way you automate?

A year ago I would've written a script for almost everything.

Now I catch myself reaching for an AI agent first.

Anyone else feeling that shift, or are you still sticking with traditional bots?

I am gonna be 20(f) years old on this month's 20, and i wanna start investing. How do I begin?

I can manage to put in 500 every month for sure. And even try for 1k. I have been watching few videos to get a idea. But let's see what advice do people here have to give!

Thank you for your time!

The internet is slowly filling up with AI content. Does it actually bother you?

Honestly, I don't mind AI when it's useful.

What bothers me is pretending it's human when it isn't.

Where do you draw the line?

Which social media app has changed the most in the last 5 years?

Some apps barely resemble what they used to be.

Which platform do you think changed the most

and was it for the better or worse?

If you had to choose one platform for following politics and current events, which would it be?

Some people prefer X because news spreads there almost instantly.

Others use Reddit for discussions, YouTube for analysis, or Truth Social for a different perspective.

If you could only keep one platform to follow current events, which one would you choose, and why?

19 f, I’m going to turn 20 soon, and I’ve never been in a relationship.

I’m going to turn 20 soon, and I’ve never been in a relationship.

I don’t really relate to a lot of people online who say they’ve never been in a relationship, because their reasons are usually that nobody ever approached them, they never approached anyone, they weren’t interested in dating, or their parents didn’t allow it.

My situation feels different. I’m conventionally pretty, so as far back as I can remember, I’ve gotten attention from boys. There was even a phase where I received proposals back-to-back. But I never said yes to anyone because I didn’t feel attracted to them or didn’t feel like exploring anything with them.

I had my first real crush in 11th grade. He was from Nepal, and I was completely over the moon when he approached me. Later, I found out he already had a girlfriend. My second crush was from Manipur — he was a football player and honestly felt out of my league, so I never approached him. My third crush was also from Manipur, and he already had a girlfriend too. My fourth and most recent crush is from Ladakh, and he simply didn’t feel the same way 😋.

Looking back, I’ve noticed a pattern: I’m attracted to a very specific type of person, and because of that, when I receive attention from people who don’t fit that type, I naturally don’t feel interested.

The thing I struggle with now is wondering if maybe the reason I haven’t been in a relationship isn’t because I wasn’t given opportunities — maybe it’s because I’m not the type of person that the people I’m attracted to find attractive.

Crazy rant, don't really need any solution tho.

What's the first thing you'd automate if you had unlimited resources?

Not what you're automating now.

What's the dream project?

The thing you'd build if money, time, and technical limitations didn't exist.

Has social media made it harder to actually live in the moment?

Lately I've started noticing something.

Go out for dinner, and the food doesn't get touched until everyone gets the perfect photo.

Meet up with friends, and half the conversation is interrupted by someone checking notifications or posting a Story.

Even at concerts, people spend more time recording the moment than actually experiencing it.

Social media helps us share memories, but sometimes it feels like we're creating content instead of making memories.

Do you think social media has changed the way people experience real life, or is this just how things are now?

YouTube meme compilations all feel the same now 😂

Maybe it's just me, but every YouTube meme compilation follows the exact same formula.

One guy runs into a wall.

Someone jumps into a ceiling fan.

A random Minecraft clip that's edited like a movie.

Cats... lots of cats.

And sound effects so loud they could wake up the neighbors.

Yet somehow... I still end up watching way longer than I planned.

What's the most predictable thing you've noticed in YouTube meme compilations?

Which social media app do you enjoy the most right now... and which one has gotten worse for you?

Every platform changes over time.

Some apps keep getting better, while others start feeling full of ads, AI content, or endless scrolling.

Which social media app do you enjoy using the most today, and which one do you think has declined the most?
