So I’ve been making my own notebooks and pocket notebooks for a while now and I always have at least one person ask if I sell them. Generally the answer is no and I just gift them one. But it got me thinking, what do people look for when buying pocket notebooks? (Field note size)

Cover art?
Cover material?
Paper type (if fountain pen user are you looking for fountain pen friendly or fountain pen focused)
Lay out (dot, graph, lined, blank?)
Sewn or stapled
Others looks wants needs?
What do you generally look to spend per book ?
What would make you be willing to spend a little more?
Other considerations I’ve not thought of?

Mostly asking out of curiosity and a little to see if it’s worth it to me to possibly sell some of my surplus

So Fergus (110 lb American bulldog) and I took a different route for our morning walk today, and on the way back he stopped to smell the flowers cause he is a gentleman in tune with the world.

Well at this point I hear a car horn blasting and it was a lady in the carport of the house with the flowers.

I wave and she gets out yelling something, I say maam hold on a second I can’t hear you very well, she ask louder if he peed on her flowers to which I responded no he just stopped and sniffed for a second.

Then she said something else to which I responded again I was having trouble hearing her and asked her to repeat it to which she yelled “I CANT HEAR YOU I CANT HEAR YOU” so now I get a little irritated with her and I take my hearing aid out and said “ maam this is a hearing aid, I am deaf and your over 50 feet away yes I’m having trouble hearing you” and I stepped on the the drive way to get out of the road

She took a slight step back and asked I not come closer, to which I respect. She then asked where I lived and I pointed to the subdivision across the street and said “right over there” to which she said “well there plenty of roads to walk that dog over there”

“Ok ma’am I’ll keep that in mind, have a good day”

During this whole interaction which lasted around 5 min he is in a sit and stay at my side. I give him the free command to continue our walk and he walks over and drops a log in the flower bed. She starts yelling again and I respond with

“you asked me not to come closer and I’m going to respect that”
And walked to the house

Edited to add he was also leashed the entire time, on a 8ft lead.

My wife has currently taken an interest in my 2 safaris and we would like to try some other pens. Not limited to just those listed above.

Ideally looking for a bundle
His and hers would be cool
