How to manage living in a dorm with poor ventilation?

Firstly the location is in Baguio, so heat wont be extreme. Additionally I'd be able to stay in school grounds as long as its day time to avoid staying in the room.

We will be five people, 3 rooms. 2 solo rooms and 1 shared room for three. I plan on bringing a fan and that little thing to collect dust in the air, since we dont use ours at home a lot. Aside from keeping a door open for a room with no windows I dont have much ideas. Yes there are exhaust fans, but it will definitely not suffice.

Got free upgrade from ancient laptop parts ^^

I hope Im using this flair right.

I upgraded my G50-80 ram from 8gb to 12gb. Then instead of dual booting windows and Linux i dual drive dual booted them. It was kinda hell the process cuz of my mistakes but windows runs so smoothly now. 10 years of gunk lol. So with my 1tb hdd, I added 320gb of extra storage for linux. Some sectors are bad but I dont mind. As Im hoping a year minimumn. Might get a sata ssd if it doesnt.

I hope my hinges will last a year in college. Im hoping I can unscrew two screws so that I can try repasting it. Performance wasn't boosted that much, but its much more capable. I remember dreading the time when a friend turned it off and it took 30 minutes to boot up. If we dont need advanced or heavy software Its definitely gonna be capable. If I can manage my hinges haha.

Im hoping to be able to convince the fam for a refurbished thinkpad in the future so I can actually use this flair right.

Trouble with both w10 & w7 not detecting my usb after a failed restart (pls read description)

My situation has deepened. Right now I had two drives in my laptop. The first is a 1tb hdd with w10 that failed a reset. The second is a 320gb gdd with w7, that worked byt itself but is not booting anymore now that they are both inside.

I have read multiple posts about downloading windows in my usb and using some settings to boot via the usb. Also with Linux since it had worked once but not the windows one. Right now it is not recognizing my usb at all.

I have 3 ports, 2 black and 1 blue. I am using a 16gb strontium ammo usb which is 3.0 the blue. I tried it in all ports. Tried legacy mode and priority, turned off secure boot. It is still not being recognized.

I have ordered a 32gb sandisk usb (hoping its not a fake, maybe just less storage but is real), which is usb 2.0 and Im unsure if the type matters. As the usb I have here the strontium had worked on my phone with an OTG connection and has been pretty reliable. I used it to previously dual boot linux in my 1tb hdd m. But right now its not being at all detected.

I searched online and it said that windows 10 can recognize usb 3.0 but not windows 7 if not mistaken. So im hoping itll fix this. This is day 3 of trying solve my failed restart.

I wouldve tried just installing linux into the lone windows 7 hdd but its not being detected at all. I had forgetten to try using my external hardrive which also has the blue insides to see if the type does in fact not matter. But i have already installed the caddy and everything and dont feel like dissambling the laptop again.

My bios is not detecting the usb at all, it used to detect the usb when it had the windows installer inside. However it seemed to fail as it loads with a blue screen, sometimes with a ton of black dashes. When i press enter it shows the lenovo title card in black and return swifty to blue then shutting down after some time.

I also used to be able to run linux via usb when i onlt had the w10 hdd inside, but now it doesnt even if its alone inside.

Im in dire help, Ive asked multiple subreddits and questions. With different conbinstions of answers, they did help but only some. The boulder covering the path is judt my usb not being recognized at all. Please I need help, I will keep asking until its resolved.

If more information is needed, or if ive forgetten to mention other details let me know.

Trying to reinstall windows after failed signing in after reset fiasco

Im quite stuck, ive installed the windows 10 install in my usb. I stuck it in my laptop, which wont work because after reseting there is a failed sign in.

Im really confused now on what to do, I tried random solutions about it but dont work.

Some outputs was my screen turning blue, lenovo logo in black appears after pressing enter. Or an instance where its all blue with black dashes all around the screen before turning off.

Im pretty sure the usb is fine, cuz it just said finishing changes before removing and no more menu so i removed it. Im cooked help pls

(Dumb question) Does the laptop opener kit on shopee is usable on most laptops in general?

I wanna try changing my thermal paste, but it seems that regulqr ol screwdrivers wont cut it to an extent. I plan on buying the set but Im considered if itll work.

I have a lenovo G50-80, dunno much about opening laptops. Im worried that when I buy it, well it wont fit.

User profile service failed the sign-in (& additional questions)

Ive just finished resettinf my laptop, remove everything and local reinstall. I read that this is a common issue that is resolved by making a bootable usb drive with the windows installation inside.

However I currently hage my linux mint installation in here which I plan to dual boot immedietly after resetting. Are there other possible ways to resolve this issue that I have not yet found?

Is it possible to install linux mint first, then making my current usb into a windows installation usb after mint?

Will there be definite problems if I plan to reset windows once again with linux mint possibly partitioned in the same hdd?

(I asked this in the Windows subreddit waiting for approval, so Im posting here just in case it gets delcined in the morning)

SLU Student Organizations?

Hello hello, incoming freshmen here. Im curious on the student orgs, Ive seen a link with a couple of them. Some seeming to be related to some courses and some I guess are much more general.

I havent joined any orgs during hs, and I kinda wanna join one. Specifically as a way to pursue my hobbies and motivate myself to do well. Tho Im unsure if there are requirements or anything needed.

Is there a requirement for experience?

Ive seen the white and blue, im assuming is like the journalism org has different roles, including cartoonists. I kinda like drawing myself hehe and wanted to join but Im not that good nor experienced.

What are the other organizations?

The other orgs Im unsure what they are for, unsure if its my reading comprehension or just sleep deprivation lmao. But I havent found a post that helped me much to inform me about them. If yall dont mind explaining to anybody already attending or sharing me a link to a post.

Thank you in advance ^^

How do I reset windows while I dual boot in the same drive with Linux mint?

Windows got slow for me so I dual booted Linux. Since I still need some apps fron windows and its slow I need a long needed reset. Its been 10 years since its last reset. However Im unsure if it is going to affect my linux partition.

I have backed up all my data in windows, in Linux not much if its in risk I'll try saving more files before doing so if there is. I plan on deleting all my files to get rid of old software in windows btw.

I am using a 1tb hdd btw, which is quite old and possibly failing? But cant afford to change it rn, it still does the job. I have an external hard drive anyway.

Uneven sketchbook ideas on how to flatten it?

I got a sketchbook, which isnt hardbound. Spiral with a thin cover. After I opened it I realized the pages were straight and were wavy. It annoys me a lot, I dont know hoe to fix it. I tried ironing it but it later returned to its original state.

Any ideas on how to fix? Even crazier ones perhaps? I dont wanna waste three sketchbooks.

Help, game crashed after collecting all the keys

I was finishing the hiki route, and then I found the last key inside Humphrey right. Then I checked the menu on what the last drawing was. Well it became her hair, but then my game crashed and yeah I lost my progress.

Im so annoyed going inside Humphrey back and forth. Im confused on what to do.

I still have boss rush, and perfect heart. I read that you should finish the keys first, then visit the person in tye abyss after? Cuz they give good stuff for the last two battles.
