People don't care enough about abuse

I wish there was more education on it and its effects. I could never be friends with someone who abused someone else, everyone is against abuse until its someone they know, then suddenly its "nuanced."

Its not fucking nuanced. If a couple breaks up because of abuse, and you don't pick a side, you are picking the side of abuse.

You do not care about someone if you can stay tight with someone who did this to them.

How do you act around crushes?

Do you find your attachment issues get worse when you're actually dating someone or are they bad when you're just crushing too? I would love to hear other people's experiences.

He puts his arm around all his friends for group pictures, but never me

I like a guy in my friend group, and I've noticed over the years in group photos he always puts his arms around people in a friendly way, I've seen him do it for people he has told me he doesn't like, people who he doesn't invite to stuff like he does me.

Is it cause he likes me?

My LO wants to move in with me. What would you do?

He is one of my best friends. We hang out every weekend. It keeps the loop going. We constantly complain about the state we live in and want to leave. He brings up wanting to move constantly, always hinting he would want to move with me. He says he wants to do it in the next year. Horrible idea. He is my biggest weakness and im going crazy. He was gone for a few weeks and I felt so alive. He isn't doing anything wrong, just a bit avoidant and confusing. He doesn't deserve to have his friend be so insane about him, even though i hide it well.

How do you cope with having a crush on your friend

I feel like the dynamics for our generation are just so weird. Its either go on dating apps, which are hell, or ask out someone you are friends with first, which does not feel normal and I feel like a creep.

Discovered some of my friends say the N word, is that normal for our generation?

They're white and they only say it in front of each other "as a joke". We are mid 20s. It has changed my perspective on them entirely. Wondering what other people thing.

I have such a hard time taking myself and my CPTSD seriously

I feel so stupid and embarrassed. I find it so easy to find it valid in other people, but when it comes to myself I have a hard time taking it seriously. I feel like I'm faking it or exaggerating it, and that everyone else around me wouldn't believe me if I told them.

Despite how fucked up I am mentally, I can't stop resenting the people closest to me for having continuously taken their anger out on me in an abusive way. As angry as I am at my ex for hitting me, I still could never imagine hitting him back. I never yelled at him back.

My friends are still friends with him, and I've been having a panic attack cause I'm worried theyre gonna invite him to a party tonight that I'm going to. I can't trust them to take what I went through seriously enough to not invite him.

Bonded with my crush about being fearful avoidants

We are both mid 20s. I got out of a 5 year long bad relationship a year ago. He's never been in one. We spend a lot of time together. Extended hang outs after everyone else goes to bed, 12 hour days together. Deep conversations. Talking about how seen we feel with each other. Talking about how we want kids. We have really close moments, spend entire weekends together, and then don't talk for the rest of the week. The push and pull is torture.

I think he likes me. I think he knows on some level that I like him. I don't think either of us will do anything about it. I deleted my dating apps because I already feel like I'm in a pseudo relationship. I am putting my life on hold for him and I have no one to blame but myself.

Triggered by seeing my friends interact with my abusive ex on social media

Im sick of them leaving positive comments on his posts and him leaving super sweet comments on their posts. I wish they could all stop interacting with each other. I keep having like flight or fight freak outs about it.

I finally got an obsession that wasn't a person for the first time in years

This is a positive thing, but I went through some bad stuff a year ago and fell back into limerence full force as my primary coping mechanism.

I know I'm healing because I've been really into seals lately. Like the animal.

Limerence isn't fully gone, but it's not the only thing taking up my mental bandwidth anymore. I'm glad I can spend an hour watching seal videos without thinking about him.

How much should I have in common with my prospective partners?

I got out of a long term relationship a year ago, and have started dating again recently. But I'm facing an issue. Me and my ex from the beginning had a huge overlap of interests and personality. From the beginning. Of course that only developed further over the years together.

Now I have a hard time imagining myself dating someone who doesn't have these things in common with me. I go on dates with guys who play such different video games, different music, stuff that I have tried to enjoy but can't. Its hard not to feel incompatible with them as a whole.

It doesn't help that the guys I hang out with have the same interests as me too.

Is a healed cold sore contagious if I accidentally reopened it?

I had a sore i felt start to form on Monday, took lysine and valacyclovir and it never fully formed. By Thursday it was healed over, no tingling, just with a little extra skin there from the healing. Friday I accidentally bit the skin off, it bled a bit. Saturday I completely forgot about it and shared a straw with someone. I feel really scared about it. Is it likely to still be as contagious as an open scab from an actual blister?

Has anyone here ever struggled with using tarot cards for reassurance?

I'm largely agnostic, yet for some reason tarot cards really freak me out. When I am in spirals about stuff, I do readings and if theyre positive its such a relief, but when theyre negative I freak out. I'm guessing I should just get rid of them and not use them anymore.
