Njoys I think ?

And now we wait

Was given a couple of nice long cuttings of jade neon and marble queen. Into the water they go into the window with supplemental grow light ( there a rather large tree that shades that window all day )

Hopefully I can get them in soil before it gets chilly and watch them explode in spring

What’s this ?

My local Lowe’s has these labeled as neons and are on sale but even in low light, I’ve never seen a neon do this so what am I looking at here?

Grow light and plant suggestions

I’ve Recently gotten into plants and have a collection of pothos already that will go on the top center shelves to drape down as a curtain in front of the window.
I’m looking for suggestions for plants and grow lights to help fill the space on either side of the desk, there may be a low book case over there in the future but it’s undecided.
Right corner gets a touch of indirect light from the window on that wall but I don’t think it’s enough yo even consider it indirect. Again I’m pretty new to plants in general (like 2 weeks new)

New to plants

Friend of mine is giving me these today, excited to try my hand at some indoor plants.

Wanting to hang them in my 2 windows one was and the other south facing. Anything I need to watch for or know that a basic google won’t provide as far as potting them goes?

I’m hoping the roots aren’t too long and they struggle to transition to soil or is that a minor worry?

Also what soil would you recommend ?

Pen case !!

Before I dive in and get the Lochby Quattro and/or the venture pouch.

What’s your favorite pen case ??!!
Links appreciated and bonus if they are a waxed canvas style or would mesh well with that aesthetic.
But looking at all options.

Bujo with planners

Looking at getting a wonderland222 planner this year with the intentions of using it for both bullet journaling though the day and maybe a long form in the back, has anyone used one?

Or one of the other planners with similar layouts like
Hemlock and oak, midori ect?

Bujo/planner

So I came across the Wonderlands222 and was thinking of trying a one notebook system and supplementing with my pocket journal as a catch all possibly useing the back pages as a one page a day style or morning /evening reflections.

Has anyone done this or similar?

Also if you know of something that would work better I’m open to suggestions

Curling pages

I ran a test run of pages through the laser printer and it’s caused all the edges to curl, even after laying flat in the press for a few hours.

Do they just need more time?
When I fold signatures do I fold with the curl out or in?

I going to use them reguardless as they are for my person notebooks for classes this semester.

Lochby A5 folio mod

So I’ve always had 6 books in my folio, 4 in the elastic and one each in the front and back slot. Got curious the other day and stopped at hobby lobby and picked up the 1/8 wide flat elastic band. A little work and frustration due to tiny holes and massive hands and now I’ve got bands for 6!
Opens and closes just fine and no real difference in writing experience

Recommendations

Acquired my grandfather‘s desk and have decided I want to bring back the study. Looking for recommendations on possible decor, and maybe some ways to blend the blatantly modern.

What to plant

So I recently came into my wife’s grandfathers desk, he wrote his sermons and journaled at it for 25 years before he passed. When my MIL saw me journaling she offered to pass it to me. I hope to use it for another 25+ years after I finish restoring it.

With the three shelves being centered in the window (east facing) I had considered maybe adding some potted plants. I have some SUPER basic knowledge of gardening and such but never really been an indoor plant person. But I think they will add something to the space.

No idea what to plant though. Shelves are 12in high so probably nothing super tall. Ideally nothing with specialty care. Some colors or flowering items would be neat. I’m not against adding grow lights to other shelves either.

Give me some suggestions yall
Also hit me with some practical tips tricks or general things I may not have thought about

Need recommendations

Ok so I find myself in a unique situation of needing a pack that may not really exist

On top of going back to school to finish my degree
I have been informed I’ll be teaching at 2 different campus this year (one middle school and one high school)

I need a bag thats going to hold up to a bunch of travel. Be durable enough to be in the weld shop at one school but professional enough to fit in at the other and at the college

Big enough to carry everything a teacher/ student would need but small enough it’s a practical EDC after I finish this least year of school.

Would prefer a canvas type material of all possible

Oh and not break the bank

Lamy studio

For those of you who have or have used the studio

Other than the slick metal grip. How do you like it? How does it compare to the safari and Al-Star?
Am I going yo notice that much of a difference since they share the same nib and feed?

I’m considering upgrading but can’t justify grabbing a 2k

What do you look for in a pocket note book.

So I’ve been making my own notebooks and pocket notebooks for a while now and I always have at least one person ask if I sell them. Generally the answer is no and I just gift them one. But it got me thinking, what do people look for when buying pocket notebooks? (Field note size)

Cover art?
Cover material?
Paper type (if fountain pen user are you looking for fountain pen friendly or fountain pen focused)
Lay out (dot, graph, lined, blank?)
Sewn or stapled
Others looks wants needs?
What do you generally look to spend per book ?
What would make you be willing to spend a little more?
Other considerations I’ve not thought of?

Mostly asking out of curiosity and a little to see if it’s worth it to me to possibly sell some of my surplus

Pocket notebook restock!!!

These should last me about a year or so
72 pages
Field notes size to fit in my Lochby pocket journal
Pages are Pen+Gear dot grid. It does surprisingly well with medium and fine point fountain pens even showing some sheening and shading at times.
Covers are Paper Studio card stock
Stitched with a heavy linen thread
